  1. it's a temporary pattern. the only moment that the typical mind stops is right before sleep time, so your body created a correlation between slow thoughts and sleep time. achieve more peaceful moments during the day and be mindful of the fact that it's not sleep time yet. it will take a while, but you should get used to it.
  2. my sleep (quality and length) is part of my success.
  3. @CGeo i use a cheap one. it cost me $30. also a male yoga short (even cheaper). dedication is expensive, though!
  4. pride entails suffering, young padawan. too much of you, you still think. thus ready, you're not yet. neediness, i can sense. *sniff* *sniff* penury, i SMELL!
  5. @Ilya can you tell "more negative thoughts" from "becoming conscious of old unconscious mental patterns"?
  6. let go of the belief that getting laid means success. i've met many inpiring people who practice celibate. even i did it for a while. what does the word success mean to you?
  7. @Dominik Drums this kind of work is for those who aren't scared of facing the magnitude of their freedom. for those whose happiness depend on egoic validations and external motivations, they should stay away because self-actualization is a way of dismantling old patterns. it's destructive. there's nothing wrong with goals. being a slave of your goals is the problem. but only a few people can face the reality of not being a slave.
  8. did you listen to what he said about his kidneys and liver, though?
  9. @Serotoninluv you care too much about making a point. you gotta let go of that pride. when we start the journey we have the beginner's mind. everything is marvelous and we learn from many sources. the thing is... the beginner's mind is the goal! don't carry intellectual baggage with you because fundamentally you cannot explain Reality anyways. admit it to yourself 24/7 and let your heart bloom through silence instead of being vulnerable to mental concepts about you and Reality.
  10. you cannot fight thoughts with more thoughts, that's for sure. in order to heal yourself from any kind of thinking pattern, you need to go completely out of the box and drop the entire game of thinking. it's your addiction. i bet you consider yourself a smart guy. drop it!
  11. spirituality is the practice of becoming conscious of the root cause of my sufferings and working towards extinguishing them. notice the difference between pain (bodily sensation) and suffering (mental).
  12. @kieranperez why have you been experiencing anger? what thoughts have been triggering it?
  13. it cannot be done. humanity's been looking for solid proof and evidence of his existence for quite a while. all we have are scriptures (gospels) and rumors. but i'll tell you the solemn Truth. before abraham came into existence, i am the way and the truth and the life. be still and know.
  14. you're still pretty lost. enlightenment is not the result of something specific like a particular technique or event. enlightenment is the result of a LONG process of existential inquiry and contemplation. eckhard tolle, for instance, woke up enlightened after an episode of deep awakening during the night. but his enlightenment was a result of DECADES of suffering and depressing existential crisis. don't meditate? what a terrible advice. the life of an enlightened master IS meditation.
  15. your motivation to start this thread was suffering. you suffer because you don't feel motivated enough to become enlightened. how deep can it go? maybe enlightenment isn't for you. even reading what i write may cause suffering to you. why do you suffer? why can't you be content right now?
  16. @Ilya thirst for Truth comes from becoming conscious of the latent suffering that's caused by ignorance.
  17. @krazzer don't worry too much about that. instead, observe your bodily consciousness expanding and becoming more accurate as you practice. you can study about the asanas and it will enhance your practice. but practicing is the most important part.
  18. @egoless notice the I that became egoless. when we say I, we think that we're pointing to a limited fragment of Reality like a body or a thought. but what we REALLY mean by I is the existence as a whole. the Universe says I through each of us.
  19. @Shakazulu hi. we're growing up. becoming a man can hurt.
  20. it's because only now you're really interested in learning. the humble attitude is the key. even University can be wonderful. it depends on your thirst to practice what you learn.
  21. @eduardo ceccarelli yes, but how can you integrate the intellectual knowledge with your day to day experience in order to create a rich and profound life?
  22. @IAmJohn welcome! since you asked, i recommend this book. prem baba is a brazilian guru who has suffered from issues related to intimate relationships in the past as well. we share a common background. i hope you can channel your suffering to skyrocket out of the mud of spiritual poverty. i'll give you a hint. every woman is woman and man. every man is man and woman. let your heart bloom like a huge flower. discover your female nature and find your balance. draining female energy from women is harmful for them. and so is it when they drain masculine energy from us.
  23. @Damir Elezi we're welcome!
