  1. Enlightenened with an ego?
    Enlightenened with an ego?
10,000+ hours of industrial-grade meditation or the like.
And even then, it's dicey. Shadow issues and developmental issues will still likey remain.
The mind is not going to be "solved" with one technique. You need a multi-pronged approach.
And every mind is different. For some people it will be a lot easier than for others. Don't assume all minds are the same.

    Enlightenened with an ego?
@Feel Good One enlightenment experience rarely dissolves the entire ego-mind.
It's much more common that people have an enlightenment experience and then fall back asleep. This can happen over and over again until the ego finally cracks for good.
And even so, the mind will still be there, with all of its conditioned patterns (karma, samskaras). Those patterns are largely from the ego, so they will keep playing out the ego's "stuff" even if the ego is seen through.
It's sort of like when you cut the head off a rattlesnake, the head can still bite you

There is also the question of degree of awakeness. Not all people are equally awoken. Some are far more awoke than others. Most so-called "enlightened" people are only mildly awake.

How do I outgrow orange ? (Getting to green/yellow)
Just hanging around Green people, or even just listening to Green people can be very helpful for outgrowing Orange.
Check out the Youtube Channel, Majority Report. They are very Green and love to ridicule Orange.
Just be careful not to get trapped in Green.

  4. Why do we secretly want all the bad stuff we are trying to change?
Why do we secretly want all the bad stuff we are trying to change?
    @Widdle Puppy
''Humans are the only species that can set certain values and then pursue the completely opposite ones''
    -Nathaniel Branden
this all boils down to the topic of consciousness. High consciousness is never a given. You have to earn it. Every single moment, you're either upgrading your consciousness or degrading it.

  5. Tension in the body
    Tension in the body
@Widdle Puppy I like to think of it as two phases:
Exploration phase: where you learn about and sample lots of various methods. Little results but lots of options and new ideas. Consolidation phase: where you get serious, buckle down, choose a few methods to master, and get to work. Lots of results but kinda boring and grindy. Both are important.

  6. Kriya Yoga Mega-Thread
    Kriya Yoga Mega-Thread
    Definitely
I feel like I'm on a mild psychedelic high throughout the day if I just sit still for a minute.
    Kriya is like microdosing psychedelics.
It also significantly calms the monkey mind.
It only takes a month or two to start to feel that. At least for me. Your results may vary. I have done a lot of psychedelics over the last 2 years, so I am much more conscious than I would be if I was starting Kriya from zero.
Don't recall exactly which book it is from. I think it's the Kriya Supreme Fire. You basically just breath in, do the 3 locks, then hold it for 90 seconds (or as long as you can).

  7. Kriya Yoga Mega-Thread
    Kriya Yoga Mega-Thread
It's weak sauce. A drop in the bucket compared to the power of Kriya. His online course is mostly just meant to recruit new people. It's not going to transform your life.
That's not so say it is bad. You just have to understand that the reason I chose Kriya was because it is the most potent thing I could find. It's yoga on steroids.
With the size of Sadhguru's organization, he cannot teach the most powerful techniques to noobs. He has to teach weak mainstream techniques as introduction. I'm sure he also has powerful techniques, but you won't get those without jumping through all the hoops.
The popular a spiritual teacher or teaching is, the weaker it must be. The best teachings are very niche and they are not advertised on YT to mouthbreathing noobs.

  8. Ego Death Confusion (Conscious Surrender?)
    Ego Death Confusion (Conscious Surrender?)
It can be painful but also not. It all depends on how you look at it.
Surrender for me is usually very mellow on psychedelics. I just surrender my life and die. There is no great struggle, no drama, no epic ordeal.
But it won't be like that for everyone. The more conscious and developed you are, the less struggle and drama there will be.
When it is realized that the ego never existed, there is no struggle with the death process. It feels totally organic and it is no big deal.
If you are making a big deal out of death, that is ego resisting, and that is itself the only obstacle, the very thing to surrender.
Kriya yoga helps a lot to pacify the ego-mind and all of its drama.
The ego-mind will naturally want to turn this entire enlightenment process into an epic ordeal. That's ego being ego.

  9. Did I have an actual INSIGHT?
Did I have an actual INSIGHT?
It's a nice start, but not nearly deep enough. It's still mostly intellectual understanding and the ego is still in near total control of your consciousness.
Keep questioning deeper until you stop feeling like you're inside the body or the head. Until your heart starts to pound in terror at the prospect of death. And then keep questioning even deeper until you actually die.
In self-inquiry your job is nothing short of collapsing all of physical reality. Keep questioning until the floor beneath your feet disappears.
This is a level of questioning most people do not think is possible. It should get very intense. It requires enormous presence and focus. Focus like you intend to burn a hole through a steel plate with your mind.
But at the same time also be gentle. Don't strain yourself.

  10. BANNED Ted Talks
    BANNED Ted Talks
5-MeO-DMT is consciousness. Chemicals are consciousness. Everything is consciousness.
When I snort 5-MeO, I am snorting myself. In the same way that I gave birth to myself out of my own vagina, since I am EVERYTHING.
If it sounds ridiculous, that's on you. The truth is stranger than fiction. It's your job to surrender to it, not to judge it.
Or... feel free to keep acting arrogant. The truth don't care how ignorant you are.

  11. Is there any reason for a Turquoise to be Vegan?
Is there any reason for a Turquoise to be Vegan?
@Mafortu Arguments and reasons are a stage Orange paradigm.
Turquoise does not act to be good from reason. Goodness is inherent to Turquoise consciousness. There is no reason to be good. You be good simply because you want to. For no reason!
Or be a selfish prick. Either one is good. Whatver turns you on.
To be truly good is to realize there is no difference between good and bad.
When your ego dissolves you will start to identify more with everything, including animals, and you will probably not want to play a part in factory farming, etc. But you also won't make a big self-righteous stink about it because you will realize there cannot be life without death.

  12. Spiral dynamics model breaks down under emotional mastery
Spiral dynamics model breaks down under emotional mastery
@How to be wise A stage Red or Blue person cannot have full emotional mastery because they are fundamentally deluded by ego at that stage. They can have a peak mystical experience, but they will not have full emotional mastery because that is a stage far beyond even enlightenment. That requires unimaginable degrees of consciousness which a stage Red or Blue person could not muster. The whole point of being at Red/Blue is that you are resisting full emotional mastery. If you got it, you'd transcend Red/Blue. At least at this day and age.
2000 years ago might have been a bit different because culture was so underdeveloped.

  13. Your level of formal education (POLL)
Your level of formal education (POLL)
I have a college degree in engineering. Education gives you a livelihood, but it does not give you life. The society’s whole interest is in how to exploit you, how to enslave you, how to use you in a more efficient way, almost like a machine.
Education is a hindrance on my spiritual journey.

  14. The Red Pill on what attracts women: Looks, Money, Status: BRUTAL
The Red Pill on what attracts women: Looks, Money, Status: BRUTAL
Are people still debating this topic?  it's old news.
Women want high character (ambition, work ethic, confidence,  having a purpose, self-esteem/respect yourself etc  + looks and money are below this
Men want looks (hip to waist ratio, facial symmetry, femininity yes they want some character too but it isn't as important

  15. Enlightened Beings & Psychedelics
    Enlightened Beings & Psychedelics
Yes, they will experience hallucinations. Their perceptual system will get scrambled but their sense of oneness will be unfazed (if they are deeply enlightened).
I know an enlightened master who took 1000ug of LSD. He could no longer distinguish if it was night or day. But he was still grounded in Nothingness.

  16. Can following intuition go wrong?
    Can following intuition go wrong?
    @Butters Yes you can.
Intuition alone is not enough. What's required is consciousness, intelligence, self-reflection, broad study, shadow work, emotional mastery, and openess to feedback.
Without all of those, I can almost guarantee you will go wrong.

  17. what if ...?
    what if ...?
There is no thing that creates thoughts. Thoughts arise within emptiness. Everything arises within emptiness.
You cannot "experience" emptiness with the senses. But you can be conscious of it. Because it is consciousness. Emptiness is self-aware. That's what existence is.

  18. Concepts and enlightenment
    Concepts and enlightenment
    Yes
The exception being that you will need some degree of conceptual understanding to avoid the traps common to the spiritual path.
Concepts are both your key out of the prison, and they are the prison itself.

  19. Brainwave Frequency Most Associated With Meditation?
Brainwave Frequency Most Associated With Meditation?
Alpha, although the deepest meditation for purposes of nonduality is not measured by a single wavelength but a phase sync of alpha and theta. You won't find an audio to do that one. You have to train your mind to sync the peaks of alpha and theta, which requires an EEG machine, which is too complicated to go into here.
Theta beats are good for purifying trauma and shadow work.

  20. Having a healthy ego, is that even a thing?
Having a healthy ego, is that even a thing?
A healthy ego is something like you see in Barack Obama. An unhealthy ego something like you see in Donald Trump.
An unhelathy ego is very insecure, clingy, greedy, closed, manipulative, dishonest, and well... self-centered. A healthy ego is the opposite.
Braden's work is a great way to move from unhealthy to healthy ego.
But it will not lead to ego-transcendence. That requires deeper teachings.

  21. How I Became Enlightened Fast And How You Can Do It To
How I Became Enlightened Fast And How You Can Do It To
Karoi Village In (Rajasthan) Bhilwara is famous for some great astrologers. After I completed my engineering degree and I was looking for a job. So I visited a astrologer with my maternal aunt, who visited him once few years before.
Astrologer was a young man , very good looking with large and shining eyes. He told us to sit down and wrote something on a writing slate with a chalk. Then he told my maternal aunt to ask question. My maternal aunt asked him a question. He told her to pick the slate on which he wrote something before question was asked, the answer for the question was already written on the slate. My maternal aunt told him that she visited him few years back. He told her the date and time of visit, questions asked by my maternal aunt and answers given by him. Dozens of people visit him every day still he remembered everything.
He never charged fees for his services, people used to donate 5-10 rupees if they wish, it was not a compulsion.
Then he rubbed the slate with a cloth and wrote something on the slate. The he told me to ask the question. My question was whether I will get a government job or not. He told me to turn the slate. It was written that I will get a job in private sector and then I will get a job in government sector, date of joining of both jobs were also mentioned. I asked him ,"do you practice yoga?" He replied ," meditation".
Few years later I found that everything he said was accurate.
When I was posted in Bhilwara city during my government job, I visited him once again but he was not using his psychic abilities now, he was telling future by asking date and place of birth, and he was not looking as graceful as he was looking before.
After I visited the astrologer with my maternal aunt, I discussed it with a friend in Bhilwara, he told me about another astrologer in a nearby village. He was a old man living in a hut, before asking him a question I said to him," should I tell you my date of birth", he said , "What's the need?", he wrote my date of birth on a paper. Then I asked him , "How can I achieve mental peace?", he said, "you are the first person who has asked such question", after this I discussed few other things with him.
I was a hardcore atheist raised in atheistic family, but my belief in atheism shattered after few more such incidents.

  22. No time/energy to do self actualizing work?
No time/energy to do self actualizing work?
@Psyche_92 Yes, this is a huge problem.
What plan could you make to restructure your life so that you have significantly more time for self-actualization work?
This will probably involve making some radical structural changes, like re-thinking your entire career. This will involve some tough choices. And that is precisely how growth happens: tough choices, strategy, and emotional labor. You must be strategic and position yourself long-term so that you have more free time. If that means you spend 2 years re-training yourself for a new job, for example, then that's what you must do.
When I was in your shoes, I decided to quit my career and start my own business just so that I had the free time and money to do what I needed to do. It took me a 3-4 year detour to get my first business stabilized before I could really dig into my life purpose.
Working 10 hours per day simply will not work. It's a terrible strategy that you must now figure a way out of. Not only does it preclude self-actualization work, it will destroy your health and well-being in the long-term.
    Work smarter, not harder.
After years of strategically laying my groundwork I now have the freedom to not work for 10 years without any financial problems. That's what good strategy will yield. I could retire and go meditate for 1 year straight without any worries, come back, and still be richer than when I left. This situation did not happen by accident! I deliberately designed it this way because I realized a long time ago that freedom was the #1 variable to living the kind of life I envision. It's very hard to self-actualize when you are a wage slave.
See video: How To Be A Strategic Motherfucker. I'm real serious about it.

  23. Would Be Grateful for Help with Stage Yellow Confusion
Would Be Grateful for Help with Stage Yellow Confusion
@TreeJeff You basically got it right.
The realities of real-world politics and government are extremely complex, messy, and difficult. When you go to apply Spiral Dynamics in the US political system, for example, all hell will break loose. All your lofty Yellow ideals will the tarred and feathered. You will be called a pedophile, a charlatan, and worse. And even if you succeed in getting elected President or Senator, or whatever, since you are not an absolute monarch, your power to change policy will be extremely limited because you have to work with all the other parties in power, who will not be at Yellow, and will look at you like a leper.
It doesn't matter what color stage you are at, or even if you are totally enlightened like the Buddha himself, if you were President of the US you would have to make incredibly painful choices that would involve the deaths of hundreds or even thousands of people REGARDLESS of your choice! This would be true even for a fully enlightened Turquoise leader! This is the part about governance that laypeople do not understand: simply because of the scale of a country like the US -- 330 million people -- most decisions will result in deaths of tens, hundreds, or thousands. Just by deciding to remove regulations on car pollution, you will kill people. Just by deciding to fund an infrastructure program, you will kill people. And so on.
A Yellow leader understands all this. So does a Turquoise leader. Yellow and Turquoise leaders are mature enough to understand that their actions will result in many deaths, which is why they would take their job very seriously and work very hard to make the best decisions possible. They would also know that their decisions could save tens of thousands of lives relative to a Tier 1 leader.
Being Yellow, Turquoise, or enlightened does not mean you will be a flawless leader whose policies please everyone and hurt no one. People will get killed and hurt under the watch. They will even get killed and hurt by your highest ideals and most noble policy changes.
Those are the harsh reality of governance. Which is precisely why we need highly conscious leaders in power, not people like Trump, who's actions will result in harm to millions as he approaches policy in an ignorant, simple-minded, and narcissistic manner.
And BTW, the people will also hate you because they are at Blue, Orange, and Green, and you as Yellow will not satisfy their bloodthirsty tribal desires to attack the enemy color. So as Yellow, even if you succeed, at least 1/3rd of the country will think of you as a traitorous devil.
    Still want to be leader?

  24. Religion and fully enlightened people?
    Religion and fully enlightened people?
@pluto You have an idealized version of enlightenment. This notion of "unconditionally loving" is a pipe dream. In practice, people are still people and they still have many petty issues, including shadow issues, bad habits, and cultural conditioning of which they are unconscious despite their enlightenment. And on top of all that, there is still development, which is a separate thing. You might be loving but undeveloped.
Enlightenment does NOT make you a moral person. We have discussed this issue to death. Being a good person is a lot harder than enlightenment.

  25. Religion and fully enlightened people?
    Religion and fully enlightened people?
@pluto You are confusing enlightenment with stages of development.
A person can be truly enlightened, but undeveloped. And vice versa.
Technically, enlightenment is accessible at any stage of the Spiral.
