dear @Mikey , i said that we're having a good time here in this forum in general. we're not happy because you suffer. that was your own conclusion because reality still looks very personal to you. this suffering you feel comes from the fact that reality is trying to rob you from that ego-driven perspective but you don't let it happen. if you relax and accept reality as it really is, something interesting will happen to you. right now, as you suffer, you're actually in the verge of a miracle. certainly the best thing that can occur in a human life experience. -

i have this criteria: everyday i try to take care of my body take care of my mind eat well share laughter and smiles, listen and have eye contact invest in my university career improve the accuracy of my reality perception (dharma studies, self-inquiry etc) help the world sometimes i can combine these topics. sometimes i can't keep up with all of them. but a day like that feels like a PERFECT day for me.

2016, oct 3th healthy meals happiness sharing yogasanas meditation self-inquiry & dharma contemplation ashram duties actualized.org contributions woke up in my girlfriend's bedroom and we shared some intimacy. after that we had a breakfast full of smiles and deep eye contact. she went to university and i came back home on my bike. when i arrived i saw my muslim friend waiting for me. he had just arrived too. he did not tell me that he was coming over. what a surprise! he wanted to see the place i live in. we had a pleasant talk about buddhism and islam. then he left and i watched leo's low quality vs high quality consciousness video. then i contacted the daissen-ji zen center from florianópolis to confirm my presence on the sesshin they're organizing, which will happen in november. lunch time! we had a happy meal with everyone from the ashram then i came back to study some more of leo's content and participate on the forum until the yoga teacher came. the yoga class was excellent and then i took a bath for my monday zazen with the daissen-ji sangha. after zazen i went to eat açaí with another practitioner. he's a physicist and we talked about the dharma and science. then i came back home on my bike and started to clean the meditation hall, as i do every monday and wednesday. i started to create portuguese subtitles for the last leo's video and i plan to keep up with this work. then i came here to start this self-actualization journal.

i stopped doing things just for attachment to pleasure or aversion to pain. i no longer feed the cycle of cultural trash and violent food. i no longer disrespect others and my peaceful state of being brings peace to other people just from being near me. there are a lot of other examples i could enumerate. -
lol i just noticed how these words sounded like the diamond sutra (http://zen-ua.org/wp-content/uploads/the_diamond_sutra_english.pdf)

@kurt saturday, after a long zazenkai, i had one of the deepest insights i've ever had. i was asking myself "i've seen the emptiness in myself, but who suffers the consequences of karma?" then i realized the emptiness in every being. not just those who live right now but also those who are gone and of course those who will still come. so the words pounded my mind like a flash "no one suffers the consequences of karma!". so suffering is felt by the Universe. the same is with happiness and all other emotions. helping people being conscious of that gives me infinite joy and gratitude. i help being conscious of the fact that happiness has simply been felt (by nobody, this is the beautiful part). so it doesn't become a matter of selfishness/selflessness. thats why i call it pure selflessness.

@Chew211 @kurt i cannot defend any point of view. points of view don't matter much. i can only talk from direct experience and pragmatic living. i quit porn and masturbation and this attitude raised the quality of my consciousness/life through the roof.

i recommend the book "light on yoga", written by bks iyengar. the practice would be like this: watch the entire video before performing the postures and study deeply with your book each posture that's performed on the video. then you can replay the video and go with it. nothing can go wrong if you do it like this.
-
any definition of "success" that does not include real happiness is useless.
-
one can only talk about his own direct experience. quit thinking that you're talking about "others". you talk about your own selfishness. i had a huge ego and it made me suffer. now i practice zen and teach the dhamma as a zen teacher for free (the job i get money from is in the university). "coincidentally", everyone that's coming into my personal life is genuinely selfless, including my girlfriend, who is a sincere seeker too. why did i quote "coincidentally"? these things you will understand later on by yourself. for now you just need to practice humility, that's all.

@Chew211 sexual expression != perceiving the body of another being as a commodity, an object of egoist satisfaction

this is the kind of question that cannot be answered. no answer will satisfy you. you have to experience it. how far can YOU go into this? -
porn is disrespectful.

instead of trying to run away from the pain, just accept it and feel it as much as you can. society has developed a sick tendency to run away from our feelings. if you learn how to get in touch with your feelings you may find the profound beauty that can come out from sadness. then you may understand why this episode made you suffer, leading yourself to true wisdom. people will talk about pride. don't listen to them. humility is the natural way. humility teaches you not to expect anything from anyone.

these worked for me in parallel: hatha yoga and kundalini yoga. they provide you ecstasy through the practice. pranayamas, mantras and relaxation are powerful tools that offer you well-being and motivation to continue. as you keep practicing, deep changes will occur in your body and your eating habits will change naturally.

i think a healthier way to ask this question would be "are you conscious of your true nature?" as leo said in a video, "the Truth has always been true", either you're aware of it or not. i am not fully aware of my true nature yet but i'm very patient. i have a rigid meditation and self inquiry routine and i have gathered a lot of insights just from that. i am starting an ayahuasca journey and i am giving myself 1 year to see if it will provide me absolute infinity. i'm extremely sensible so it's rather wise for me to explore ayahuasca before 5-meo-dmt. -

are you noble? understanding ego is not very easy. the wish to see through the ego is still a wish and it comes from the ego. to stop contradicting ourselves, we need to assume the form of an ego that seeks. an ego with serious doubts, thirsty and sincere will to become aware of Reality. egoist people may not be noble because they cause suffering to other beings, but that's something else.- 4 replies

as long as there is experience to be witnessed, it can only be done through some individual avatar because perspective requires duality. yeah, there's no way out of the matrix besides parinirvana, if that's even practical. the buddha's teaching was that every sentient being from every possibility of Reality should acquire the desire to enter a journey to kill its ego, leading to COMPLETE cessation of experience. well, honestly i think we better live in the matrix consciously (as much as we can) so we do not draw in delusion anymore, loving "everyone" knowing that's "self" love and loving "oneself" knowing that's loving "everyone". enjoy the ride because it can be fun and healthy -

according to some psychologists, our dreams are representations of our wishes in another language. a language that we may not understand so we don't fight those wishes as we would do during daytime. so the dreamland is a platform of free expression of our ego.- 4 replies

learning not to judge yourself is an important step, otherwise you will drain your own energy.
