And i already said that considering existent and non existent during self enquiry has helped me a lot in a break through, I found intensely questioning and doubting existence to be a powerful tool, not sure why you would tell me to drop something that has worked well for me lol. -

if you dont like it then fair enough you don't need to come telling me this guy is a salad guy and how i need to find a better teaching. Not sure why you felt the need to share that. Clearly you're here to socialise seeing as leo is not your teacher and "some guy who runs this website" and dont like complicated reads? what you dont like your friends on facebook or something? I listen to Leo as a teacher, and I listen to many others sources, doesn't mean i agree with him on everything, for example I disagree with him on this, to me nothingness is identical to non-existence, the absence of everything, if nothingness is an existent thing then you would be able to prove it, it wouldn't be this intangible, invisible, inconceivable thing which is basically describing non-existence, nothingness is beyond everything. -

lol? you do realise even leo has a quote from rumi in his signature. -
blazed replied to MarkusSweden's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
"In the existence of your love, I have become non-existent. This non-existence linked to you is better than all existence" --Rumi ------- "Non-existence is an Ocean and the world foam. The Sea’s boiling brings the foam into existence. Iran and Turan are but two of its flecks. In this boiling, tell me, what is effort? Why do these patient men boast of their patience? God has made nonexistence appear existent and respectable; He has made Existence appear in the guise of nonexistence. He has hidden the Sea and made the foam visible. He has concealed the Wind and shown you the dust. The whole world has taken the wrong way, for they fear nonexistence, while it is their refuge. The Absolute Being works in nonexistence—what but nonexistence is the workshop of the Maker of existence? Return from existence to nonexistence! You are seeking the Lord and you belong to Him! Nonexistence is a place of income, flee it not! The existence of more and less is a place of expenditure. God’s workshop is nonexistence, so everything outside the workshop is worthless. What do I know if I exist or not? But this much I do know, oh Beloved: When I exist I am nonexistent, and when I am nonexistent I exist! Were your body’s existence to be naughted, then your soul would be exalted—after naughting is complete, you will be in but God’s Oneness. For a lifetime you have made trial of your own existence. Once you must try out nonexistence! The beloved said, “You have done all these things, but open your ears wide and listen well: You have not accomplished the root of the root of love and devotion—what you have done is the branches.” The lover said, “Tell me, what is that root.” She said, “To die and become nonexistent.” Therefore be bewildered and distraught, nothing less, so that God’s help may come to you from before and behind. Once you have become bewildered, dizzy, and annihilated, then your spiritual state will say, “Lead us on the Straight Path!” In this path, anything other than confusion and madness is distance and alienation from God. Oh God, show to the spirit that station where speech grows up without words, so the pure spirit may fly toward the wide expanse of Nonexistence—an expanse exceedingly open and spacious, from which this imagination and existence find nourishment. Images are narrower than Nonexistence—therefore imagination is the cause of heartache. Existence is still narrower than imagination—therefore within it full moons become crescents. The existence of the world of sense perception and colors is still narrower, for it is a cramped prison. The cause of narrowness is composition and multiplicity, and the senses drag toward composition. Know that the World of Unity lies in the other direction from the senses. If you want Oneness, go in that direction! -- Rumi That's a lot of Non-existance talk from Rumi! -

It really doesn't take a genius to realize that nonexistence counteracts itself. By that definition you are right consciousness is reflecting on something being absent. You can call it somethingness in nothingness. That's exactly like saying Existence within non-existence. It's all the same shit for me. What is real? because in that state everything is real and unreal. Even saying "I am" or saying "this is existence" in that deep state breaks the state itself. There is absolute no self reflection and no confirmation. http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/nonexistent synonyms. Anyway just my experience, it really paid off for me to question existence itself. -
works for me, tested it again just now.

My understanding is because non-existance by its very nature and definition means that "it doesnt exist" it applies to itself as "non-existence", leaving only the possible thing "existance" to remain. But the emptiness is full of non-existent and existent information, that's what I meant. Everything that is not within your awareness is non-existent to you. If i showed a beautiful picture to a blind man, does it exist for him or not? Non-existence could also be used as a word for emptiness, no self, nothingness. it's just another label or word like the rest of them. The true self reveals itself when all sensory and mind activity has stopped yet there is an intense focus in the present moment or existence. Anyway my biggest breakthrough was focusing on existence and non-existence at the same time, as in trying to verify what existence is, if its real, and i was intensely focusing on that point and suddenly I felt my whole body dissolve away and my mind activity stopped and I was overcome with powerful energy. Words can't express it, it was the first time i felt something like that and it was a big deal for me because i don't do any drugs or substances so I am always as sober as heck and reality always feels as real as real can get (very grounded) so its extremely hard to enter these blissful states and noself states for me. But it feels good to get glimpses of what is potentially there. By the way I watched your lastest blog video and pretty much agreeing with everything you say, its almost the same as my own experience, I forgot to mention before my body dissolved away I was getting intense energy of death approaching almost like a panic attack and I actually remember I was surrendering to die and letting go of all the precious things to me, it wasn't like I was mentally letting go but more like i was dying, entering oblivion and leaving all these things behind, fortunately I don't have much to give up, makes it easier to surrender lol. -

It didn't go so well with me when I said pretty much the same thing on here lol. Leo, its sort of a tricky question to put into words and kind of pointless, but would like to hear your opinion on it to expand on perspectives. Would you say existence and non-existence is the same thing? That this is the nothingness and we are in it. That consciousness and nothingness is the same, to put it into words consciousness arises from nothingness. The mind structured and organize the unreal to seem real. Tried to make sense, and in return created a powerful illusion. I was lucky enough to have two very powerful experiences of noself this month, I was really trying to focus and feel into what existence and non-existence is, and the body ceased to exist, it just melted away everything melted away but it didn't feel like sleep, it felt like a very powerful energy that i labelled as "pure consciousness", I saw this as to be truth, the face that I was before before my biological body was born. At the time it didn't feel like an experience but seeing as I am talking about the past now i must refer to it as an experience, actually it was more like a cease of everything, a cease of experience, yet so much aliveness and energy. My goal now is to integrate this to more day to day activity, because its so easy to fall back into identifying with the ego. It's so hard to be on point all the time. -
Haha cmon there's not that much drama.
-
The irony is that you quote the hyenas and mantaray episode whilst kind of pouring gas into the fire (bringing it up again) , we gone over this a thousand times like Leo says in the video, do not use his video to call out other people (you are implying it). Me and robert are ok. there's no hard feelings.

Fixed the img for you lol. WHERE'S THE CONTENT LEO! -
Me? I don't really have any desire or amusement from slapping someone. I used to have a punching bag though and it was a good stress reliever and a way to let out explosive energy. Appreciate the kind words, I'm just recycling information that reality/the universe has given me, they all came from somewhere else, someone else, and it's forever changing experiences. The only things I am sure of as a constant never changing exprience is the silence/emptiness/nothingness that is not changing. I remember a quote somewhere maybe it was here on this forum: a man asked a blind man "what is it like to be blind? is it dark/black? The blind man replied "What is it like to not see from the back of your head?" what would the world look like if we had echolocation

First guy is Mike Dahlquist, why do i even know that...

He's still at it. This entire thread: Robert "your opinion is wrong, your logic is wrong, nothingness is not real, your experiences are invalid, go meditate more to be at my level". & "I know it all, my opinion is the best, my logic is truth, I know everything you know nothing, listen to me, STUPIDS!" & "stop putting words in my mouth!!!" Trolling with a sprinkle of saltiness. You win man, you are right! PS. i dont even know what we are debating about, all i remember is robert just disagreeing and ridiculing others whilst quoting them.

Exaggeration and tough responses are sometimes necessary, I see all kinds of gurus and wise people making exaggerated claims. You can also downplay everything like politicians do whenever it suits them. Basically bottom like, help people if you like helping people, day by day, process by process, regardless of results. Not because its the noble thing to do or it makes you a better person than others (more ego bigging itself up). For example giving charity money is only good when it's discreet, not when you shouting off the top of your lungs about how good you are for giving money away like most celebrities, just trying to get onto people's good side. You can do what the buddha did, to be fair most of the time the buddha just sat in his own blissfulness people came to him if they wanted or not, he didnt care. Guy took care of himself first before anyone. You're responsible for your own inner experience, not everyone else's experience.

12 hours for release date guys. Leo 2.0 early access coming out. -
Again to CLARIFY im not saying you shouldn't help people. What i am saying is YOU BETTER ENJOY THE PROCESS of helping people, without the reward. Would you still like helping people and enjoy even through you gained nothing from it? and you didn't change the world one bit? I mean everyone is already indirectly changing the world just by existing. I can tell you right now you won't like the world if everyone gave up their jobs and started doing charity work, goodluck buying any consumers products, good luck doing your shopping in the grocery store, good luck ever watching a new movie again or a reading a good book. Everyone is going to be out there building houses for the poor and making food supplies, and guess what happens when you get poor people comfortable? That's right they breed and make more people which means more houses and more food to be produced, this is already happening thats why we're at 8 billion people worldwide and we're consuming and ruining the world. So much ****ing good you guys are doing by destroying the whole animal kingdom and planet... see by trying to do good you do bad. Millions of animals are brought into consciousness only to die, so we can feed our selves. BALANCE is the key. You know what else likes to refuse to die and spread as rapidly as possible? Cancerous cells, humans as a whole are like cancer right now. The more good you're trying to pour in, the more reality will offset it with bad, you can't have good without bad, you can't have lightness without darkness. You will never ever create a heaven of all goodness that defies reality and god's will in of itself. If you think about it, the most peaceful world would be a world without humans, so shall we get rid of mankind my friends?

pure arrogance. utter waste of typing energy. Might as well squeeze rock for water. What are you basing your useless dumb assumptions on ? What's next you going to go tell sadhguru he needs to meditate more or you going to suck up to him because of his reputation. This entire time you been basically down playing others and up playing your own stuff. Just consciousness wearing another clueless mask that acts like its knows it all.

Nothingness is real, it is the only constant in my being I'm sorry you haven't seen it, "Where is that moon that never rises or sets, where is that soul that is neither with nor without us, Don't say it is here or there, all creation is "that" but for the eyes that can see." "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I'll meet you there." Rumi “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language, even the phrase “each other” doesn’t make any sense. The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want. Don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don’t go back to sleep.”

@Robert Your entire tone is arrogance and trolling, could you stop calling people stupid every 2 few sentences we get your weak mind wants to force your opinion on others. You just admitted that existence and non-existence is pretty much the same and no one has an answer to what real is. Enough said stop playing this shitty "i know it all, look at me, bow before me" malarkey. So defensive, your own ego is more of an issue than what Nahm is saying.

If you know the biological body will die and you understand that you won't be alive forever then that means you understand the future implies that you won't exist forever, let's say I took a gun and shoot you right in the head now and you die, now you don't exist anymore, no more logical thinking no more memories, if you can't self reflect then how could you possibly know that you existed, that any of this was real? You see what you call real is only real as long as your alive if you contemplate death, nothing is real, everything is temporary. I don't even know what real is anymore because sometimes non existence feels the same as existence. That pain of a lion eating you is temporary once you pass out you won't feel it, also some people are born with a pain disorder so they can literally watch a lion eat them with no pain, these people usually die early in their lives because they unable to judge pain or danger. Pain is just a survival tool, it wasn't design to torture you it was designed to help you stay alive. Honestly I don't think you've done any work in this field of self investigation. Did you know even people's memories change over time, and they confuse real with their own made up stories, apparently they took th survivors of 9/11 and wrote accounts on what happen, gradually over time their memories and stories changed dramatically, people like to idealize their stories and make them better. So even your own memories are questionable, so again, what is real? Anyone claiming to know what real is the biggest bullshitter I know, and everyone in society thinks they know what real is, most people are arrogant, that's why you see people fighting and punching each other on the streets, because they both adamant that they are right.

Imagine if someone saved hitler's life when he was child? He would have been well proud of his deed. No matter how good your intentions are things can backfire big time. Albert Einstein wasn't too happy about Japan being Nuked twice, with hundreds dying, maybe the world might have been a better place if Albert Einstein didn't exist at all. Who knows, humans are so short sighted, easily ruled by their false conclusions. Spirituality has taught me actually nothing can be known for certain. Not to discourage anyone from doing their passion, if your passion is noble that's great, just don't act like its more of a valid or real path to others, because its not, that's just more ego. As Alan watts said about the spiritual game "my game is better than your game".

Going to burst some bubbles here. This whole I need to help others and society is a mind created concept, the only reason you find it important is because you and your beliefs have given it importance. Also there is a lot of brain washing in society and spirituality how "we should help others". It is futile, its like saying I want to stop animal slaughter, or I want to protect the ants, or the plants or the rocks from harm. Every path is a valid path, if it exists it's reality, it's creations/God's will. Just worry about living your life the way you want, expressing your genuine self. Just imagine your future and where you're going to be in your death bed, now what will make you the most happy about your life what would have been a fullfilling life FOR YOU? For example if you said: Travelling the world and seeing all corners and experiencing all culture and seeing as much as possible before you die. Then you have no business helping others really. The reason why people like helping others is for selfish reasons, they feel better, more alive, more useful if you want that that then do that but not everyone is going to feel great about helping others, some people will outright hate helping others and can't stand it, that's fine too, no need to be miserable because of "shoulds" not every mind is built to enjoy the same things. Life is what you make of it, what you design out of it, what you value and what you put importance to. Nothing has inherited importance, you're born out of nothingness, everyone one you help on this planet, isn't going to exist in your consciousness once you drop the illusion of "this current body". In a way all your doing is helping people in your dream, better to focus on enjoying your dream to the maximum. And remember CONSQEUNCES! Don't do negative stuff if you dont accept or want the consquences.

Yes knowing the problem and being aware of it helps, just dont get too stressed about it. Next time you have an urge to watch porn try to sit with that feeling and see how long you can hold it before reacting, see if you can hold it long enough that the urge passes away. If you fail, admit it wasn't your best but forgive yourself, just believe that each time you practice not reacting to it, it will get better. Build that discipline or mental willpower muscle.

Chop penis and testicles off, problem solved (joke obviously) Porn is not the root problem, however porn is easy to access when the lust comes. There is a beast in you that is programmed to desire sex in your biological body, remember your first time you watched porn? you couldn't be addicted to it right off the bat but it was still very luring. The addiction is hard wired into your biological makeup, I guess if you really want to be OK with not watching porn you need to become OK with the lust and urges that arise all the time and then not react. You can't get rid of the urges or impulses, the key is whether you react to it, and whether you can keep saying no to porn every time you feel the urge to bust a nut.
