  1. Enough of this thread already.
  2. People change very slowly. If you stay for a while (I'm not asking you to do so) and pay attention, you'll notice. I enjoy seeing people changing and improving the quality of their lives and that's the main reason why I'm still here. As an extra, sometimes I find amazing content being shared here as well.
  3. @DivineSoda Everyone and everything is made out of True Nature. Everyone and everything is True Nature itself. Enlightenment doesn't make you something else. Enlightenment is Reality becoming aware of the fabric of Reality. When you look at someone's eye, you're staring at the core of the Universe. If you're not experiencing an agitated mind, almost any conversation can feel amazing. Even the most mundane things like talking about the weather. Nobody is special and everyone is special. Discipline the mind and learn how to listen to people. The barriers between "you" and "others" will start to dissolve pretty quickly if you do that.
  4. This forum has a clear specific goal: facilitate growth. People with real struggles in their lives come here to ask for advice. If you sincerely think you need help with something, feel free to create a thread; If you have experience on the subject that someone is asking for help, feel free to talk about it. You can share how you're struggling, how you're overcoming it or how you overcame it; Stay away from pride/intellectual wars. Just some straightforward good practices on how to participate on actualized.org/forum in order to create a better world. There is no need for drama.
  5. That's why I asked you that question. There is no consensus on what feminism is. The term is so wide nowadays that I can argue that any reasonably intelligent person should be a feminist and I can also argue that feminism is a dumb idea. It's very nuanced. I'm not here to define what feminism is and what it's not. I'm just pointing out that you're not going anywhere by getting all spiky and prolix about it.
  6. @CreamCat You're over complicating this and you didn't answer my straightforward question. I don't call myself a feminist nowadays but I do want men and women to have equal rights. Everyone should be allowed to go to school, vote, ask for a divorce, start a career etc. This is very basic for me and thinking otherwise doesn't make much sense to me. I'm done here... I have nothing else to add for now.
  7. @CreamCat What does "feminism" mean to you, exactly? When it was first created, feminism was a movement to defend equal rights between men and women. In that sense, how come is a real man not a feminist?
  8. @Peo It depends on what you define as "danger". My short answer is no. But if you're not entirely aware of what you're doing or if you lack the necessary discipline, you might just waste your time with distractions. And wasting your time may be considered dangerous by some.
  9. @Mikael89 He did not mention muscular pain and he didn't say that he was feeling tired or anything "physical". Burning sensation in the abdomen? Feeling an urge to throw up? To me, it sounds like a mental/emotional reaction, like building up a huge peak of anxiety. The mental ego structure and the emotional body is a real phenomenon that happens for us human beings. Sitting in meditation and doing nothing is interpreted as a threat by the agitated/undisciplined mind. By the way, I have no idea what you mean by "enlightenment/spiritual stuff". Also, I don't understand where your tone comes from. What are you trying to do?
  10. @saish You won't succeed if you don't try. So why not?
  11. @LiberatedMonkey I don't know exactly what happened because I'm not aware of your mental stories and emotional body. But it looks like the ego structure felt violently threatened. Also, keep in mind that a daily consistent practice of 30m~60m is far more efficient than those 2h+ hickups. The mechanics of the mind have a huge inertia and can't be changed abruptly unless some crazy episode happens in your life. Imagine a car moving at high speed... it won't stop properly if you brake vigorously and then let it go (it's actually very dangerous). In order to stop the car, you better brake smoothly and hold it until it stops. The other option would be crashing violently against a huge obstacle, but this is far from desirable.
  12. Watch out. Pride is toxic and can sound paradoxically elegant. If you want to grow, mind your own learning process and stop praising your own self-proclaimed greatness, mr. God.
  13. @kieranperez Truth is for the thirsty ones. Small piece of advice: let those intoxicated by pride be. Every human life is an amazing quest.
  14. Ah, there it goes again... Wake up! Bending over to the impulse of creating useless threads and the short-term fulfillment that arises when people confirm your experiences are also TRAPS.
  15. Yes. But there are also moments of genuine connection with Truth, which feel like Truth is simply contemplating itself, verbalizing to itself and amazing itself. It's like the difference between arguing and composing poetry. Don't get me wrong, though. This is not a wrong thing to do. It's just the natural path on which Truth becomes fully aware of itself through human beings. We gradually become less conceptual and more experiential.
  16. I don't think children are mature enough to feel Love consciously. Personally, I have no memories of feeling Love when I was a child. Love was a completely new thing to me on my 25's.
  17. @LambChop To me, it sounds like you're bypassing an emotional wound. We're supposed to profit from broken relationships by becoming wiser and more deeply connected to what we want to do in our lives. But the way that you said it made me think that you're just sweeping it all under the carpet. If you got into a new relationship after your ex dumped you just to feel less lonely, it's a big red flag. I would have taken a while to breathe and understand who I AM. In fact, that's what I did before I met my wife.
  18. Short answer: yes. It depends on how genuinely thirsty for Truth you feel. If you're not willing to implement rigorous and efficient practices, then forget about it.
  19. It's inevitable. Specially in new fields/services. It depends on the job. Particularly, I am a Data Scientist, so my work is to analyse datasets and design statistical models. But there are also Data Engineers, who are responsible to ensure the data quality. And there are the Machine Learning Engineers, who plug models designed by Data Scientists in production.
  20. My paycheck is relatively high, but the company's balance is still red for now (slowly migrating to neutral and then to green).
  21. He was talking about trading stocks specifically. And I agree with him. I'm currently working on a AI system to buy and sell stocks and I'm aware of the fact that I'm not generating any value. It feels like I'm just draining money from other people because when someone wins, others lose. There's 0 value added to the world except for what I intend to do with the money, which may differ from most people since I'm not buying junk food, alcohol & other shitty drugs. My final goal is to use it for philanthropy.
  22. @Jcent Oh, so you mean really long periods of conscious work. I thought that 10 days were long enough I lived in an ashram for a while, but as Leo said, it's quite demanding. Good luck on your choice!
  23. @Jcent Some people have already mentioned it here, but I highly recommend Vipassana retreats because they're very intensive and provide a good setup. And also, they're free.
  24. It's amazing. The hardest part is becoming part of some challenging project that's financially viable. But you can start working on that from today. Build an interesting portfolio (Github page/repos, Kaggle competitions/kernels etc) and things should go a lot smoother for you in the near future. For me, working with AI = creativity + mathematics. It gives me the feeling that I'm working at my peak.
  25. Sorry @Aakash but this thread is doing more harm than good to you. Too much wording already. Watch the struggle of the mind for now. It's a roller-coaster!
