  1. @StarStruck If there is still at least the smallest spark of will to make people "understand" what you're talking about, there's also a lot of work to do. It means that you're still stuck in the conceptual level. Far far beyond the mind there's just mundane being. Chopp wood and carry water
  2. Sounds like a small glimpse of Truth followed by a huge backlash of the mind struggling to reconstruct its self-image as soon as possible. Maybe this will help: "you", the perceiver of the experience was not (and is not) the person "Shaun", but something deeper and more fundamental, prior to "Shaun". This "thing" is Reality itself, aware of itself, and all-alone.
  3. Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence. I'm a Data Scientist in a huge Brazilian bank. It's a new digital bank that does not exploit its clients and thus it's VERY HARD for us to make profit.
  4. Many layers of deception here. Have you ever been to a retreat or taken a breakthrough dosage of a psychedelic that's capable of making Truth more noticeable?
  5. @Buba What do you define as "hallucinations"?
  6. We're all responsible for being the righteous restorers of mankind. Pathological Blue wants to be obeyed. Stage Blue traits are not bad... they're supposed to be wisely integrated.
  7. It can be understood that way, since glimpses of Truth can make the ego finally understand (among other things) why being harmless is the best way of living.
  8. This is tricky, but Truth is appreciated for Truth's sake. It does not serve the ego. The ego can serve Truth, but the other way around is illusory devilry (flashes of Full Metal Alchemist popping up in my mind).
  9. @theking00 Becoming fully aware of it as it happens is the first big step. Time should take care of the rest.
  10. Good thread. I'm looking forward to contributing. I've only taken it in the form of Ayahuasca and the results in the long run are amazing.
  11. GOD as "all-knowing" is not something to be grasped with the mind. Rather, it's already happening! This little avatar called "ajasatya" doesn't need to know what lies beyond its experience (neither can it).
  12. @The Don Tell your friends the truth about what's happening and tell them to confront what your brother is saying about you. Build a shield made of truth. It's that simple.
  13. @Pure Imagination Forget about it. Spiritual inquiry cannot be done without genuine thirst. Let go.
  14. @electroBeam If you find a guru he will tell you to do the dishes, clean your room, mow the lawn etc. Who are you?
  15. @solr It's not a regression. It's time to go meta on morals. What is happening is that you're still too attached to your own ideals as well. "Nobody should force their opinions on anyone's throat", "Nobody should have shallow ideas about god" etc. Fundamentally, you're not very different from them, are you? If I'm somewhat accurate, even reading my words should trigger unpleasant emotions in you. What's the solution? Realize that your notions of ethics are just beliefs as well. There will be backlashes from the mind trying to justify itself on how correct it is and why everyone should agree with it. Stay away from it. Stay away from control and let people be.
  16. Good. Now we're on track. To me, it seems that the human creature needs leadership because some people are more capable than others to do specific tasks, like managing resources and doing complicated inferences like interpolation/extrapolation of social forces. Competent leadership (as referenced by the word "state") makes it possible to cap the potential of society by something closer to its upperbound. Naturally, I can idealize the perfect society with perfectly reasonable members, but that's very naive. The examples of groups of people that reach better living standards through leadership are too numerous to be ignored at the moment.
  17. @Norbert Lennartz We can stay away from constitutions for now and address simpler issues. Have you heard of the work that has been done in Bhutan? Personally, I find it quite advanced. The government is genuinely involved in providing a better environment for the people based on serious studies about the current needs. More details: http://www.grossnationalhappiness.com/ https://www.bhutanstudies.org.bt/ This is something that I'd like to study in more depth as soon as possible.
  18. Nobody and everyone "Nobody" because nobody can say "I understand it all already. I have nothing to learn." "Everyone" because everyone knows something that may add up to the topic. In conclusion, we're here to build it together. Although I must admit that I haven't understood a single drop of what you may have communicated about politics so far. I am a mathematician and when I want to communicate something about math, I have to light up my communication skills in order to explain my lines of thought in a clear and concise way so that everyone can understand what I say/write. Talking simple is more advanced than talking complex. Also, using metaphors is not always a good idea. Interesting source: https://zen-of-python.info/
  19. I disagree with the part above because that's relative. It depends on the intentions of the AI engineer. There are robots being designed to rescue people in burning buildings and a lot of other cool projects being done. The future of AI depends on the responsibility of men.
  20. @lostmedstudent I did not go to a retreat center. I am part of a Brazilian religious group called União do Vegetal that uses Ayahuasca for self studying purposes. We drink it twice every month.
  21. @How to be wise You should not verify that reincarnation is real. Instead, you should verify if reincarnation is real. Beware of subtle words that may introduce bias in your inquiry process. There's only one way. Become aware of what you are. What dies? What is born? How come does Reality come to be? This may take decades, depending on your thirst.
  22. @lostmedstudent I've had probably 50~70 experiences with Ayahuasca. What I have to say about it is... it can be whatever you need. Healing from emotional trauma, making complex decisions, having deep insights about Truth or experiencing no-mind. The range of possibilities varies too much to fit in a box. Here's my advice: avoid eating acidic food before drinking Ayahuasca. The tea is already acidic enough. You may use alkaline fruits to remove the taste of the tea. I highly recommend cashew fruit.
  23. @Norbert Lennartz I know that tone and where it comes from. Arrogance is the main scent of ignorance and an easy one to smell. If you can't debate ideas without attacking those who support them, you've already failed. Beware. I've seen enough of your personal attacks full of irony and devilry. Name-calling is not the only way to offend people. How long have you been doing inner work for? The relative level is a matter for the mind, but the Absolute is a matter for the Heart. Sharpen the mind to be intelligent. Soften the Heart to be kind and wise. GOD, if fully aware of itself as a human being, works with the mind of men and the Heart of Earth. Enlightenment work is about unifying mind and Heart so that both work at their peak. If you're not willing to go deeper than the level of mind, you're stuck. And even worse, if you insist on using "spiritual words" to justify evil lines of thought, you won't be welcome here.
  24. I don't always agree with Leo but he's pretty accurate on that one, regardless of how cold or warm his words are. Monasteries managed by true masters are severely rigorous when it comes down to tolerance. Practitioners are not allowed to discuss, talk about their lives, hold personal problems for too long, philosophize or practice any other form of distraction. Freedom can be destructive for the undisciplined mind.
