  1. @abc First things first: - work on taming the monkey mind - minimize interaction with toxic/ neurotic environment - keep meditating - sit in a quiet room and just be, no distraction - realize you are not your thoughts/ emotions - realize your true self is the empty awareness behind your thoughts/ emotions - learn self inquiry - work on getting in touch with the true self (enlightenment work) - know you are fine and whole just the way you are - keep calm and breath
  2. @Jakob Fermenting is awesome. I make my own sourkraut too, good stuff c(: In my country that was the way of life - fermenting veggies for winter and making preserves from fruit and berries. My grandmother even fermented apples and watermelon Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress!
  3. @Jakob Yes, a little bit of starch (like rice or potato) helps IBS. Also ginger and carrot juice. I bought a quality juicer awhile back and fresh juice almost daily. Also, morning green smoothies make great breakfast replacements. Highly nutritious and easy on digestion. Do you take probiotics?
  4. @Jakob That's awesome! I stopped eating red meat too, still a bit of organic chicken here and there, lots of fish (wild caught), and no grains other than organic buckwheat, rice and quinoa. There's a good book 'Grain Brain' by David Perlmutter I highly recommend, a real eye opener. Also, Curcumin BCM-95 is a potent anti-inflammatory for managing pain drug-free. I have occasional back pain and a couple of 725 mg capsules take care of it pronto.
  5. Hi @Jakob Sounds like you have a good plan to keep moving your life forward. Leo's material and support of like-minded people will help you stay on track with your self-actualization. Also, get a full body detox to eliminate the aches and pains and to fix IBS. Natural medicine practitioners are best for that. Chlorella + cilantro will cleanse your body from heavy metals and various chemicals. You didn't mention what your diet is like, so be mindful of what you feed your cells with. As you probably already know, organic raw unprocessed foods from the earth are what builds up healthy body and is the best medicine. Here's some info on detox: http://www.naturalnews.com/035177_chlorella_cilantro_detox.html
  6. Leo has it in a video http://www.actualized.org/articles/the-grand-model-of-psychological-evolution At the yellow stage (1st stage of Tier 2) you're aware of the previous stages; no fixed beliefs, but rather integrate knowledge and experience; self-realized/ awakened (full enlightenment is not a requirement at this stage); not a conventional thinker; priority on self-actualization/ reduced neuroses and need for external stimulation; no fear of being alone/ emptiness; you adopt Being-cognition. There are more characteristics, these are just the changes I've observed in myself.
  7. @JevinR Check out super-food algae Chlorella. It's 50 % plant based protein, contains all amino acids, omega-3 and 6, major minerals and vitamins, chlorophyl, digestive enzymes and probiotics, detoxifies and is a potent antioxidant. I put 1 tbls of Chlorella powder in my morning green smoothies and my energy never runs out. Plus you save on a cabinet full of expensive supplements. Make sure it's organic (for cleanness) and broken cell wall (for better absorption).
  8. @Christian Tell him the truth about how you feel about the whole situation. Leo has a good video 'How You Lie' where he talks about how to be assertive in dealing with tough situations (in 3 steps). Here's the link: http://www.actualized.org/articles/how-you-lie Also, his vid 'Avoiding Dysfunctional Relationships' is a good one to watch: http://www.actualized.org/articles/avoiding-dysfunctional-and-abusive-relationships
  9. @Endew I would take out a student loan and go back to school, at least part-time, and work somewhere part-time. This would give you a goal to work towards, an opportunity to create results in your life, to be more independent and self-sufficient. Also, look for positive people to surround yourself with who will support, encourage, and cheer you up in your journey. And learn about personal boundaries and how to assert yourself and say no, even to your parents. They don't own you.
  10. Soy beans are not recommended. They turn on genes linked to cancer growth.
  11. @stephan Better to find someone you feel comfortable with.
  12. @Christian Leave this disfunctional toxic relationship. Sounds like your 'friend' has mental/ emotional problems and is using you as 'punching bag' of his neuroses. All you are to him is a source of his narcissistic supply. Real friends don't do things that he does to you. The only way to make an emotional vampire stop sucking blood-life out of you is to cut off the supply. Which means you got to leave and have no contact with him, if you want to save your sanity.
  13. @zasa joey Check out Ayla's thread in self-Actualized Journals forum called 'Mind Attacks After Initial Seeing'. She describes how the ego tries to make you doubt and undermine the process, and the steps to get yourself back on track.
  14. @zasa joey Self realization would actually make your life more liberated and meaningful. You'd be able to separate the lie of your conditioned mind from the truth of reality. You'll appreciate and value life more, from the simple position of just being, existing. It will also help you rid yourself from different neuroses, like fear (of emptiness being the biggest one of all), guilt, neediness, etc. It's a process that will take some effort on your part, ego will resist changes. But more you press on, further you'll advance, and more beautiful and joyful life will become. There will be no death to be afraid of. And you'll get that enduring peace that transcends all understanding
  15. @zasa joey My take in a nutshell is that perciever IS perception, like it's all one substance manifesting itself. And the first part of your question - when we're in a deep sleep and our brain is 'turned off', that doesn't mean there's no awareness. And remember, it's the EMPTY awareness Leo's talking about, where no thought, feeling or any other possible mind activity cab be present.
  16. @Holdup An interesting study on attractiveness levels in a couple https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/05/03/the-real-reason-some-people-end-up-with-partners-who-are-way-more-attractive/
  17. @DizIzMikey Chlorella is awesome for heavy metal detox. I take 1 table spoon of chlorella powder in my morning green smoothies daily. 2-3 drops of Oil of Oregano in a 8-10 oz drink daily for a few days will get rid of parasites. Also, probiotics are supposed to help eliminate parasites.
  18. @Vinsanity From Leo's video library http://www.actualized.org/articles/the-power-of-self-acceptance http://www.actualized.org/articles/how-to-stop-judging-yourself
  19. It's not shallow to keep your standards high. Build yourself up first, then you can attract same kind. Gyms, yoga classes, health-food stores, fresh farmers markets are all good places to meet someone who takes care of her body and mind. Once you meet a girl you like, you can introduce her to self-actualization, meditation practices, let her listen to Leo's vids, etc. If she responses positively, that's a very good sign. Using online dating to find this gem of a girl is a waste of time, unless it's a Conscious Singles type of site. Don't settle.
  20. Just wanted to share this beautiful piece. Hugs
