I agree with @Salvijus "increase your consciousness and your food will change." You can eat yogic/satvic diet in such a way that it becomes a burden. I have seen people in India who take satvic diet in huge quantity that they can't move after meals. There are people who are obsessed with fasting, and there are people who are obsessed with stuffing themselves. One should eat only to the point where body feels perfectly quiet, balanced, tranquil. -

The real thing is to get rid of thoughts, not to read them. One even has to get rid of one's own thoughts; what is the point of reading other people's thoughts? Your own rubbish is so much, what is the point of reading somebody else's rubbish? He is tortured by his rubbish and you are reading his thoughts ! -

George Ivanovich Gurdjieff Gurdjieff was an influential spiritual teacher who taught that most humans live their lives in a state of hypnotic ‘waking sleep’, but that it is possible to transcend to a higher state of consciousness and achieve full human potential. In August 1921 and 1922, Gurdjieff travelled around Western Europe, lecturing and giving demonstrations of his work in various cities, such as Berlin and London. After an unsuccessful attempt to gain British citizenship, Gurdjieff established the Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man south of Paris at the Prieuré des Basses Loges in Fontainebleau-Avon near the famous Château de Fontainebleau. Deconstructing Gurdjieff: Biography of a Spiritual Magician by Tobias Churton https://www.amazon.com/Deconstructing-Gurdjieff-Biography-Spiritual-Magician/dp/1620556383 Book covers the essentials of the life of this fascinating, enigmatic, extraordinarily gifted and difficult spiritual teacher of the last century. Goes into some detail about his teachings (but for that, read Gurdjieff himself or Ouspensky's In Search of the Miraculous), but mainly good about the details of his life. -

Thoughts are clouds in the sky of consciousness. When you are aware of the thought , you move towards state of no-thought. Witnessing of thoughts is a technique to become more more conscious. -

Swami Vivekananda A chief disciple of the 19th-century Indian mystic Ramakrishna. He was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. Vivekananda spent nearly two years lecturing in the eastern and central United States, primarily in Chicago, Detroit, Boston, and New York. He founded the Vedanta Society of New York in 1894. Vivekananda was offered academic positions in two American universities (one the chair in Eastern Philosophyat Harvard University and a similar position at Columbia University); he declined both, since his duties would conflict with his commitment as a monk. Vivekananda attracted followers and admirers in the US and Europe, including Josephine MacLeod, William James, Josiah Royce, Robert G. Ingersoll, Nikola Tesla, Lord Kelvin, Harriet Monroe, Ella Wheeler Wilcox, Sarah Bernhardt, Emma Calvé and Hermann Ludwig Ferdinand von Helmholtz. On 4 July 1902 (the day of his death) Vivekananda awoke early, went to the monastery at Belur Math and meditated for three hours. He taught Shukla-Yajur-Veda, Sanskrit grammar and the philosophy of yoga to pupils, later discussing with colleagues a planned Vedic college in the Ramakrishna Math. At 7:00 p.m. Vivekananda went to his room, asking not to be disturbed; he died at 9:20 p.m. while meditating. Vivekananda fulfilled his prophecy that he would not live forty years. If you don't escape, if you don't resist , if you remain relaxed , just watch without judging , you will be different. Don't assume that it is ego death, ego comes back again and again. -

In old Greece, everybody was not like Socrates , there were people who poisoned him. Hundred of disciples of Pythagoras were killed. Hunger for power of Alexander killed millions. Few people are enlightened everywhere but no country was civilized in true sense in whole human history. -

Swami Rama Tirtha Rama was a brilliant student, especially in mathematics. After completing his degree, he served for a while as Professor of Mathematics in the Forman Christian College. Rama soon resigned his post and left for the forest. A few years later he returned to the plains to preach. The effect of his presence was marvelous. Swami Rama's burning desire to spread the message of Vedanta made him leave the shores of India for Japan. After a successful visit to Tokyo, he departed for the U.S.A. He spent about a year and a half in San Francisco under the hospitality of Dr Albert Hiller. He gained a large following and started many societies, one of them being the Hermetic Brotherhood, dedicated to the study of Vedanta. He went back to the Himalayas and settled at Vasishtha Ashram. He gave up his body in the Ganges on 17 October, 1906, when he was only thirty-three. Jesus has the most psychic powers. He can walk on water, turn water into wine, turn stones into bread, calm a storm, bring dead people back to life, heal sick and people with physical disabilities. And he is coming back again soon to show us many more miracles ! -

I know many mystics who can tell past of anybody (present life). -

I haven't heard about any enlightened person who couldn't remember his past. Many of them tell about their past lives and past lives of others. -

Anybody can claim that he is enlightened. Many people understand whole theory about spirituality, but they have no experience of the real thing. There is no way you can find an authentic master. -

Ramakrishna loved all foods, not just sweets. Perhaps he experienced the divine through his sense of taste. Not strange. As food went past his taste buds and entered his stomach a sense of joy radiated and filled his entire body. Sometimes he would walk out of a gathering of disciples, run to the kitchen, smell or taste what was ready and dart back. His wife, Ma Sarada, at times felt embarrassed wondering what people would think. http://www.bengalcuisine.in/ram-krishna (Dept. of Tourism, West Bengal) -

Master don't tell everything, they can tell lies out of compassion. People are already not interested in enlightenment, and if you tell them that this is going to be the reward , that you become enlightened and your fuse goes off , this may prevent even those few who might try. -

@MECT Can you access this site from China ? @MECT Walk in a relaxed way, eat in a relaxed way, talk in a relaxed way, slow down all your activities. Walking meditation Walk in the morning and evening in a park or place where you feel relaxed. When you are walking, don’t walk at the old pace, with old speed; slow down, so much so that you have to be alert, otherwise you will gather your speed again. Walk in a relaxed way, move as if all eternity is available to you. Open all your senses: listen to the softest sounds like birds singing; smell the fragrance of plants and trees; feel the air, the breeze or the wind on your body and notice the sensations of the feet when hitting the ground, you should be open to everything. Be aware when you lift your foot and when you move it forward, and when you place it down to move along.
