  1. Good one! I tried to talk to one friend about it to ...figured better leave it alone Love JP's jokes, btw, he's hilarious
  2. I know, JP bs's a lot, but the interview sounded legit
  3. @The Universe An India-born aquaintence suggested I go talk to someone in a local Hindu temple after I got awakened. He said I would need their help in order to keep my path pure. I declined, staying clear from belief systems. There's no 'me' to be instructed about anything anyway. Meditations, direct observation, practicing Being, and shadow work all keep me well rooted in reality. Don't think about stuff... just BE.
  4. Interesting... I just watched a Buddha at the Gas Pump interview with JP Sears where he said he'd got awakened during an encouner with a cat
  5. @Santhiphap Thank you for the update and really enjoyed the quote. Keep us posted
  6. @Santhiphap You're welcome. I had my initial glimps while doing Leo's guided 'no-self- meditation too. Don't stop there and keep looking deeper. Ayla's guide came handy many times. You're on the right track
  7. @Santhiphap To me the initial glimps of 'no-self' was more a releaf than fear. But the ego always fights it though, because when you know what you truly are, you also know what you are NOT and that the mind-body construct is just an illusion, a false sense of self. This will help understand:
  8. @Kazman Leo released a video a few months ago on the 10 things we don't know we want, and one of them was to be dispassionate. I have been actually gradually incorporating those things into my life (even experienced samadhi) and the levels of my peace, contentment, and happiness have been increasing. When you live from the plce of Being and not a personal story, nothing is forced, things just fall into their places and you exerience a lot of beautiful synchronicity around you - this is living life to the fullest. Here's the link to the video:
  9. "You naturally begin to center more and more on the spiritual part of your being. You do this not by reaching for the spirit, but by letting go of the rest" - Michael Singer
  10. Sid and Irv are business partners. They make a deal that whichever one dies first will contact the living one from the afterlife. So Irv dies. Sid doesn't hear from him for about a year, figures there is no afterlife. Then one day he gets a call. It's Irv. 'So there is an afterlife! What's it like?' Sid asks. 'Well, I sleep very late. I get up, have a big breakfast. Then I have sex, lots of sex. Then I go back to sleep, but I get up for lunch, have a big lunch. Have some more sex, take a nap. Huge dinner. More sex. Go to sleep and wake up the next day.' 'Oh, my God!' says Sid. 'So that's what heaven is like?' 'Oh no,' says Irv. 'I'm not in heaven. I'm a bear in Yellowstone Park.'
  11. @Frode Thank you for your book reviews! My son (18 yo) and I watch them together and find them very applicable.
  12. If you shared your experience with a Christian, they would insist that was Jesus. They say he is the first one to great you in heaven. Was just curious what you though that was and if you received any communication.
  13. What was that being standing infront of you and radiating light?
  14. There is a comic somewhere in the thread about this Zen Budhhist monk birthday story...both are funny
  15. @Dodoster There are many things, but to name a few: my dog, witnessing an act of kindness, silly funny joke, sometimes when meditating, etc. And ths morning, this thread
  16. If living in the Absolute is considered mental illness, then I don't want to be 'well'
  17. @ElenaO I buy young coconuts, crack them up, and use fresh coconut water for a drink or in a smoothie. The soft flesh of a young coconut I use to make fresh home-made coconut milk c(: No bottles or plastic, just pure goodness from the earth. And my skin loves it too
