  1. guys, since i'm new to the topic. please tell, is it safe? (starting seeking out information and practising it) after all, it's not our usual self-enquiry activities...i mean when you get in touch with the unknown, won't it hurt you in any way? like accidents would start to happen, ordinary lifestyle would be ruined etc
  2. the change won't happen overnight, just keep on doing your stuff but remain conscious of your desire to change and be more harsh on yourself, like try looking for a job in order not to be financially dependent on your father
  3. @Girzo first you fix your subconsciousness, then you fix your life by external actions...?
  4. i'd say anger is indeed a good fuel for outstanding actions, but just like a fuel, it runs out very fast...meaning to keep you motivated, you need to keep your source of anger on the appropriate level... my advice is to work on releasing this feeling and cultivate a more positive drive within yourself
  5. you are great for doing such a thing, seriously. cold showers are artificial suffering though
  6. first, subconsciously, you seem to need approval from your parents. my opinion, first you need to let go of needing to be approved by them. and please don't blame them for being mundane or misunderstanding...because they are complete people with their set of mind just like everybody else. second, don't let them to have that much power over your life. this doesn't mean you should give up studies and go do whatever you want...for money, just try to get a job. first a simple job, then you will learn how to manage your studies and work and will go for something bigger, meaning more cash. you confidence will rise and your parents will recognize an independent and strong personality in you, so you will earn their respect and they will ease up their control. third, going to school develops your brain, please listen to Leo's videos about studying, you will find a lot of beneficial information, on how to make studies a part of your self-development regimen.
  7. are you Lev or Leonid?
  8. Leo, please share you vision on how to raise a non-neurotic, mentally stable person who can fully function in a human society, without neglecting self-enligtenment principles (and all you teach us in your videos)? I mean kids mostly operate on a low-conscious level especially when raised by parents who never heard of self-development (and some even of any kind of development). You can leave your kid with a childhood trauma...Imagine these: 1) A kid is bullied (hopefully not). You teach him to be patient with his bullies and look into their personal problems and not to take things seriously and basically just stay calm and silent. Such a behaviour makes his bully even more persistent and angry (especially when he feels support of his group, because, well, chimpery as you once said). This leaves your kid in a misery and such a non-responsive behaviour makes him look weak into the eyes of other kids and even adults. 2) Your kid wants things that other kids have (clothes, journals, treats, gadgets etc). You teach him how meaningful it is to be attached to things (even if your family can afford it for him) and this again leaves him cheap into the eyes of his age group. The kid might end up feeling isolated and worse that the others. 3) A kid gets insulted (by another kid or adult) at your presence. You won't talk back to a person who did this because you won't accept his anger (from an enlightened person's view) and basically do not protect your child from the offender. Or you just tell him to accept another person's abusive behaviour (which we know is not the case, but a little kid might think different). Again, the kid is left with a sense of being unprotected and basically refused in support. My point is, no matter how spiritual and understanding towards society and monkey mind of others you might be, it is probably not useful in your parental strategy since a child's psyche is vulnerable.
  9. Saint Petersburg, Russia...
  10. Rhodiola supplement gives really weird dreams i would use this herb to hack into subconcious world, but i can't simply decrypt what is happening!! how would you derive this knowledge about yourself from the image of a snake?
  11. @Anirban657 it kind of works on some other level...like hearing a song you've been thinking the whole day (and not highly rotated pop-shite, something more old). these are math laws, i guess. i remember watching an episode of VSauce, where he talked about some coincidences are simply coincidences, no matter how unbelievable they are
  12. i haven't researched the topic of karma yet. but out of the knowledge i already have, i think i don't
  13. @egoeimai umm i genuinely think that the universe is kind of indifferent. just see how many evil people attracted all the good stuff and how many nice people attracted all the awful things
  14. @Anirban657 there are still things that are not coming...there were so many times when it felt just right and there was no outcome. the intensity of feelings were just the same. like some things are destined for you, and some not...
  15. please help me evaluate whether it's a life purpose... whenever a topic of a life purpose rises, i can think of anything but...moving abroad! no changing humanity, not becoming a sage, not mastering something, not this, not that...simply changing location and living a decent and calm life there. since the very childhood, i'm literally haunted by this idea of moving the hell out. the question, is this my purpose or just a stepping stone to something i haven't realised yet? spiritual seekers and experienced self-developers, please share your opinions
  16. i've been on a lecture the other day and realised how freakin' boring the educational system is... knowledge and learning are amazing, they help to understand how the universe works, and its true value is being diminished within all these educational institutes
  17. recently i started having this feeling, that the law of attraction works the opposite...considering the concept of no free will...you don't attract something into your life, you anticipate it. you think that you attract things while they're coming to you as they supposed to, and you simply sense its appearance
  18. i did live in a small town pretty close to another country (40 km) and had to leave at the age of 7 there might be a connection now that you mention this...but it was still my home country...why crave for a foreign land ever since?
  19. why need to eliminate introversion? like it's a flaw...introversion is cool! i would suggest you continue talking to people (regardless of everything you said which is also relatable to me), just maybe try to see a person as a unique being worth talking to, try to discover/uncover something special about him or her. we do not necessarily communicate to exchange information, sometimes this is just a simple social act that has some other logic behind it
  20. i remember Leo saying in one of his videos "Many of you don't even want to do self-actualization, and that is fine" what's wrong in watching all these videos of Leo or other gurus just to boost your mood or get a different perspective on things...self-development is totally deliberate and you can use accumulated information and knowledge in other areas of your life and don't even use it, just have in mind. this information has a lot more quality than browsing facebook or 9gag or watching tv, so you're already doing yourself a favor
  21. @alyra i wanted to degrade this feeling to the point of making travelling my life purpose, and again, it didn't work - moving away would remain the only choice. even though for the time being, i have enough opportunities to allocate my resources for travel. and whenever i'm back from somewhere, it feels more like home than the actual home...
  22. @Girzo i wish i knew... this idea have sat with me for almost all my life. i feel deeply connected with something bigger when i think of going somewhere, visiting airports or train stations bring a wonderful sensation. this is why i'm confusing it with a life purpose, because this feeling is so strong @MattP thank you! this indeed might be a call of something more powerful, for me to decide what to do with life @Arkandeus i only feel the fear of the idea of not moving out this is the major reason why i have started personal development at first place. up to this day (or maybe a couple of years behind) i was sure that if i want it badly, it will happen on its own...which didn't prove itself at all, haha, now i'm more realistic and self-reliant about making it true. kind of sad, so much time have been wasted
  23. having to do stuff and promote your values when actually used to live in an observant-like manner and be happy about it...
  24. @Afonso Think of it as you can life such a lifestyle just choose not too (because you have other activities more aligned with your values). Seriously, what prevents you from living such a "crazy" life? Nothing (in a sense of resources). I think what makes people bitter the most is that they become envious of other people's lifes because of lack of resources (mostly material) to lead such a lifestyle...But in your case you have everything in your hands so no need to worry, just take more joy in what you do on a regular basis and think of this girl as a source of new information. For instance, sometimes I feel jealous of my colleagues travelling and then realize that I can do the same (considering that we have similar incomes), just choose not to, because I'd better save money for something else (education, clothes etc). So I simply listen to them and feel happy for them while minding my own agenda. P.S. Partying is fun once or twice, however in my opinion its useless...it doesn't develop you as a person and there's a number of more civilized ways to get socialized. This doesn't mean that this girl leads a wrong lifestyle. Just see her experience complimentary to your own.
