I'm just telling you how it works. You want to argue and keep hold of your views, thats fine. I speak to sincere people who are interested in taking different perspectives and questioning their existing knowledge. No true non dual teaching advocates the acceptance of dysfunction. I used your statement not in the context of actually answering you, but to illustrate a common misconception. If you were interested and humble you would inqure instead of get on your soap box trying to prove how uninformed and misunderstanding of your view i am. This is common in the world of Maya, which IS fine, but it's got nothing to do with non duality, its just pious platitudes and gross minsundestanding of the proper teachings. If you want to learn then start asking what else is out there, be curious or stick to your many enlightenment books, whatever. I dont care. Learn sanskrit or go to a teacher who has steeped themselves in the actual teachings instead of reading New Age regurgitated crap that borrows the same ideas but nobody notices this doesnt actually work. Keep going to Satsang for "experiences" and mistake experiences for Realization. Realization is knowledge.

LOL, I see you want a reaction from that. I have dropped arguing, thats why im not even going to entertain your need for stimulation. This is a forum, in real life I could just sit there and communicate Im not playing your games. But here I need to type words.

Teal Swan or Maharshi + 3000 years of distilled tried and tested wisdom? Whats to undertsand? -

It is upto you what you do. You are not open to discussion, you want me to back up my claims, but I'll be honest, all I have is my own experience and what I have learned for myself. I cannot possibly verify every single point. The points I was making were generalizations to get you to look at your own teachers. I've had criticism from somebody who advocates Teal Swan. As soon as a person mentions Teal Swan they must surely know they are shooting themselves in the foot there. It's not about eletism either, its about finding out what works. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Any of these teachers could give some good advice. But if you actually find experts in serious fields and not just people who read the latest New Age offerings you are going to find that there are vast differences in the teachings. How can you disregard contemplation of a teaching, a teaching that has been around for 3 millenia and that has produced some of the most highly respected Self Realized people in favour of making me wrong. Who cares f i made a belief system from it? I havent, Im just interested in what really works. The point is, its advice to grow up and start looking for masters who can supplement what is missing from these New Age watered down methods. -

@HereNowThisMoment Most people involved in this know that Mooji is not Self Realized. Papaji, went on record saying that he only ever met 2 jhanis in his life. Neither of them was "the leech" he had to get rid of. What you are doing is accepting teachers who have no credibility, and rejecting info that is pretty much common knowledge in the scene. If you want to buy into post modern ecclectic New Ageism and run down the traditions and the people who did the real hard work then what does this say about your own critical thinking? Not much. Who wants to debate with someone like that? This is about your ego, and because you didnt like my delivery. Thats what its really about -

You blindly accept Mooji, Adyashanti and Eckhart Tolle. So whats the big deal here? Im not interested in convincing you. I know what Im saying works, because it actually works, meditation did not work for me, and I decided to undertstand the intricacies of what is an essentally dumbed down manistream spiritual movement now. Instead of spending energy debating with people I could not care less about, and you trying to strawman my strawmen while,we get into a conceptual tug of war while you attend to your next £3000 Adyshanti 10 day retreat, you could actually go research it yourself. Dont shoot the messenger -

By the way , I am all for critical thinking. It is much needed in this world right now, and I'v spent years myself doing the same. Teachings however, right teachings, are not debatable. This defeats the object. The teachings are there to be internalized through experience. Endless debate of teachings is not the road to Realization. So open mindedness is appt in one situation but not others. If I approach the non dual teachings with criticism I am setting myself up for failure. I'm happy to critique crap like The Power Of Now, because it is obviously a false teaching. That much is obvious when you scratch the surface and begin to see that Satsang with Mooji is just for the masses, even his own master said Mooji was not Self Realized. Apologies to whomever follows Mooji, my intent is not to offend (much), but 97% inform and encourage critical thinking about who has the real sources of info. -

OK, I will try to be more helpful. I dont want to come across as a teacher, just a guy who knows a bit of stuff and can offer a pointer to complete sources that will actually help you, because this statement here says that you have not experienced nirvikalpa samadhi yet. This is vital information. I need to know what enlightenment is, I need a road map, because then I wont be on Actualized.org asking about it, I'll be with my teacher who knows the system inside out and who can help me with these things. You have not experienced your independence of the world yet. You need to experience that before you can be sure that you cannot be destroyed. Youre still identified as mind and matter. The teaching is that consciousness gives rise to mind and matter by projecting itself outward as an appearance. This is not a belief, but an instruction to contemplate. And inquiry for want of a better word. So this is the first hurdle. If you had a decent teacher you would know this, because you know it theoretically and when you stumble upon NKS there will be absolutely no doubt that you are not this body. I don't follow Adya, but if he's not giving you this teaching then it's because A) he does not know B) Hes a Buddhist, therefore he is not Self-Realized, he's still trying to realize emptiness which is still an appearance inside the illusion. See where Im going with this? -
Enlightenment is not an experience. It never was. Nirvikalpa Samadhi is not even enlightenment. Enlightenment comes after that once you realize you exist independent of the world. Then you can live in the world free, and not needing to argue with people about their beliefs and how much more spiritual you are than them. Enlightenment is not about action either. It is about Realizing the Self. Realizing the Self is done through the contemplation of the correct non dual pointers, self inquiry, and using the right methods to destroy the vasanas. And who told you that beliefs hinder enlightenment? The only belief you need to destroy is that you are not your thoughts and experience. Then you can leave the person alone with their beliefs to function in the relative world. In the relative world you need beliefs, otherwise you become unhappy because you are not learning the ways of the world. Do you have a belief that you need to destroy beliefs in order to be enlightened? Where did this belief come from? Did Leo plant that in your head? Now you have another bogus teaching that assumes that the ego can become enlightened and have all these experiences of "raw unfiltered seeing" or whatever other crap thats being published by the bastardised Boomeritis Buddhism crew.
-
Believe me, experience has nothing to do with it. Once you know nirvikalpa samadhi you know you exist independent of the world. There is nothing else you need to "experience". Realization is not an experience, its is beyond that. It is the truth that you are non dual awareness. But the axe Im grinding is you deny relative existence. That is not Realization, and you dnt know the vasana, karma yoga and the things that make Self Realization stick. Again, it is a contemplation of the knowledge. Like fire is hot and sugar is sweet. Its not about experiences, it's about knowledge. That is not a belief or a dogma, it is a sensible approach to making this a reality rather than a bunch of experiences. You are already the Self. Do you know that? No. If you did, you would not need to change the realaitve domain, because the person and the world is not the problem. Dogma is not a problem, war is not a problem. Sex is not a problem if you are not this mind and body. Once you know that you just life like a normal person and drop the angry non dogma bullshit. THATS Self Realization. Not this half baked nonsense that there is no people and no relationships, thats just another belief that the Neo Adviatia crew propegrate and thats why their sanghas are full every weekend, because they dont know they are the Self
-
OK. For me I' m not attched to the result. I tried and this is my path, karma yoga which I learned from the teachings. What else can I do except try to offer some more insight rather than band about one liner beliefs so people can cherry pick and fit into their story? Because thats what this New Ages system is, its incomplete. Let me ask you, how much have you researched this topic? Youre 18? Ive been a seeker all my life, and have gone through everything been very open minded and came to the conclusion (not belief) that there is only one way to realize the Self. Years of trial and error. Years of debate. Years of study. Years of self inquiry. Years of loooking for something that makes sense and actually works. I only once debated with someone over knowledge that could help me. Because I' m a learner, I'm open to being taught, and I want to be the best. I've seen all of Leos videos, they are good, but the best they will do is offer a taster. Most of the spiritual teaching are tasters. The amount of books and resources I've read (nd none of them I believed) and heard so many times that the likes of Papajis mignions are not Self Realized, and then when I find teachers who have shown me powerful ways to understand, all I can do is try to pass that onto other sincere people who dont mind just investigating a new possible bit of info just to see if they can get an edge in their practice. I know I'm doing the right thing, because I know my experience. I used to argue this angry "non dogma" bullshit as a red herring to avoid being truly open minded, but I soon quickly learned that it got me nowhere, it was an ego fueulliing mind game. So I dropped it and spent my energy finding out what works. Most people never become enlightened. Most Sangah hoppers never become enlightened. Some people do by chance, and by other paths, but most of them stole a bit of Adviata Vedanta because they knew the right sources of info. Its a close club, most enlightened people cannot be bothered even teaching, so what you are exposed to now is the dregs of the egos who decided they had the authority to teach but are not even Self Realized. Would you learn drive with an instructor who didnt know the highway code? Depends on how serious you are. You are not even close

OK. Well, I gave you my advice, you posted here, perhaps my delivery was not suited to your open minded palette, but a sincere seeker reads between the lines and is looking for what is there that is of value rather than playing word games and subtely defending themselves against the violation of some unresolved value. Its there if you want it, I apologise that my delivery was ineffective. If you are open for sincere discussion then you can message me. If not, then that fine also -
Im not fighting, Im pointing out worms ignorance and arrogance in the hopes that he might just stop and notice with awareness that he has not actually read a word Ive said, just interpreted it all via his own vasanas and subconscious. This is a good time to point out how ineffective the neo rubbish actually is.

How can you get confused with a 3000 year old teaching that has been producing Self-Realized people for as long as it has been around? This is just pure hubris. You ever hear of standing on the shoulder of giants? This is why youre on here being controlled by your vasanas and arguing shit without even reading or contemplating the conversation. Is this a demonstration of the validity of your 30 second non dual experiences over a 3000 year old tradition?

Worm... Can you actually read?

Its quite clear to me that you have absolutely no understanding what Krishnamurti meant by this statement. This is why we need to stick to specific theologies to get specific issues handled. The pathless path IS Adviata Vedanta, because it says you are already the Self, but there is also a path involved to liberation. Pathless path does NOT mean everything and anything works. It could work, but you could leave it to chance for a few thousand lifetimes until your karma is good enough to manifest the real Guru -
Matthew Lamot replied to HereNowThisMoment's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Its not Absolutely true. This again is you and your mind. Have I ever said that Advaitia Vedanta is the Absolute Truth? It's not. There are many aspects to the net we call consciousness. If you want to fix up the identity then try Maslow and huamnistic psychology. If you want expansion in to the no-ospehere then go for a Buddhist path. If you want to Realize the ONE Self that then you need Adviatia. This is relative existence. There is a difference between McDonnalds and Gordon Ramsay. If you want Mac Donnalds go there. It works for that aspect of consciousness. If you want Liberation you must go to the guys who specialize in liberation. Have you even considered the belief that all these paths lead to the same goal might even be bullshit? Being non- dogmaitc is a belief like any other, but one that fucks you over because when you want Gordons 3 star Michelin foie gras and instead you get a soggy Subway and you wonder what happened? -
In Advaita they say "good riddance"

You can call it dogma, but just be aware that its you who is labelling it that. Dogma is not what I'm seeing. You can take a chance with those guys, it might be your karma. -
I thought you were not going to reply? Yes, there is enlightened people. All people are the Self, there is only one Self, and its has always been enlightened. But that's not the end of the matter, the fact is that relative existence is real, and in relative existence you have Self Realized people and you have people bound by Maya. I'm not sure why its so difficult for you to grasp, this will probably enlighten you if you contemplated this correct teaching. But nothing is getting through to you. Why is that? Because you made a belief about being non dogmatic and damn it you are going to stick to that belief no matter what? LOl Im not even talking about fucking Ramana and his superpowers. If you actually read my contributions I'm saying that there is a specific path, and that the pathless path (Adviata Vedanta) is it. Not s fucking conglomoration of fcking Bhuddhim and fucking Mooji blitzed into one fucking mashed potato fucking soup. Calm down and listen, because you might learn a lot from me. Or maybe you wont. But it doesnt matter, because these teachings are for serious students and not Sangha hoppers who need their Sunday morning Mooji every week and mistake that expererience with liberation. Liberation is not an experience, it is knowledge.

Beliefs are fine. Advaita means I am the Self, this means I don't have to change the person or his beliefs. His beliefs are needed in conventional relative existence. That's enlightenment I'm not sure where you get your ideas from, but I have heard them before What it looks like you are trying to do is make the Self enter the stream of time, bring an enlightened Self into this realm for you to live in this realm with. That the only explanation I can offer for your POV. The Self never enters into this reality, this is the most simpleist thing you can get, the rest of it about dogma and no beliefs is just a...dogmatic belief? lol Who told you this? Leo?

OK.

You need some proper teachings. This is why nobody gets enlightened, because the wrong information is being put out there. I made the analogy that if I want to create a Michelin Star meal, I go find a Michelin Star chef who can teach me the real things. I don't go into Mac Donnalds expecting a gourmet 10 course meal. This is relative reality and these are the rules. The rules are set in stone, humanity is very fickle and it has its secret societies and teachings. Do you really think Papaji and his mingions are able to prepare you for the Self? No, becuase the dont have a background education in Adviaita, and Adviata is the one true statement that is true for everyone. Try James Swartz, Ramana, et all. This here in the mainstream is the introduction to the idea of Self Relaization, but its not the path. The egos decided that they knew more than the collective body or knowledge and this is why we get the Satsang hoppers and the Byron Katie enthusiasts who treat it like a religion. Come on, serious students dont stop here at this.
