  1. The Master doesn't talk, he acts. When his work is done, the people say, "Amazing: we did it, all by ourselves!” ― Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching
  2. I’m wondering if acing your life purpose and becoming world-class in something will solve the issue of attracting a girl? The logic is that if you are really good at helping a certain niche group of people, that at least one of them would be really grateful and would be attracted to you. There seems to be something attractive about someone who is really good at something. I don’t know really but it makes sense. What do you guys think about this?
  3. @Thomas_VH well, right now I'm working full time on my life purpose. I'm trying to build the initial momentum so I don't have time to spend with dating.
  4. @Sahil Pandit is that Leo in your profile photo? Really looks like him.
  5. @Sahil Pandit Your profile photo looks like it’s Leo. Is that so?
  6. As a beginner you should only focus on sitting with your eyes closed. When your mind gets a hang of the practice, it will do it on its own, despite what you’re doing. Until then, I advice that you stick with a normal meditation practice.
  7. 1000 years from now does not exist. You are imagining all of reality right now as God. 2019 is also an imagination. Right now is all that existed and all that will ever exist. It’s hard to understand this from the ego’s point of view. How about you start meditating and actually raise your consciousness.
  8. Byron Katie talks about how after you’ve done The Work for a while, it ‘wakes up inside of you. It will undo beliefs on its own.’ It’s really the same with all meditation techniques. If you do it for a long while, your mind will do it on its own. Then you can just stop.
  9. @VictorB02 If you become enlightened, the people around you will definitely notice. Self mastery has a quality that attracts people like nothing else. So get enlightened, then you may teach.
  10. Of course 1 session won’t do anything. But if you can sustain it for 2-3 years, you will get some amazing breakthroughs. “Good things come to those who wait.”
  11. I spent two years meditating everyday for 1-2 hrs. You can certainly do it in the city. Just meditate 30 mins in the morning before work, and 30 mins at night after work.
  12. @Consilience What you know about the object is the object. There’s nothing more to it. If you’re walking on the desert and see a snake, the snake is real. Until, on closer inspection, you realise that the snake was in fact a rope, in that moment, the snake becomes a rope. The rope only came into existence when you thought of it.
  13. @karkaore it’s true that every path is equal, but that doesn’t mean you should choose any. Choose the best path for you. The path that will make you the happiest. What else is there to do in life?
  14. @VeganAwake what I found is that the spiritual ego is a phase on your journey to melting the ego. You can’t skip that stage. The mistake would be to stop there. And anyway, I think that the spiritual ego is superior to a normal ego. A spiritual ego is just a half-melted ego.
  15. How will knowing the critiques of Zen Buddhism help you?
  16. @Leo Gura How does fear relate to other emotions. Byron Katie said that all negative emotions stem from fear. Is this true?
  17. Let the sadhguru of the next generation deal with those problems.
  18. I also reached that point a while back. I can barely get myself to read any of the books in the booklist (or any books for that matter) because I have no interest in “manipulating” reality that much.
  19. It seems that Eckhart Tolle is aware of the collective human consciousness that Leo has talked about in his blog. He believes that a conscious human being is raising the collective human consciousness just by being present. It’s an interesting idea. Can an enlightened person really help another just by being in front of them?
  20. What do you mean?
  21. That won’t get you to enlightenment.
