@Atticus I think you're thinking that it takes a brain to be aware. It does not. It takes a brain to form thought, memories, emotions, etc., but awareness, is what YOU ARE, not a quality or ability of yourself. It is not a "thing" at all. It's not even nothingness. When you picture nothingness, you probably picture empty space. It's not even close to empty space. It has no qualities at all, other than IT IS. We take awareness for granted, when it is absolutely fundamental for our existence. It actually is existence.. Try to view awareness (being aware) with absolute importance, and deduce what it actually is from there.- 11 replies

@Yang Noctus When you looked at your hand, was it no different than the space around it? -

Nevermind. I found this video. -
What if science is just a practical application of reality? I used think science could explain everything too, then one day it hit me that we are like microscopic ants on a sphere suspended and moving in nothing millions and millions of miles from anything in something so large that we can't begin to comprehend--We have no clue what we are, and the mind and thought will not get us much closer to discovering it. The mind is dumb--Our bodies let it find food and shelter, but it's really not good--nor was designed--for much else ... and I know there's a lot more.

The last two days I've been meditating with my eyes open and focusing on an arbitrary point on the wall. I've noticed that after sitting there for about twenty minutes, my eyes desperately try to look at something else. Tonight, I forced myself to continue looking at the wall and I noticed that everything in my vision began to sway slightly. I also noticed my heartbeat speeding up and a slight sense of fear. Am I on to something? Is this just a physiological reaction to sensory deprivation or something? Any thoughts?...

I really enjoy your self inquiry and enlightenment videos. I have a lot of trouble with simple meditation by focusing on breath, and listening to chants and 432hz stuff. It seems like when I close my eyes, my thoughts amplify. Can you go into more depth on spaciousness? I've found meditation accompanied with visuals helps for me.
