  1. A better question might be, "Who Dies?"
  2. You're inside it and its inside you and you're inside it and its inside you. Get it?
  3. Hey, not to long ago I started practicing self-inquiry. I used the instructions in David Godman's "Be As You Are: The Teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi". And I was wondering if the instructions are correct, as I seem to get lost in thoughts a lot. Is this how it supposed to be? From what I've seen from other sources such as Wikipedia it is described in a different way. Do they mean the same thing? Am I supposed to pay attention to the thought "Who am I?" and after some practice supposed to get some kind of feeling? Replies will be greatly appreciated!
  4. Hey, I saw that a few people here have some experience with self-inquiry. Basically, my questions are: How did you start out doing self-inquiry? What changes have you noticed in your day-to-day life. After how much time did you have a no-self experience? Replies will be greatly appreciated!
  5. @Telepresent Sounds cool, but what do you do when you reach the bedrock?
  6. Start a meditation habit. Edit: Do not develop any craving to have this experience again, it will only slow your growth.
  7. Just do it. (Literally) Your life will be much, much better after you will delete your facebook account. Even better, delete all social media accounts. Trust me, I am talking from experience.
  8. Is there any use for self-inquiry after complete spiritual enlightenment?
  9. Remember, reality doesn't work according to "common-sense".
  10. There's nothing "wrong", watch out for those labels. And no, therapy won't solve all of your problems. Most likely not, if you don't have a meditation habit I definitely recommend starting one. It can greatly reduce your suffering ( & end it ) and raise your concentration, sensory clarity and equanimity levels. ( less emotional problems ) There's no point in trying to escape suffering, you will continue suffering. Stop identifying with the sadness, the only reason you suffer is because you identify with impermanence. Try talking to people you're close to and comfortable talking with about this. Best of luck with your therapy!
  11. @LaucherJunge Watch out for those labels. I never said there's anything "bad" about combining techniques. I don't recommend doing because if you use one technique at a time you can go deeper, faster.
  12. I don't recommend you use more then one technique in one sit.
  13. Who dies, who regrets? You? Who are you? Inquire.

  15. Whenever I meditate for long periods of time I feel intense pain and I am not sure how to deal with it. Any advice? Edit: I meditate in the quarter lotus position, the pain is in the legs.
  16. @John Flores I combined SDS with my meditation.
