intellectual knowledge is far from enough. freedom requires direct experience, not just dogma like the following one: are you talking about the entire universe freezing at once? here, a more experienced practitioner than both of us talking about what he's been doing for 40+ years https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odWIPhj-ivo -
what the hell is a spiritual person?

in my journey this is what i found: reborn is something Reality itself does. it becomes conscious of itself over and over. i can think "i was born" but, in fact, Reality gave birth to itself in the form of a human baby. so, i, as Reality itself, will be reborn. i have been here forever and i'll be here forever. it's a matter of what you understand by "i". the phenomenon of rebirth is real, but it happens like the waves in the sea. one wave is not the same as the previous one nor the next one. the wave is something that the sea does. confusion arises when the wave thinks it's not the sea itself, moving. -

the goal of the historical buddha was to establish a solid and comprehensible mindset and set of practices that lead to freedom from destructive patterns. in general, he wasn't into philosophy or metaphysics. there are several suttas where he talks to those kinds of seekers and shows them that they were just wasting energy and going nowhere. there is a HUGE step required before going deeper. however, in some rare occasions, he did talk about the nature of Reality with a few and more advanced meditation practitioners. -

that's not a problem for me. but you sound like you're complaining about life, which is something one wouldn't do at turquoise. and that makes me think you're deceiving yourself about your own mental state. -
you weren't deceiving yourself. you had to do it in order to become conscious of your deepest feelings, which were hidden behind huge layers of conveniences. i've been there. it's a beautiful story.

you probably used to believe that life had to be intense and euphoric. now you've become free from that belief but you've become attached to another belief: that nothing matters and there's no meaning to anything. you went from a dogma to another, but true freedom is waaaaay deeper... there's nothing wrong with neither of those approaches. nobody is going to judge you because you choose to enjoy life and make it delicious. you're getting older and older. in some decades from now you won't be able to do a few things you can do now because your body won't handle it. -

@Barry J donate all of your goods, go live in the streets and beg for food. you're bored because you're still lazy and egotistical. -
guys, she's just looking for people to pat her. she's not willing to take action. you're just feeding her illusions.

@Mikael89 it's very easy to smell attachment. telling ignorance from wisdom comes naturally. the way you resonated with the OP was quite intriguing...

being in a context that instigates personal improvement while running away from change is just a waste of time. you're the one being naive. instead of telling people to shut up, why don't you run away? run as fast as you can. what the hell do you think enlightenment is? do you think you can be healed without facing your shit? get real...

@Gerhard a source of inspiration: https://www.kiva.org/ those "CLICK HERE TO COPY LINK" buttons are very ugly and don't work on chromium.

@Viking there you go! so much more progress than spending everyday more or less the same way, right? i recommend that you go again after a few months. a new experience without too many expectations and tensions. i also recommend that you go to some retreats and don't comment it with anybody who doesn't ask. don't post it here and don't talk about it. i will induce more maturity -
@TheBeachBionic what do you have to offer? how can your company make someone's life better? if you're looking for a partner just to satisfy your own desires, being in a relationship with you would suck. you gotta go deeper...

@Ampresus hi there. welcome to Your Life. there are several amazing things to do here. pick something you enjoy and do it with Love. don't expect others to enjoy it because that's your, and yours only, job.

ajasatya replied to SoonHei's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
can you define the limit between soul and matter? what is the soul made of? what's matter made of? when a leaf falls from a tree and starts to deteriorate, can you tell EXACTLY when it's no longer a leaf? -
ajasatya replied to SaWaSaurus's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I don't know. this "not knowing" can be terrifying for some people and that's why they start to investigate on this subject with their own hearts. most of them fail and decide to go on without touching Truth. a few of them succeed and encounter spiritual liberation. but what is there to know!? it's not a concept nor a sequence of arguments and that's why it can't be explained. it's a feeling of being as close as possible to the purpose of existence. it's being aware of the wonderful and magical mystery of this moment. it's a sense of huge wonder and respect for every aspect of Reality. if you seek intellectual knowledge, enlightenment won't fulfill you. -

why are you alive? -
@gilded_honour why does good stuff exist? would you be able feel cold if heat didn't exist? what's the difference between self and other?

@SoonHei what performs self-inquiry and why? -
@Patty any kind of life purpose investigation/contemplation is always worth it unless you're not aware of your own death. 66 too old? there's no such thing as "too much wisdom". get your life back asap.
