In solitude there is nobody to fight with your ego; there is nobody to humiliate you; there is nobody with whom you can compare yourself. You become supreme in your own eyes. You can believe in your ego absolutely; there will be no distraction. When you are alone, a false type of “spirituality” arises. Whenever you are alone there is nobody to provoke your anger, nobody to create an opportunity where you can become sad; nobody to bring your own false faces before you. You are alone: anger does not arise. Not that anger has disappeared , simply the situation for anger is not there. You are full of anger, but nobody is there to insult you, to hurt you. Only the opportunity is missing. The test has to be there whether you are succeeding in your meditation or not.

Besides Nisargadatta Maharaj there are other enlightened masters like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa who were smokers , it is great hope for people who find difficulty in breaking habit of smoking.

Maharaj was a chain smoker of beedis (leaf rolled cigarettes), apart from being a merchant of them. He was also known as 'Beedi Baba'.

World is very cruel. Can you survive without doing any job and without following rules of the society ? These are monastic techniques intended for people who are totally involved in them for twenty-four hours a day, not doing anything else.

Western psychology says mind can become ill, and can be healthy. But for the east, mind as such is the disease, it cannot be healthy. Prayer and meditation both can give you mental peace. If you can pray, prayer itself is enough, more than enough. If you can't pray, then understand what meditation is.

You gain energy in by following a inner discipline, which you were able to follow because you were young, healthy and circumstances were favorable. Circumstances can become unfavorable if you are on a wrong path. You can become older and unhealthy. You can lose your freedom to live life according to your choice.

If you use psychic powers , you will lose them sooner or later. You can lose your energy in thousand and one ways. Even if you don't do anything, just by thinking too much you can lose your energy.

If a person don't enjoy his loneliness, he is not enlightened.

Even if you succeed , which is a distant possibility, you will become corrupted. In India they are many great spiritual persons, who become corrupted, many of them are in Jail now.

@lmfao You may not be ready to be aware of all the insanity that is inside you, you must be allowed to get to know certain things gradually. Instead of forced sitting, begin with something active, like walking meditation. Walk slowly in a relaxed way with awareness.

In the language of the intellect, devotion is a dream. In the language of the heart, devotion is true. The meditator is trying to be aware and the bhakta is trying to be totally lost. They are bound to speak diametrically opposite languages. There is no meeting point. Devotion is a happening, you can't choose it. You can love somebody, without any apparent reason.

Monkeys also have their idea, they think man has fallen from the trees, from great heights. Monkeys think that they are more evolved, man can't jump like us! How a modern lizard or any other animal is more evolved than dinosaurs, which ruled the earth?

They can exist but we have no evidence of Extraterrestrial life till now. May be in future we will make them “Allies of Humanity” if they are contacted.
