  1. Why do we need truth?
    Why do we need truth?
@sleeperstakes so much suffering derives from the belief we are something other than the magnificent truth of what we really are. You’ll be able to ‘see through’ everything others can’t. You would live life without fear or doubt or monkey mind. It truly is dying and yet still living the rest of your life. IMO, it feels like waking up everyday and winning the lottery of love. Something I think is worth pointing out, that rarely gets mentioned and would be hard to believe...our default / or baseline does change drastically.

Dude. Classifying fun as high quality or low quality can severely impede you from enjoying moments. Be free to enjoy everything dude

  3. The market and passion
    The market and passion
I’m taking Leo’s Life Purpose Course now.  I thought I had a Life Purpose, but I made the mistake of not aligning it with career.  I was all confused about career.  But yes. I’ve always been living a life purpose.  My life purpose has been until recently to write a book.  But now I realize that that’s not quite right strategically.  Life Purpose is about career and much deeper than what I thought.  I lacked a lot of awareness about the theory of Life Purpose.  That’s why I recommend everyone do Leo’s Life Purpose Course.  What you think you know about Life Purpose is almost certainly wrong!  This is one example of how theory can be massively important in Personal Development.

  4. The market and passion
    The market and passion
You’re probably not gonna be satisfied with that lifestyle forever by the way.  Life Purpose is a dynamic thing.  It’s almost like chasing a calling that’s a little bit smarter and craftier than you are.  Most of the time you miss it by miles not inches.  Then you catch up to it, and it runs off behind the weeds again to hide and plot it’s next mission.  That’s the Muse and what it’s like to chase the Muse.  If you settle-down, you have no chance.  Then the Mind has you trapped and you’ll become fixed like a stone.  That’s why you can’t be the camper you gotta be the climber in life.  You gotta keep up with that Muse.  And you gotta be willing to bust through the fear to follow it.  The Ego will try to stop you from doing this.  That’s the Big Boss in the video game right there. And who beats the Big Boss?  Very few people.  The most committed people.  And even then, with a stroke of luck gracing them too.

  5. Focus On The Future
    Focus On The Future
    @Caterpillar
I'd argue you need all three (past, present, future).
Past = What lessons can I learn from observing my behavior and the behavior of others? What lessons can I learn from history?
Present = When you're actually in the action
Future = Visioning your future, strategizing about your life purpose

  6. What’s the Distinction Between a ‘Spiritual Ego’ and a Genuine Guru
What’s the Distinction Between a ‘Spiritual Ego’ and a Genuine Guru
Genuine guru: speaks from experience, loving, humble, honest (tells people what they need to hear), no agenda, not dogmatic, and caring.
Spiritual ego: refers to scriptures, dogmatic, lies to attract people, hidden agenda, pretends to love but tries to change people, and hasn't experienced non-duality.

  7. What’s the Distinction Between a ‘Spiritual Ego’ and a Genuine Guru
What’s the Distinction Between a ‘Spiritual Ego’ and a Genuine Guru
But if the Truth cannot hold it's own in an argument, then false teachings that can hold will prevail. Concepts are rather important for spreading the Truth (for Humanity's sake).  For the dream characters that we are  For spreading love & freedom and for having a better dream.

  8. Paradox insight
    Paradox insight
The mind cannot deal with paradox. Only the True Self - Being - consciousness - Soul can operate out of paradox. The mind is useful for the purpose of understanding both sides of the coin, but it will NEVER be able to operate out of paradox. The mind can accept only one truth. This truth is relative to a second truth. This truth is subjective and relative. Perception is subjective. The mind is the receiver and the brain is the receiver... not designed to conceive.
So for example: two sides of the coin - I like going to the gym - I don't like going to the gym. I meditate 3x a day - I don't meditate at all.  This is easy - this is hard. The mind cannot stick to both. (probably but only short-term, and not in a relaxed state)
So it's not about What you see (paradox-the whole coin), but how you see it (the right side of the coin).

All boundaries are illusory, but all boundaries will be maintained for you to even have an experience.

  9. How to perceive the present moment?
How to perceive the present moment?
@realname Your question is asked from the materialist paradigm which assumes a brain, an external world, a subject, and an object which is being perceived.
But this entire model is wrong & merely conceptual.
There actually is no such thing as perception. All experience is direct and immediate. It is BEING. There is zero delay. You have raw, direct, unmediated access to everything you experience -- if you would just ditch all your conceptual frameworks and assumptions.

  10. Inside of a cult leader's mind

Watch your asses when following/idolizing any human being. People do that because they are too lazy to actually do the work themselves. No one will enlighten you but yourself.

  11. The Idea That Non-duality Includes Duality Doesn’t Resonate With Me
The Idea That Non-duality Includes Duality Doesn’t Resonate With Me
"More accurate term" is a relative notion. For different people different terms will work best given their preconceptions. And everyone has their unique preconceptions.
To me, "death" is the best description of it. But other people might not resonate with that.
Personally, I like using the most shocking descriptions of it, because it's a very shocking thing. To me, the essence of enlightenment is the shock and total mindfuck of it. To me, any description which leaves that out, is highly misleading because it doesn't properly communicate the staggering radicalness of this insight.
"Death" is a great term because when the average person hears that, they go, "OMG! That can't be true! It's too radical! He must mean something more metaphorical by that." But no... I mean your actual death! That communicates the gravity of this thing.
The problem with "Being in the present moment" is that is has zero gravity to it. It's a completely non-threatening description. People misconstrue that as like sitting at the bus stop waiting for a bus. That ain't it.
Calling enlightenment "Being in the present moment" is like calling a nuclear bomb a firecracker because both are a kind of explosion. But the magnitude of the explosion makes all the difference in the world!

  12. How To Learn To Be An Entrepreneur?
How To Learn To Be An Entrepreneur?
@NJM50 You can start right now. Sit down and think up a way to sell something people want to buy. As an entrepreneur you should have 100s of ideas. You can start selling stuff on Amazon very quickly, as just one example.
There are 100s of online courses available for how to start virtually any kind of business.

  13. "Eliminating" The Senses To Become Present(An 18 Year Old Needs Help)
"Eliminating" The Senses To Become Present(An 18 Year Old Needs Help)
Music like dancing is something that is appreciated for itself. The movment of time seems to cease. It’s some of the few activities we enjoy and don’t project the outcome of the ending as it’s motivating factor. There’s no specific goal other than to dig it’s happening. It’s sort of a timeless state. Music is a great way to experience this state of no me, but be careful this can be a mechanical crutch that can become a pleasure. And where there is pleasure pain is also. It’s not bad just needs to be accompanied with clear perception of what’s going on in the mind so you can avoid getting caught in various deceptions down the road.
Either way keep doing what you want. It’s a beautiful thing to experience such a feeling.
And by the way experience has no place when it comes to freedom form the center.

  14. Does the Mind Create Time Out of the Illusion of Change in the Now
Does the Mind Create Time Out of the Illusion of Change in the Now
Time is duration. Duration allows for change, movement, growth ect. If it wasn't for time everything would be piled up in one place all at one moment. Which it may very well be the case in reality. But it seems to me that the universe is a sort of warp field on the absolute. Hence such things as time, space, gravity, mind, matter, energy. A vortex of vibrations with light as it's driving force.

  15. I'm scared :( I don't know what to do now in my life
I'm scared :( I don't know what to do now in my life
@John Iverson There is much more to life that just enlightenment.
If you want success in any field, from finances to relationships to sex to health, you will have to work your ass off for it, no matter how enlightened you are. And if you are too lazy and undisciplined to succeed at these basic things, I would bet good money that you will fail at enlightenment too.
There is no escaping self-discipline and hard work in life. Stop thinking of enlightenment as a shortcut to avoiding work.
Decide how you want you life to be, and then get to work creating that. It's that simple.

  16. My life with women
    My life with women
    @Ross
You've got a long road ahead of you man. But it seems like you're open to changing, so I'll leave this here:

General gist is this is gonna take a lot of work. You're going to have to find ways to practice socializing, improve your inner confidence and much more. But it can be done.
If going out and socializing is too hard right now, you might have to take a step back and just work on you for a while.
Start a meditation habit. Study what women are attracted to. Get some exercise into your daily routine. And then build from there.

  17. Using UN Goals as a guide to find my Life purpose VS relying fully on inner Wisdom
Using UN Goals as a guide to find my Life purpose VS relying fully on inner Wisdom
I'd really question the assumption that the UN knows what it's doing. Don't fall victim to the authority bias.
Anyway, if something on that list strikes you as important, fine. Start moving in that direction.
Your life purpose is about narrowing the infinite potential list of things you COULD DO into that small niche of a thing you ACTUALLY want to do.
So if you're just getting started, it's okay to go broad. You'll get more specific over time as you learn and development more self-awareness as to what you truly value. Just start moving.

  18. Extremely angry while meditating
    Extremely angry while meditating
Continue to be fully aware of your emotions and bask in them until they pass, obviously while still focusing on your breath, but continue to not label anything - nothing about this is bad, it is simply your own psyche trying to keep the illusion in place.
Ever notice how someone would get defensive if you told someone they really didn't matter and wasn't real? They would lash back in similar ways, you're not directly telling your ego this - but the deeper you go, the more you imply this indirectly.
    Keep it up, brother.

  19. Extremely angry while meditating
    Extremely angry while meditating
The first few months are the hardest, because you're basically purging all your subconscious.
After that, even though it can still be pretty crazy, it doesn't really matter, cause you don't identify that much to your thoughts and emotions anymore.

  20. Why does the ego corrupt everything?
Why does the ego corrupt everything?
@realname Worlds have nothing to do with logic. Logic is a symbolic system invented by humans. Like a language.
From what I understand at this point, consciousness can literally take any form at all that it wants, without restriction. There are no worlds per se. There are just different dreams.
Imagine an infinite mind which can dream up whatever the hell it wants. Right now, it happens to be dreaming up you.

  21. Why does the ego corrupt everything?
Why does the ego corrupt everything?
You should familiarize yourself with formal logic.
There are an infinite number of self-consistent different kinds of logics. Not in other worlds, but just in THIS world! You can study them in university.
What you refer to as "logic" does not exist. That's a gross over-simplification.

  22. Government based on spiral dynamics!?
    Government based on spiral dynamics!?
@Mohamad Tahmas Trump isn't merely Orange, he's way down at Red.
In a democracy how can you have 1% (Yellow) in power over the other 99% (below Yellow)? You can't. The politicians must pander to and reflect the average consciousness of the voters. In America, the average consciousness of the voter is Red/Blue/Orange, so that's mostly the only kind of leaders you will get.
If a Yellow or above leader came into power, he would be demonized and hated by 90% of the population because he wouldn't reflect their values.
You can see that sorta happened with Obama. Stage Red/Blue people absolutely hated him. Including Trump.
If a Turquoise leader came in control, he would be killed. Examples:
Jesus Gandhi MLK JFK (he wasn't anywhere near Turquoise, but still) Robert Kennedy (also not Turquoise, but still) For a leader to be effective, he must be only 1 step above his followers. Any more than that, and they will revolt against him. The problem with Trump is that he is actually 1 step below his followers, which is why we see the disaster unfolding today.

  23. Paul Hedderman
    Paul Hedderman
He is one who has journeyed the path of much suffering, addiction, hitting rock bottom, etc -- which can be seen in his countenance. I suppose his approach appeals to others on that path, and the path of recovery, as he can relate to those perspectives. He came through AA, and possibly (not sure) studied A Course In Miracles, and has some informal zen background. If you're wondering if his teaching and approach is valid, I suppose it is very subjective and relative to one's POV. I can't judge it, not having taken that kind of journey, but if it is working in some way for those who resonate with it, then to each their own.
I seem to recall that I did watch his interview on batgap.com, when it first came out ... seemed like genuine enough guy.

  24. Why does the ego corrupt everything?
Why does the ego corrupt everything?
Your idea of nothing is backwards. Nothing isn't nothing, it's something.
If you want to know what nothing looks like: it looks PRECISELY like what you call the "physical world", but also every other kind of world imaginable.
    Something and nothing are one.
    ---------
You are not going to understand this with the mind. It is impossible. You're asking questions about the Absolute here. The Absolute is beyond your questions or anything you can imagine.
Even after you experience the Absolute, it is still impossible to imagine it. That's how Absolute it is.
It's sort of like seeing Bigfoot, but he looks so weird that you cannot see him again in your mind's eye even after you've clearly seen him. Unless, of course, you're looking at him right now.
Imagine if you will that reality is an infinite mirage. It only appears to exist, but actually doesn't. Because there is no arbiter of what is real or unreal, everything is nothing. There is no such thing as an absolute reference frame for reality. It's sort of like being in outer space, where up and down have no meaning without the Earth's gravity as a reference frame.
Your existence is the reference frame defining your reality. Without that reference frame, there is nothing. And your reference frame is itself a fiction.

@egoless nice!   I digested all the loa I could find many years ago, until it was a default understanding. What surfaced as the best, IMO, is Napoleon Hills ‘How to Think & Grow Rich’, and (YouTube) Abraham Hicks. A lot of Ester’s material comes from Napoleon, or maybe a lot of Napoleon comes from Abraham. Hard to say. ?
