ajasatya replied to Barry J's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
you probably used to believe that life had to be intense and euphoric. now you've become free from that belief but you've become attached to another belief: that nothing matters and there's no meaning to anything. you went from a dogma to another, but true freedom is waaaaay deeper... there's nothing wrong with neither of those approaches. nobody is going to judge you because you choose to enjoy life and make it delicious. you're getting older and older. in some decades from now you won't be able to do a few things you can do now because your body won't handle it. -

@Barry J donate all of your goods, go live in the streets and beg for food. you're bored because you're still lazy and egotistical. -
guys, she's just looking for people to pat her. she's not willing to take action. you're just feeding her illusions.

@Mikael89 it's very easy to smell attachment. telling ignorance from wisdom comes naturally. the way you resonated with the OP was quite intriguing...

being in a context that instigates personal improvement while running away from change is just a waste of time. you're the one being naive. instead of telling people to shut up, why don't you run away? run as fast as you can. what the hell do you think enlightenment is? do you think you can be healed without facing your shit? get real...

@Gerhard a source of inspiration: https://www.kiva.org/ those "CLICK HERE TO COPY LINK" buttons are very ugly and don't work on chromium.

@Viking there you go! so much more progress than spending everyday more or less the same way, right? i recommend that you go again after a few months. a new experience without too many expectations and tensions. i also recommend that you go to some retreats and don't comment it with anybody who doesn't ask. don't post it here and don't talk about it. i will induce more maturity -
@TheBeachBionic what do you have to offer? how can your company make someone's life better? if you're looking for a partner just to satisfy your own desires, being in a relationship with you would suck. you gotta go deeper...

@Ampresus hi there. welcome to Your Life. there are several amazing things to do here. pick something you enjoy and do it with Love. don't expect others to enjoy it because that's your, and yours only, job.

ajasatya replied to SoonHei's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
can you define the limit between soul and matter? what is the soul made of? what's matter made of? when a leaf falls from a tree and starts to deteriorate, can you tell EXACTLY when it's no longer a leaf? -

I don't know. this "not knowing" can be terrifying for some people and that's why they start to investigate on this subject with their own hearts. most of them fail and decide to go on without touching Truth. a few of them succeed and encounter spiritual liberation. but what is there to know!? it's not a concept nor a sequence of arguments and that's why it can't be explained. it's a feeling of being as close as possible to the purpose of existence. it's being aware of the wonderful and magical mystery of this moment. it's a sense of huge wonder and respect for every aspect of Reality. if you seek intellectual knowledge, enlightenment won't fulfill you. -

why are you alive? -
@gilded_honour why does good stuff exist? would you be able feel cold if heat didn't exist? what's the difference between self and other?

@SoonHei what performs self-inquiry and why? -
@Patty any kind of life purpose investigation/contemplation is always worth it unless you're not aware of your own death. 66 too old? there's no such thing as "too much wisdom". get your life back asap.

i use facebook but i've unfollowed every friend i have. yes... i've gone through my entire friend list and unfollowed all of them! i just use the facebook chat. i don't like whatsapp because i don't like using smartphones. not even web whatsapp because i requires me to be connected on my phone as well. -
don't confuse selfishness with enjoyability, though... you don't need to step on others' heads to experience a great Life.

@tashawoodfall make it the best life possible. why not?

something less tourist-like and more pilgrim-like. @-Rowan explained it very well.

@beatlemantis i think you're in the wrong kind of relationship. as far as i can see, you wish to build a deeper relationship. you want to connect with someone else in the emotional level as well. but the guy is focused on getting laid with different women to explore his sexuality. ask yourself what you really want. what's your deepest desire when it comes down to living with a man and sharing intimacy? don't force your desire on your current partner because everyone is an unique human being. he's probably living his dream relationship and being sincere to his heart. but you seem to be the one who got yourself in trouble.

i agree with this on a general level. it's a valuable advice for those with weak practices. but there's a certain way of BEING that can touch their hearts in strange ways. deep listening and eye contact can reach them sometimes. of course, it's not recommended if your practice of mindfulness isn't strong enough.

pettiness is a pattern of destructive karma (thought/speech/acts). jealousy, for instance, is a petty attitude because it's rooted on insecurities, which are rooted in lack of self-knowledge. jealousy causes suffering all the way through from what one thinks about himself to what he thinks about others.
