  1. in his Dream Killers video series Leo says, that you're never too old to start something new in his other video (How to be patient? I might be wrong), however, he tells that you should begin the earliest possible, in order to reach the point when you start growing exponentially how do you accelerate yourself to meet this point, if started something "too late"?
  2. @Shin @Barbarian Number 8 @Octafish thank you for the support @krazzer thank you, however this man already had some solid background. anyway this is very courageous of him to begin at this age...he looks quite energetic though. why people only judge by age...
  3. @Samra thank you! and great to hear about your plan. will not listen to him @Elisabeth true, thank you for the support. and i'm planning on changing jobs. expecially after being told that there's no point since no one will hire me as a developer (yes that was his words as well). such a pitiful dude...
  4. same here! how do i avoid using PayPal?
  5. @Elisabeth was told by my boss that i'm too "old" (literally) to have started programming...after a year of concentrated effort (sometimes quite painful) and actually applying my new skills at work... i'm 30 btw and he's 39... @Shin @Jackthelad best of luck at your begginings! @aurum great advice actually. probably the only way to break through... @Samra thank you for the support, means a lot to me @Steph1988 thank you, i have an eye on this book for a long time...
  6. the last time i got this sound was around my family...i felt pressure around my ears as well... it is possible to hear the sound when not alone?
  7. @Psyche_92 totally agree. i would still be not motivated to give up this stuff, just as @Torkys suggest, would try to develop my consiousness, so i could come to these things effortlessy. for instance, i never even thought of giving up smoking (was sure it was my "special" ritual) and when i understood through conscious work importance of a good health and clear mind (for better performance in life), this habit had discontinued without me making a big deal of it. there's a load of other things to work upon though, that is why it seems unbearable
  8. yes this is very true you've got to keep a certain distance to be develop a different relationship with the world (unlike the one you had growing up). are you on good terms with your family anyway?
  9. negative thinking can give you a good momentum it also keeps your alert and considerable
  10. "feel physically/violently threatened by others you work with"?? where do you work? how did you end up there in the first place?
  11. first get some fresh air, second - know that this is homeostasis kicking in ignore the latter and keep on going forward...you'll be glad one day that you persisted
  12. @Alexo45 i know this feeling of perfectionism can be quite overwhelming i think you've got to get prepared to accept who you are in any situations, didn't make the desired thing - think "the hell with that" and learn from the situation to try even better. just try to perceive anything that happens as a journey of a human being evolving, including step backs remember, this is not always the smartest people who finish universities and take nice jobs. in fact some of them are, but they are not you, so why would you bother? the world is way too complicated for you to predict everything, how would you know you're not going to get hired just because you think you're not good enough etc?
  13. you might simply overexhaust a pleasure center in your brain so it takes some time to recharge
  14. there's a strange phenomena going on in my dreams lately... a person that is very defensive towards me in real life always appears friendly to me when i see her in my sleep. this happened 2 times for sure. on the other hand, there's another person who i think is positive towards me, and whenever i see her in my dreams we either fight or she says unpleasant things. i'm wondering, what is it - my subconsious picking real vibes off them? or is it just a reflection of how i want them to feel about me? who might have experienced something like this?
  15. @starsofclay yeah i do have tinnitus...once got such a strong noise, thought my head was going to explode! yes it doesn't last long, for me up to 5 sec
  16. @AleksM how long did the sound last? does it occur at the night time or irrelevantly?
  17. really? i thought high pitch noises are sort of intracranial pressure raising up? the second version sympathizes with me more though
  18. i once had numbers going on before my eyes (1 and 0) after waking up. can't tell was i partially dreaming that moment or what... you post made me remember this experience...and #2 is pretty common for me too
  19. of course it's not late!! i know it's easy to get anxious reaching 25, but over the time you understand, that you was still very young at this age. please go for it and don't hesitate!
  20. good topic, this is also important for me. not like staying aggressive, but not letting my ego dissolve completely, especially in conflicting situations. my approach would be 1) stay calm; 2) maintain a powerful pose (stand or sit straight, look into the eye); 3) react to the situation - don't avoid any confrontation! - but explain calm and respectful, why oneself the behaviour makes you feel unconfortable. there goes a non-verbal attack, people tend to feel your body language. hope this is a good solution, because straight-forward aggressive response makes you feel no less worse, than surrending, and cause side effects. but there are people who really need a punch (physical or verbal), and this is where i'm left totally hesitant. how to behave then?
  21. indeed, how old are you?
  22. @kieranperez most likely not, because if it was a solution that you need, there would be no room for hesitation what is the reason you quit college? lack of discipline or the major didn't resonate with you?
  23. first, i would advise not to pick your family's negativity on your actions. they are just defending their old ways of living, which is homeostasis. so please don't feel guilty for doing this. second, please give up the need for approval from others, anybody - family, friends etc. your inner work is your dialog with the nature, not with particular people third, maybe you should pretend to give in to your family, like say "Yes dad i won't do this anymore", while working on being more independent, then move out and start refreshed. while we are dependent on others, they have the moral right to show us around...unfortunately the only way is to let go of their control over us
