Mooji is not enlightened. Sorry -
This is also a very nonsense statement and also very ignorant. What I assume this person means here that somehow as an ego he is special and others who get in his way are not. This is just fucking narcissism at its best. If you listen to crap like this you will end up like that yourself. Doing karma yoga and seeing that you are also part of the needy people who is not getting their desires met by a nasty universe will fair you better. No wonder you feel alienated if you are being influenced by this nonsense.
-
What you got to understand is, they are not trying to hold you down, they are just doing what they need to do in life, because they are also trapped in their own desires and trapped in a field that doesnt seem to care about their wants either. If you can see how this works, you can see that nothing is personal, and the universe is just doing what it does. This is how it actually is, its not a case that people are out to mess with you, (that is a way of intepreting things), but it is not based on reality and what is really going on. The more you adopt the karma yoga view the more you understand reality and what is going on there. To be able to seperate what is true from what is false is the mark of a person who is going places. If you make it personal, then youre screwed, because then the mind gets very agitated and everybody is your enemy. Choose your frame wisely

@Blaze35 One of the first things you can learn to do when faced with resistance from other people (and it's not just in the family, it is pretty much everywhere you go) is practice an attitude called karma yoga. This is extremely powerful, and it will develop your mind and heart to a high level, you will keep your sense of humour when being dragged down and you will be able to think clearly because if you learn this practice you can free up a shit load of mental energy so that you can get on with your life. First you need to understand how life works. When you perform an action, like writing this post for (example sake) you are always looking for an outcome. Everybody is. I defy anybody to tell me that when they put something out there, they are not doing it to get something back. This is just how every human being works. As long as we are a human nervous system this is what is going on, this exchange. Now, you need to get to grips with the fact that the RESPONSE you get actually doesn't belong to you, that you are not actually entitled to it. This is the tricky counter intuitive part. You are putting actions out there in order to get pleasure from the response yeah, but the secret is you must learn to put those actions out there and understand that it is ultimately upto the "field" what response you get back. This is because the field is a very large complex system that is dependent on so many factors. To illustrate this simply, lets think about your post. You wrote it in hope for a good response, yeah? Well, as soon as you hit the submit button, you have put the message out there and now it's in the hands of the field. So, just say I read your post, and then I decide to answer it, depending on the mood I'm in I might not write a great response. But that's not just me, your response isnt dependent on just me. Its dependent on a whole bunch of other factor. Like, my level of education, the place I'm inhabiting when I write the message, what mood I was in, my current state of mind as a whole, my neighbours who are playing loud music, their dog who is sick and who they are rushing out the house to take to the vet while they accidentally clip my car mirror and take it clean off, then Im more pissed at that and this all comes back to you in a form you didnt really hope for. So this is how the field works. It is huge, and it doesnt conform to our wishes, it is more interested in organizing itself for its own sake. Sometimes it does respond well, but the complex nature of it makes it more likely that we dont really get what we were hoping for most of the time. Yes, good things happen, and you can verify that in your experience. But if you also look at the way life works, you will see that it actually does work in this way that does not conform to your wishes, and that most of the things we hope for never quite materialize in the way we really want. The more you self actualize, the more you see that this is how reality works. But this is not the complete picture. At the same time we also learn how to cope with these little defeats. If we are wise, we learn to let go of expectation and just do our thing regardless. No person can not act. Everyone acts, even sitting still is an action. So there is no escape from action. We cannot escape this world and having a body mind organism that is always in direct relationship to a universe that does not always respond kindly to our expectations. So how to deal with this? Well, we need to put our thing out there and learn to let go of the outcome - come what may! But also at the same time contemplate and have this background self inquiry going on and being observant about our desires and if we think fulfilling our desires and attempting to get them filled is really the way to become happy? This is not going to change you overnight, but if you take it seriously and analyze life and reality you will come to the point where you are not bothered what happens when you put your authentic self out there, and moreso you will begin to slowly slowly give up a lot of the desires that will be keeping you fixated on trying to get what you think you want to make you happy. So this is how to deal with life that is not agreeing with you, while still being who you are, and while engaging in an ongoing inquiry into the nature of life and whether your attempts to get happiness from your environment are really worth pursuing in the end.

This is quite insidious. Ok, let me play into your fantasy here and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Just say I am acting like a prick. Why do you come down hard with this nonsense here? Suggesting I quit my path and that? Youre speaking like you know me. Like you have been observing me for a while and maybe after a few years of banging my head against the Vedantic brick wall you can see how I have turned sour with this path. That I might accept. But you have not oberved me at all. You see postings I have made over a week or two. How about I suggest a new thought patter for you? "Oh, he's a prick. He might just be on his path and suffering a bit right now, it must be hard dismantling the ego. Oh well, each to their own, Im sure he will change just like everything else does. In the mean time I think I'll give him a wide birth". How about that? Feel better? More sane? Less intrusive? Less aggressive? More mature and self actualized? More in touch with the options? Its upto you what you make of your experience. Its none of my business what is going on in your head, so its none of your business what is going on in mine. Learn some respect and objectivity, or dont. I dont care. Its your life, but please, dont tell me what to do with my life, its none of your business my friend. Got it?

mmm. I'm not sure what to say. Except I recognize these things you are saying, and they look to me like victim butt hurt and manipulation to get me to adjust to you and your ego. As far as I can see there is no value in you keep coming at me with this nonsense. You need to be aware that not everybody in life is like you, likes you, or is going to be what you want. Keep banging your head against the brick wall. I'm just glad it's your head and not mine lol

mmm, speaking SD, you might want to consult that book, because it's basically saying that most of the worlds pop are still at this tribal mentality, and tribal leaders with world class weapons don't mix well. I don't think we are evolving at all, only about 0,1 percent maybe are where they need to be in terms of having let go of trying to do anything. This is a very sobering thought because even those who are developed enough to see the issues are still part of the problem space. I dont even think about this stuff anymore, very interesting, but its like reading a novel. We're just an experiment anyway, and if it's God's will to destroy this aspect of himself then so be it. God is bigger than I am

The solution is (obviously) Vedanta. Ramana Maharishi liberated a cow, so anything is possible! Stay tuned!

? This is absurd.

What would make me obnoxious is if I were not interested in serving the needs of my environment. This environment here is too needy for me, and have not taken kindly to my offering. Instead people like yourself have made it into a ego gratification thing where you let your butt hurt ego get in the way of good advice. If I were a kiddie fiddler, I might be inclined to take your advice. But I'm not, I'm here posting, doing what others are doing in my way. There are people who dont have a problem with it, so I can only assume those that do that it's not about me, but rather about you and your needs based on your distorted patterns of thinking. I've been working on myself for years man, this is why I can spot a sick ego. What, you think I read this in a book and I'm just parroting it on here? Im here to offer insight for people who are serious about Liberation and dont just want to enter into a game of poke their own reflection. Nothing you have said so far about me has been accurate. So I can only assume that it is you who need to do the work and stop believing your thoughts too much. Is that helpful? Because I feel my advice might be too advance for you. Next to apologizing to you for something I have not even done, I cant think of anything else that will help you. I've given you all I have, and that is a shit load of advice, practices, feedback and links to goldmine sites. You should be like a kid in a sweetshop lol

The fact of the matter is this: Once you realize the Self, its is sympathetic toward the Jiva, how can it not be? It allows the Jiva to be and in the process this liberates the Jiva and heals it. The Jiva then expresses that freedom through its faculties, but knows deep down that it's depth is not of this world. Limitless and fearless. What is being described above sounds like the person is still the person but has a concept that he is awareness. This is not liberation. -
Right, so Vedanta is bullshit, and your version of the ego and inner self is the correct one? Thanks, I'll start taking notes! lol And this is not playschool, Im not here to be an example to anything, Im not a door to door salesman looking for a sale. Again, you are trying to manipulate me into being something you need in order to convince you that you should take up Vedanta. You are not ready for Vedanta, and this is not about you. Its about me making a point that the New Age attracts people who need role models to convince them to think a certain way. This is what the New Age attracts, this kind of thinking and level of reasoning. C'mon man, do you really think you can speak of ego when you really dont know? You must learn intellectually first, and then experience the ego by observing the correct teachings rather than making up your own, calling Vedanta bullshit and getting all butthurt because I'm not being enough "Jehovas witness" for you
-
This is nothing but manipulation and mind games. You are asking me to change because I dont fit into your model of what a person should be. If you were actually aware of "ego" you would understand that this is nothing but a form of social mindgame and emotional reasoning. Leave the personal stuff out of it and concentrate on the teaching. That is what youre here for, to not be a guy with preferences but to develop what the tradition calls a sattivc mind free of personal preferences that is able to self inquire.
-
Are you attempting to call my ego out with your butthurt psycho-emotional over reaction? Study Vedanta, and understand what the ego is. The ego is programming that is created by identifying with your thoughts, feelings, perceptions and experiences. The inner self is the observer, already whole, already non dual and limitless. This is the teaching, and misleading yourself and others is just lies dependent on your butthurt-ness. Click on the link below and discover what Vedanta says about reality, rather than making it up as you go along and then getting butthurt because somebody says its not accurate. Its nothing to do with "me" its to do with you not misleading people with your nonsesne.
-
Yes this is true. But you are putting your insights above the truth, and when somebody says its bullshit you get butthurt an post emotionally hurt nonsese based on what you saw on a youtube video. Thats ego, because you still believe you are your insights, and not the observer, so when you believe you are your insights what else is there than to be butthurt about it? Vadanta is 100% accruate analysis of reality, if you want to know what the ego is, and what the real self is then you must study Vedanta and stop making up your own version of what the ego is and getting butthurt because somebody does not agree with it.

The path to enlightenment is not being taught here. It is inaccurate. This is a site for entry level personal development, and the source of information reflects that. -
Matthew Lamot replied to Kevin Dunlop's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes. And its not what is being taught here. -
Matthew Lamot replied to Kevin Dunlop's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Because in ever haystack there is a needle desperate and ready for the teaching. And those are the ones who find Vedanta. Lots of people are ready, and have contacted me already to find the truth beyond this egoic pluralsitic assault on innocent seekers in this modern times. Once you know what enlightenment is you will laugh at the absurdity of this system of having to read a million books that all contradict the process along with the millions of rising charlatan "self help gurus" all eager to transform you into their version via their work because they are nothing but ego gratifying carpet baggers. Thats why -
Matthew Lamot replied to Kevin Dunlop's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I'll pass. My path does not allow for corrupt interpetations willy nilly from random strangers who are trying to hippify me into believing their nonsense. If I need to go through what Im going through, it is because my path has set that forth, and sometmes its best to let it happen than try to find nonsesne platitudes that thwart my process. Empty means a stage Im at in my own tradition, and that tradition is Vedanta. It has its own specific meaning and I am mature enough to ignore nonsense from hippes who claim to have a "solution" to my process. This is the ignorance of this New Ages system, this is why nobody becomes enlightened with this pluralism of nonsense. Its clear to me that you know nothing of what enlightenment is if you think you can push your nonsesne hippy pluralism onto me to educate me. -

Im not sure if you are refering to me? You sent me a message recently so Im guessing you are following that up. Rest assured, because I became aware of somebodys helpful wording that helped me make a correlarion between the Actualized.org cults definitions and my own, doesnt mean im condoning multi path nonsense, or open mindedness. Enlightenment is a very strict and specific path, and is not to be tampered with. Yes, there are people on paths, that is undeispuatble, but the path to enlightenment is not subject to debate. -
This is nonsense. A) You dont know that the watcher is already whole, complete, non dual, limetless. So this is bullshit numero 1 B) The ego will get better once permanent disidentification has happened, no need to do anything. Just get a satvic mind and let the self inquiry continue. C) When a person can deconstruct your ego with real and accurate insight, it can be said they are further along on the path than you. But ultimately you want a teacher to do that for you to protect you from people laying their trip on you, newbies who know nothing except what they learned in a youtube video. D) The ego is not going to work for you, this is another bullshit fallacy, the ego actually just does what it is programmed to do until Iswara has done its dirty deed with it and you have paid your karmic dues.

Understood, and thank you for sharing that, it is a concept that I never understood until now. Another member also just informed me of the same, at exactly the same time as you, hows that for New Age synchronicity? lol I think I took it literally that all paths lead to the same goal, I was like What?? But yes, in my terminology you have just given me a "universal" perspective, which I also happen to agree with, although I did not know it consciously until now. However, what happens when were tired of the seeking, and Self Development is still seeking, what then? This is the axe Im grinding here (lately), what is next after all has been seen as "empty"? This is the big one, and I think because I'm stuck viewing the world in this way right now (im on my own path too) I kind of get tunnel vision in respect to other paths and stages of growth. But, yeah, in agreement with you there. Thanks again! -
Matthew Lamot replied to Kevin Dunlop's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Vedanta is 100% perfect. It is an analysis of reality, not a school of thought, or a philosophy or a religion. Different paths produce different results, for example therapy produces a well adjusted member of society, where enlightenment produces enlightened people. Being well adjusted does not equate to enlightenment. Who taught you this idea that all paths lead to the same goal?
