  1. @Ray When we play video games, or reading a book, watching tv or even driving we can go into something called a heightened state of awareness (aka self hypnosis or guided visualization). We can become hyper-focused on something and tune everything else out. That's why when you are playing WOW or Star Craft, etc, and someone walks in the room and asks you what you want for dinner, and you don't hear them, that is a form of hypnosis/guided visualization/heightened state of awareness. Hypnosis/Guided Visualization is a natural state of mind that we go into by ourselves every day. Guided visualization works with our subconscious mind which is 90% of our brain that primarily focuses on our habits, behaviors and beliefs. With guided visualization it is not mind control. If you won't do something out of guided visualization you won't do it in guided visualization either. That's why when we play video games we don't become violent, unless it is something we have the intention to do before we played them. You can't be forced to do something.....you have will power.
  2. @quantum I wanted to add to what I know about Reiki. Like I mentioned above in a previous comment, with Reiki most people are attuned to the energy although there are people that are born with the ability to do so. I was traveling out of town last week to southern California to meet some old childhood friends, whom are a married older couple that both were born with the ability to use Reiki. One of them just holds my hand and does nothing else and the energy goes to where it is needed.... while I actually feel the aura and can tell which chakras need re-balancing. The energy is spiritually guided so technically even if I was working on the wrong chakras it would go to where it is needed most. This specific person can also close her eyes and see auras, as well as she is a very sensitive empath. She can feel other people's pain and avoids hospitals at all costs. I don't see auras, nor am I empathic but I have something called claircognizance. When I see a client for a hypnosis and reiki session they often need advice or direction. I have very limited knowledge on everything that I do know about this field....it is so weird how I just know information. The clients I usually see are often floored by the information that comes pouring out of my mouth during my sessions. lol I have this Lapis Lazuli necklace that I wear and I know it sounds strange....lol.... but it helps me attune to messages that I'm receiving. A year before that I was wearing a sodalite necklace to help balance my throat chakra since I am so shy and withdrawn from other people. I can not tell you how weird this sounds, but I literally could not take this necklace off my body without noticing a sudden personality change! lol Eventually I wore it long enough to absorb it's properties and was advised from another healer to wear the lapis lazuli instead. Claircognizance is one of the primary intuitive modalities people use to get knowledge and information psychically. Claircognizance, or clear-knowing, refers to the ability to simply know something to be true even without supporting knowledge or logic or reason. You “just know.” There is also clairvoyance (to see), Clairaudience (to hear) which is very different from "hearing voices" because you are receiving divine guidance, and clairsentience (to feel). We all have different gifts and abilities. With Reiki you also specialize working with crystals. They even have an attunement class for this. After my 2nd reiki class I became extremely sensitive to stones and crystals. I could literally feel the energy, and considering I work at a holistic healing center where people sell tons of healing jewelry it was almost over bearing! The energy felt the same as me giving reiki energy to another person (the weird prickly feeling that I mentioned earlier in this topic, that kinda feels like my hand falling asleep but is on the outside of my hands) but magnified times 10 and all over my body! I haven't studied crystals yet but this is what I do know. I'm quoting my friend that is a crystal reiki practitioner and what it says on her brochure. All crystals retain an electromagnetic field (EMF) when removed from the Earth. This energy field never leaves the crystal, allowing it's vibration to resonate with other energy fields and harmonize them. The human body contains countless EMF's, each one is unique in vibration and directly connected to thoughts, emotions and physical biology. It makes sense because when we feel good about ourselves and are happy we have a ton of energy, and when we are sad and depressed we don't have much energy at all and will just sit around and mope all day. There is a few books I know of that talk about different types of emotional energy and one is "You can heal your life" by Louise Hay. The Chinese place great importance on life energy, chi. They have studied it for thousands of years and have discovered there are many different kinds of Chi. "The Yellow Emperor's classic of Internal Medicine," Which is over 4,000 years old lists thirty-two different types of Chi or Ki. The Japanese also think of Ki as having may ways it can express. Genki is original for healthy Ki, byoki is unhealthy ki, ki ga shimazu is disappointment, ki no hayai is excitement, ki ga omoi is depression, ki no okii is generosity and so on.
  3. "In the Infinity of life where I am, All is perfect, whole, and complete. I believe in a power far greater than I am that flows through me every moment of every day. I open myself to the wisdom within, knowing that there is only One Intelligence in this Universe. Out of this One Intelligence comes all the answers, all the solutions, all the healings, all the new creations. I trust this Power and Intelligence, knowing that whatever I need to know is revealed to me, and that whatever I need comes to me in the right time, space, and sequence All is well in my world." Louise L. Hay
  4. "I see the world through eyes of love. I see love in every flower, in the sun and the moon, and in every person I meet." "My body mirrors my state of mind. I am healthy, whole and complete." "Every moment presents a wonderful new opportunity to become more of who I am." Louise L. Hay
  5. Hi guys, I was just curious.... is it really TRUE that if you see a really HOT chick that you may be so intimidated that you won't talk to her? I guess that's what PUA is for right??? And how can a girl who may be extremely attractive (to the opposite sex) appear less INTIMIDATING?!? lol How can we be more approachable? Thanks!
  6. @Babybat I'm calling them today and canceling my subscription right now!! lol Downloading.......Self Love Software........reprogramming the subconscious mind.......now at 10%......... Self Love Software provided by Leo's SelfLove-alized.org. (For some reason I'm imagining Leo wearing a "hippy outfit", smoking some 5-Meo while meditating and saying "Spread the Self LOOOOOOVE baby!" lol)
  7. @AlwaysBeNice Oh my goodness! That's what I was feeling and realized when I meditating a few days ago!!! I was created with love, so I already love myself. I am LOVE! I also came up with this affirmation while meditating....."I am good enough, I love all stages of my life, no matter where I am at."
  8. @Bebop Indeed your subconscious is correct.....we are perfect.....you are what you believe yourself to be. We already are perfect, we already are good enough just as we are right now. I was meditating the other day too on self love and I got a similar answer saying that I wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Love, so I already do love myself, I just want to make it stronger and a dominant feeling in my life. I also wrote down this affirmation that came to mind while meditating " I am good enough. I love all stages of my life, no matter where I am at."
  9. @Danielle I think I need to make a to do list and do more of this stuff you are listing here. I think I'm making this way more complicated than it is right now. Thanks for the suggestions. I need to be more aware and focused in the present moment.
  10. @Martin123 You have no idea how much I want to cry!!!! I think a lot of this is more compounded and complicated because i'm dealing with my dad's loss. It's just feels physically hard to deal with. I know it's simple but maybe I'm making more out than what it really is. I want to cry but I physically cant. And when I do cry it's usually if I'm at work and I'm really really stressed, or in my counselor's office. If you believe in energy, it is considered a blockage in the solar plexus, where we carry the bulk of our emotions. I have literally not cried for over a month now. It's really hard because I perceive emotions as a sign of weakness and loss of control rather than a release.
  11. @ajasatya Yeah I definitely need to make that a priority this year. I have a tendency to focus on helping other people, than I forget to work on myself. It is a mental addiction that I need to break and figure out. I figured it out it was a huge problem when I did Leo's childhood vow video and exercises. It will be hard shifting my focus, but I know I can do this. i just need to draw out some kind of action plan so I can get this done.
  12. @Shin I could not agree more with what you are saying. I know I desire a relationship for the wrong reasons right now and that's why I've stepped out of the playing field completely. Usually people get into relationships out of need...not by a desire to be with them. I know I'm insecure without a doubt in my mind. And I know I have to work on SELF LOVE too. But I was just generally curious about what people on this forum thought about this issue.
  13. @Arman I actually brought this topic up for multiple reasons. I know PUA is a huge topic in this forum. I'm want to understand the male perspective so I can improve on relationships and I'm sure other women would appreciate this information. Men and women have a tendency to see the world in very different ways. The things that we need in a relationship are very different too. I know men need Trust, acceptance, appreciation, admiration, approval and encouragement. Women need to feel cared for, understood, respected, devoted, validated, and reassured. (This is coming from the book :Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus", Chapter 8 pg 132. And in another topic on this forum I saw someone post PUA information about men can get intimidated by attractive women. The article he provided stated that most of the time men settle for less than what they want, because they feel that they have reached that age that they should get married, and then they regret the relationship and are unhappy. They think it's a huge reason why there is such a high divorce rate. This fear is preventing men from being happy! And women too! And that's really sad! I'm not going to sit here and beat around the bush. I'm insecure about my looks and I'm very aware of it and it is an area I have to work on in personal development. And I know a lot of it has to do with my dad passing away, because when someone dies you're emotions go haywire and you bounce all over the place. You can reach out for love in the wrong places. A few of you know on this forum that I'm also an ex adult entertainer. It was my job to look attractive and get men's attention to arouse them. When men and women look at adult entertainment...it's for one thing....to get their cookies off! But it's very different in the dating field. People are looking for long term..... it's not just about the sex. Although attractiveness is key to a relationship for men and women. From what I know and have studied it's more physical for men because of the way they are wired to look for a healthy female to reproduce off spring on a subconscious level (even if they don't want kids lol). I've literally have not been in a serious long term relationship for about 9 years now. I'm curious to know how much the dating field has changed, and what new knowledge is out there. I'm also curious to learn more about PUA because I had a very negative view of it for a long time. I thought it was just some creepy and manipulative way to pick up and prey on women and get laid! I'm sure there are a few men that have used it for that reason but the real core of it's use is to help build confidence and better relationships.
  14. @Babybat I totally agree. A lot of the times I meet them on skype before hand and I talk with them back and forth for some time to make sure there is some chemistry there to begin with. I usually meet them in a big public place with lots of people, and it usually involves like a coffee shop or a restaurant. I completely steer clear of movie theaters or being any place where we can be one on one. I might be a little more brave and daring than most people because I can pick up on red flags really easily. I actually had one guy at the end of my 7 day subscription with match.com that got really weird and refused to go skype with me and wouldn't send me any clear pictures of himself. Most of them were blurry. He kept insisting that I come over to his house and play video games....lol....I don't think so! It was totally obvious he was looking for a piece of ass. If you skype with the guy you will know if he's lying about his photos and know what he looks like. You can talk to him safely without being physically present. If he won't skype with you, you know right away there is something wrong. Any guy that is caring and understanding will pick up on this and will be fine. The guy that I met on facebook, (I mentioned in the comments above) he was a friend of someone that I went to college with. And I talked with him back and forth for over a month before I even made a decision to see him.
  15. @quantum When I'm doing just the Reiki I send out an intention, or just think of the word Reiki and I can feel the physical energy working. But in this exercise this isn't necessary. I used this exercise before I was attuned and I just sat there and relaxed, put on some nice music and lit a candle. I like what @ajasatya is saying above about focusing on your breath and appreciating your body. Think of it along the lines of a way to relax, and become more aware of your body. Treat it like you would with meditation, setting this time aside for you. If you really wanted to, you can meditate while doing this. When I meditate I do reiki at the same time. I'll focus on a word like self love and just sit there and empty my mind. It feels great! A lot of people in the holistic field recommend that when you do energy work you should take a sea salt or epsom salt bath afterwards for 15 minutes to clear the energy that comes from you chakras. Even when I do Kundalini Yoga I make sure I take one afterwards. I physically feel a toxic effect if I don't.
  16. @aurum Thanks for the advice that does help! But if they're gamer guys....lol...does it increase your odds of attracting them if you're wearing gamer attire? ditch the high heels and short skirt for a mario brothers t-shirt and yoga pants? Or is still just as intimidating? I think the attitude and the body language plays a big part of it for sure. Smiling definitely is inviting and more approachable. I definitely get the groups of guys thing...I would be scared too! lol. But I never thought if you were dancing they would be interrupting, but all the times that's I've been to the clubs in my early 20's they usually tried to squeeze in there and started dancing with me too...maybe times have changed.
  17. @Babybat The best book I've read that explains male and female behavior is "Men are From Mars, and Women are from Venus". I will say in general when I'm shy ....even women will assume I'm a snob. It kinda sucks! lol. So I totally get it. After reading, researching, and watching a lot of videos on what men are attracted to, I can't help but feel insecure about how my body looks, since I know men pretty much base their attraction off of how you look. It makes men appear so shallow, when I know in reality they really aren't. I'm definitely not over weight or anything, and I'm considered in good health. I'll sit there and overly criticize myself. Over the summer I was so insecure about my body that I wouldn't even put a swim suit on and go out anywhere. And the one time that I did, I completely covered up! lol I was wearing a bikini but I made sure that I had a long shirt on to cover my entire body. I made sure I didn't interact with anyone, because of how shy and insecure I was. In that situation I know I was giving off negative signals. I wonder if guys go though the body image issue as much as women do? I wonder if they get just as intimidated...... @Phocus Damn...this is not good...lol.....assumption is the mother of all evil. It definitely fits into the stereotype that after you're 20's you're most likely married or in a committed relationship.
  18. @STC @Shin It's ok no worries. The advice is for me. And I know my ego is definitely in play right now. It is something I have to deal with at the moment. I'm not feeling as good about myself as I usually do and part of it is because my dad recently passed away. I've discovered that all kinds of things come up when someone close to you dies. You start feeling insecure about yourself and your self worth, and you want to seek validation in different ways, including relationships. I recognize that I'm reaching out at this time, when it's probably not a good idea, but I also know that this advice will help me with my personal growth later on, when I am ready for a relationship. I'm sure other people on this forum could benefit from the advice here offered as well.
  19. @Phocus I figured this was the case because if I see a guy that's really attractive I want to run away. lol. I think I'm too shy and intimidated as well. Like the person is way out of my league. I know men and women perceive and see things very differently, I was wondering if this was the case. I'm not a guy so I wouldn't know. lol. Like I was saying in another comment. I think I try too hard. I think if I'm not thinking about dating or meeting someone it would just come to me alot easier. Like putting no expectations. When it happens it happens. Part of the problem is I stay home and do so much personal development work that I don't really go out at all anymore. I need to make it a point to go out on the weekends, so I can get more interactions with people. The more you interact with the people in different locations at different times, the more likely you will meet someone. the law of state transference....that makes perfect sense. People do read your emotions. Sometimes I do feel awkward going out in public. I've come a long way with my social anxiety but I'm sure I could improve in that area. It's interesting you called it that, because I've heard it called the Law of Attraction.
  20. @AxelK Yes I completely agree. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. No two people are attracted to the same thing. It sucks when people already assume that I'm in a relationship. People are usually surprised that I'm not already married with kids. I think I try too hard. They say when you just give up and stop trying it just happens.
  21. I've found my life purpose- which involves working with people using hypnosis and reiki to help them along on their own life journey. And that can involve weight loss, quit smoking, dealing with anxiety etc. I feel compassion for people and I love seeing their transformations. It just makes me feel so good. And I love hypnosis because every time I hypnotize someone or use reiki I receive the same benefits as my clients! lol But I'm noticing a huge EGO issue now that I've found my life purpose. I base my personal self worth on how many clients I see, how much money I make, and how well my clients are progressing. Since I'm just starting my business, I've had some dry spells, where I would have times where I wouldn't see many clients at all. It really messed with my self confidence and self esteem. And I felt like I wasn't good enough because I wasn't making enough money to support myself, and had to get a side job for additional income. I would base my self worth off my clients thanking me and telling me how great I am. And I know that's not a good thing! How do I fix this?? Is it normal for people to get their ego mixed up with their life purpose?
  22. Share your story, how you discovered personal dev, and what struggles you've overcome. Name: Carrie Age: 33 Gender: Female Location: Virginia, USA Occupation: Hypnotherapist, Reiki Practitioner, Life Coach Marital Status: Single, taking a break from the dating scene to focus on self love Kids: No Hobbies: hypnosis, reiki, meditation, angel meditations, reading, arts and crafts, healing jewelry/stones, Kundalini yoga, walking, nature, personal development, enlightenment, aromatherapy, being child like, living in the present moment, spirituality, becoming a sage, My life Purpose- helping other people along their life journey, being compassionate, video games (in very limited quantities to promote relaxation), Seeking the Truth, Learning I've dabbled on and off with personal development the last several years but I started to make it a commitment to myself two years ago after finding Leo's actualized.org website. I had suffered a mental break down under the hands of abusive room mates and over working myself in the adult entertainment industry. I decided to come home to live with my parents because my dad had stage 4 cancer. We didn't know how long he was going to live, and I wanted to support my mother. I also knew it was time for a career change and to do a complete over haul of my life. I needed new values, new meaning and new focus. I went back to school to find myself and understand my emotions so I studied hypnosis. Later on I discovered Reiki by accident through a student who was also studying hypnosis. Through Leo's life purpose course I realized that I had made the right career choice, and the combination of hypnosis and reiki together was apart of my life purpose of helping other people along in their life journey. Personal challenges I've overcome: Depression, and excessive negative thinking Severe food allergies that were causing me depression Changing my diet to reverse my ovarian cysts, hormonal imbalances, and thyroid problems Eliminated all prescription medications Overcame my addictions to food and alcohol for comfort and as a coping mechanism for stress Learned how to be and feel attractive, how to take care of my body Started my own business Learning compassion for other people Understanding Spirituality and where religion plays a role in my life Building a connection/relationship with GOD/ Absolute Infinity I found my life purpose Seeking the TRUTH I learned how to understand other people and feel compassion. I learned to let go of my negative abusive past. I've learned to forgive other people. Overcame my phobia of dogs I've learned to spot red flags and abusive relationships before they enter my life. What I'm working on now: Self Love - realizing that romantic relationships can not be functional unless you have self love, and that I don't need anyone to be happy except myself and God (absolute Infinity). Realizing that God is my soul mate., realizing that looking within is the answer to all happiness Working on myself, and not to overly focused on other people Working on Self Love so I can have a long term relationship Making my business full time and self sustainable Healing from my dad's passing Over coming my phobia of being in front of a video camera Becoming more focused with my goals and due-diligence Becoming more motivated and passionate, having more gumption Enlightenment, Personal development, Spiritual healing Continued Dietary Changes to promote health Continued Learning in my field- Reiki Master Certification, hypnosis, life coaching, etc. Learning to Balance my life- that we all need fun and play, as well as work and a life purpose. Learning to be more comfortable with my Life purpose- a lot of people don't understand what I do with Reiki and they think it's odd, fake, or voo doo. Becoming a SAGE Seeking the TRUTH
  23. @quantum I found something that I think you will like. My hypnosis and reiki teacher gave this to me last year. She also does healing touch, which is an energy healing technique used by medical professionals. This is a personal exercise that was given to me and the other students in my class to do for fun which involved doing personal energy healing on yourself. It's straight from her healing touch handbook, and I was doing this before I was reiki attuned. I felt really good doing this. I don't know how well the pictures will show up on this forum but it's basically hand positions you hold over certain parts of your body. And you can start at the bottom of your feet and you work up to the top of your head. These hand positions send energy to certain parts of your body. You hold the hand positions for as long as you like. This is like an exercise you would do over a span of like 15-30 minutes even more if you desire The pictures are in order by number so you just go step by step. Enjoy! I hope that helps! Chakra Connection Self Technique
  24. To be honest with you guys, I felt very intuitively guided to create this post. Something told me that it just felt right to do this. After I created this post, I started to doubt myself and I was absolutely mortified to check to see if anyone responded. lol I figured it was going to lead to some type of crazy skeptical abusive responses. I don't usually tell anyone about this stuff. So I appreciate the support. I figured I was going to have to delete my account!
  25. @ajasatya http://www.reiki.org/GlobalHealing/Northandsouthpolehomepage.html Check this out....You're gonna love this. The World Peace Crystal Grid program is a way for Reiki practitioners to promote peace on earth. Peace grids have been placed at the North and South Poles of the earth as well as in old Jerusalem. Their design allow Reiki to be sent to them and stored like a battery which is then made available to promote peace on earth. Their placement at the magnetic poles of the earth takes advantage of this tremendous energy source that also functions like the crown and root chakras of the planet. The Reiki energy emanating from the Peace grids is carried by the magnetic field around the planet to heal and balance the earth’s aura. The reservoir of healing energy it holds is available to empower all those working toward world healing and peace. The World Peace Crystal Grids were placed at North Pole on May 3, 1997 at the South Pole on December 17, 1999, and in Jerusalem in October, 2004. This was a dream come true and each was an exciting adventure. To read about them, click on the links below.
