How to be wise

No, I fill the worksheets beforehand. The 30 minutes are just for the inquiry. For me, it’s not hard to fill in the worksheets because you can always find something that you don’t like about your life. If there was nothing that you didn’t like about reality, your life would be perfect and you would be living in heaven. A good way to find a worksheet is to think why your life isn’t heaven. Every reason will be a worksheet of its own. Until when you finish, you should be able to say that your life is literally heaven! The perfect life!

I would expect that somebody who mastered himself so much would be revered and even worshipped by thousands of people. But Ralston doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page. Kind of sad really. What is the link between self-mastery and fame? Can there be extremely egoless people who are not even noticed by others? Why is that?

Not only did I have over a hundred enlightenment experiences, I was able to shed a large part of my ego off completely. The only spiritual practice I ever did was 2 years of The Work of Byron Katie, which is a form of self inquiry. I did on average 90 mins per day, with three sessions each 30 mins. I did one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one at night time. That’s it. I’ve never done a retreat before.

That’s what I mean. ?

After ego death, survival will just be something that the body & mind does. It will not affect your emotional system in any way.

Or die as an ego.

Rather the strong intention feeds the regular practices. If you have little desire, you will practice half-heartedly, ending up only with mediocre results. If on the other hand you have strong desire, you will practice very well, ending up with exceptional results.

I highly doubt that they seriously want enlightenment. If they wanted it bad enough, they would get it.

If you’re talking about complete ego dissolution, then the answer is no. All suffering comes to protect the ‘I’, but if that’s completely dead, then nothing but peace will arise within you.

In recent blog videos, Leo is advocating that we try to understand the Absolute. But the problem is that the Absolute cannot be understood, because it is beyond mind. By melting your ego. Embodiment of Love = Selflessness. Once you have no ego, you will be completely selfless, i.e. completely loving.

Wrong. Byron Katie has talked about how she would, at random times, have her consciousness transferred to a building, and it would remain there for some time. She had similar experiences with seagulls, where her consciousness would just transfer to the seagull and remain for some time. And she did not take psychedelics. I understand that psychedelics are powerful, but please don’t discount meditation before you have done some research on it.

@winterknight I’m going to side with you on this one. I know what you’re talking about. Leo has been tripped up by spiritual concepts, the most dangerous concepts there are. God, Love and Truth are just more thoughts. Once they are fully dissolved, what remains is just Reality itself, with no qualities. With that being said, aren’t you overreacting a little bit by storming off this forum. Just because Leo disagrees with you, doesn’t mean you can’t carry on preaching. I would suggest you ignore Leo and continue this thread.

@Matt8800 Paranormal abilities can be very deceptive. There was a time when I really felt as though I could sense the future, and I decided to go to a random number generator, and I meditated until I got a number which I really felt will be the right number. I searched the number generator, and it was a completely different number. This broke some of my confidence in my abilities. Of course some confidence still remains, even though I’m still uncertain if my abilities will actually translate to the real world.

Become a modern ascetic. Get a part time job, and a small apartment, and live your life meditating. You’ll probably earn enough to live by yourself.

Leo just linked a video and titled the blog ‘aliens confirmed’. https://actualized.org/insights/aliens-confirmed But the video just showed a type of jellyfish spotted under water. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halitrephes. I’m pretty sure that they are not aliens, as they are a classified and known type of jellyfish. Would someone correct me if I’m wrong?
