God is dead, therefore man is free. Everybody is doing whatever he likes, either God is dead or he has lost control over us. -

Dream is as real as any other reality. Dream is part of reality. Someone can dream about christian heaven, other can dream about Muslim heaven. When you are in a dream, the dream becomes a reality. -

In India the idea was that history consists of mundane, ordinary, day to day things, which go on being repeated. A king is born, a king dies; another king will be there, he will die. Empires are built and disappear. The Indian word for history is very significant. It is itihas. The word means "that which comes and disappears like a soap bubble" the end is not very far from the beginning. So instead they used to write puranas, mythology. Now, the word puranas means something not concerned with individuals but with essentials. We have not written histories about Buddha, Mahavira or Krishna, no. That would have been dragging something immensely beautiful into the muddy unconsciousness of humanity. We have not written histories about these people, we have written myths. What is a myth? A myth is a parable, a parable that only points to the moon but says nothing about it—a finger pointing to the moon. -

Many reached the highest forms of realization , but some of them are good teachers, some of them were not teachers. Teaching is an art. Enlightenment will not make you a good teacher You can't know it by thinking and logic. I can criticize Buddha too. -

Jesus says to God, “Have you forsaken me?” There were a few expectations that at the last moment some miracle would happen. Till this moment he and his father were not one, they were separate ; till this moment he was not ascended into oneness and wholeness. -

The rabbis and the high priest of the temple of Jerusalem were trying to prove that Jesus was a fake. And he was trying to prove that "No, I am the true messiah--and at the last moment you will see, when God himself descends to save his only begotten son." And time started passing: he is nailed, he is crucified, he is waiting for the miracle. Nothing is happening, all expectations are turning sour. In that moment of agony he screams, "Why have you forsaken me?" But there is nobody to whom he is calling. There is nobody who has forsaken him. It is his own idea, it is his own projection, it is his own hallucination. This state is hysterical! But he is waiting up to the last moment. And when he says, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will," that is surrender; but not true, with reluctance, just a face-saving device. This is not the way of a surrendered man ! The Jesus is not like Buddha or Lao Tzu. You cannot conceive of Buddha's going into a temple and beating moneylenders. But Jesus did it. The temple was becoming richer and richer: it was religious imperialism. The whole country was poor and suffering, but so much money would be automatically coming into the temple. Then Jesus entered one day with a whip in his hand. He overturned the moneylenders' boards and began to beat the moneylenders. He created chaos in the temple. You cannot conceive of Buddha doing this. Impossible! He got so angry at some things that we cannot even believe it. He cursed a fig tree which was not yielding any fruit because he and his disciples were hungry. He destroyed it! He threatened in a type of language that Buddha could not even utter. For example, he said that those who would not believe in him and the kingdom of God would be thrown into the fires of hell, the eternal fires of hell, and they would not be able to come back. Only the Christian hell is eternal. -
Emperor Aśoka, who converted to Buddhism after the Battle of Kaliṅga, was responsible for spread of Buddhism in India. Buddhism gained so much influence because his disciples spread his teaching beyond the boundaries of India. Otherwise there were many contemporaries who were great enlightened teachers like Mahavir, Makhali Ghosal, Ajit Kesakambal, Sanjaya Belaputta, Nigantha Nathaputta. Buddhism was not a completely new phenomenon in the religious history of India.

I think this research shows that 27% Americans assume that they are "spiritual but not religious", and 48% Americans assume that they are "spiritual and religious" this doesn't mean that they are doing something for spiritual transformation and 'they are on the path'. -

You are enough of a proof that existence is intelligent. From where have you got your intelligence, if there was no intelligence before life began? -

Bhakti, Kirtan, chanting Mantra can play a great role in spiritual growth. I don't think this is path of meditation, but it is popular spiritual practice in India. They are giving you a free meal too. So, enjoy it ! -

There are thousands of monks, spiritual seekers in east they become idiots instead of becoming enlightened. So sometimes an idiot can also appear to be saint-like. They are not cunning; to be cunning, intelligence is needed. Idiots are simple, innocent, non-cunning, non-calculating. You can fall down below the mind: then too a no-mind happens, but it is not meditation, if you are not blissful. -

You are no longer dominated by the past; the past no longer has power over you. Each moment is free from the past moment. When a man is aware he lives in the moment, not out of the past. This is the difference: if you live out of the past then the future is created, the wheel of karma moves; if you live out of the present then there is no wheel of karma. You are out of it, you have dropped out of it. If you carry the seeds of karma, those seeds will be fulfilled again and again, you will be born again. -

We all have potential but if a tree produces thousands of seeds , only few seeds become a fully fledged tree. Krishna in Geeta has said, "Among thousands of people, perhaps one strives for success. Among those successful strivers, perhaps only one knows me in essence." -

He was really intelligent. A man who had nothing in the world, made emperors jealous. He found the real treasure. -

There are millions people who are suffering deeply and they know story of Buddha, but they don't become spiritual. There are many who try to become spiritual but they fail to grow into a meditator. Buddha was tremendously intelligent. -

Flying Spaghetti Monster The gospel of the flying spaghetti monster Five Thousand Years Ago: The Beginning THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER created the universe and a bunch of planets, including Earth. No one except Himself was around to see it, but we suspect it was rather dull. The initial creation, obviously, must have been spectacular, but He then spent the next ten to one hundred years painstakingly preparing the universe to appear older than it actually is. Our Noodly Creator then placed fossils, hidden under the earth's surface, knowing that they would later be found—thus, seemingly proving that these creatures existed some time ago. Dinosaur bones, for example, were placed so well and in such numbers that it's widely believed dinosaurs roamed the earth millions of years ago. -

Lot of people know Osho because he was notorious, controversial. You can either love him or hate him, but he is not ignored, even after his death. Today you may be loving a person, in future you can hate him. Similarly hate can also transform into love. He said in an interview, I am not a politician. That is the ugliest thing that can happen to a man. I am not diplomatic. I do not want people to be manipulated politely. I am not a hypocrite, I simply say the truth as it is. If it hurts, it is your problem. If it creates enemies I am not worried, because the enemies are the first step to becoming my friends. They have already recognized me in their hate. They have already recognized their defeat and death. Now nobody can save them. They cannot ignore me. If they can ignore me, then there is no threat for them. That's why I have to be intense, fiery, and I have to hammer hard on each traditional value, because the only thing that I would not like is to be ignored. -

The five wise men who were at Prince Siddhartha's naming ceremony not only predicted the great future of the new prince, but had given the king a warning. "When your son sees a sick man, an old man, a dead body and a monk, he will want to leave the palace and become a monk himself," He was 29 when he first encountered suffering. After few days he left the palace. -

It is very important for a meditator to see to it that he sleeps properly and enough. First take care of your sleep. -

Buddha's father made all arrangements so that he can't encounter any suffering of life. Till he was twenty- nine, any old , sick, dead person was not seen by Buddha. The king did everything he could think of to ensure his son Prince Siddhartha would grow up prepared for a life following in his own footsteps and become a king. He ordered a high wall to be built around the palace, including its parks and gardens, but the prince was not happy living like a prisoner. One day he told his father, "I must go out of the palace gate and see how other people live." "Very well, my son," said the king, "you shall go outside the palace wall to see how people live in my city. But first I must prepare things, so that all would be good and proper for my noble son's visit." The king ordered the people of the city to prepare for his son's visit by making the streets and homes beautiful and welcoming him as he passed them by. When the people had decorated the city the king said, "Now you can go, my dear son, and see the city as you please." As the young prince was going through the streets all of a sudden, from a small old hut beside the road, out came an old man with long silver-grey hair, wearing very old, torn and dirty rags. The skin of his face was dried and wrinkled. His sunken eyes were dim and he was almost blind. There were no teeth in his mouth. He stood up, trembling all over, almost bent over double and clutching at a shaking stick with two bent and skinny hands to save himself from falling. The old beggar dragged himself along the street, paying no attention to all the happy people around him. He was speaking very feebly, begging people around him to give him food, as he would die that very day if he could find nothing to eat. When the prince saw the old man, he didn't know what he was looking at. It was the first time in his life that he had seen an old man of this type. "What is that, Channa?" he asked his driver. "That really cannot be a man! Why is he all bent? What is he trembling for? Why is his hair silver-grey, not black like mine? What is wrong with his eyes? Where are his teeth? Is this how some people are born? Tell me, oh good Channa, what does this mean?" Channa told the prince that it was an old man and he was not born like that. "When young he was like us and now, due to his old age he has become this way." Channa told the prince to forget this man. But the prince was not satisfied. "Everyone in the world, if he lives long enough, becomes like this man. It cannot be stopped," said Channa. The prince ordered Channa to drive back home at once, as he was very sad and wanted to think carefully about that terrible thing called old age. That night there was a grand royal feast for the prince, but he was not interested or happy at all during the dinner and dance. He was thinking all the time, "Some day you will all grow old and frail and bent — every one of you, even the prettiest." He could not sleep when night came. He was in bed thinking that one day, everyone would grow old, grey, wrinkled, toothless and ugly like the old beggar. He wanted to know if anyone had found a way to stop this horrible thing — old age. The king, when he heard this story, was very sad and worried that his son would leave the palace. He told his attendants to put on more dances and dinners. -

@phoenix666 Sex is not the function of the head, but when sex enters in through the head it becomes sexuality. Then you think about sex, then you fantasize about sex. And the more you think, the more you fantasize about it, the more you will get into trouble because then nothing real will ever satisfy you because there is no limitation on fantasy, and reality is limited. When you are hungry you eat food, it is natural ,but you don't fantasize about food unless you are forced to fast, this is unnatural state.
