Lel I feel retarded now, that's genius
-
I am a genius, You win by being wrong two times on a 3 option question!
-
How am I wrong, if I've said all three options?
-
Oh so the answer is B, no.
-
I know I'm wrong on the first one but how am I wrong on the second one? Dunno what to search for to find the answer.
-
C, we can't know, because we don't know what's Lea's relationship status. Someone who says yes is assuming, which is common on this forum. Is this right?
-
So it is. It's mental shortcuts, heuristics, that are commonly wrong. It's from the book Thinking Fast and Slow. There's also some exercises and examples in this book, but I haven't read it all. https://www.lesswrong.com/rationality

https://www.caltech.edu/news/cracking-code-facial-recognition-78508 "... The central insight of the new work is that even though there exist an infinite number of different possible faces, our brain needs only about 200 neurons to uniquely encode any face, with each neuron encoding a specific dimension, or axis, of facial variability. In the same way that red, blue, and green light combine in different ways to create every possible color on the spectrum, these 200 neurons can combine in different ways to encode every possible face—a spectrum of faces called the face space. ..."

"It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest." - Adam Smith You want your bread, and the baker wants the money. It's a positive sum transaction. The question you should ask is how will anyone get the money to buy the bread? Especially if the baker is a robot, and the vegetable grocer is unemployed. Self-interest is not a problem, self-interested robots are not a problem, robots who are built to bake bread and make money... It's that people don't have the money to buy bread from the robots, simply enough. That's where UBI comes in and I think it's one possible solution to mass unemployment and bureaucracy. Now regarding immigration, it's correct that there is an intellectual drain via legal immigration, but I don't think that is a net negative if you look at the entire Earth. I think that first world countries should help third or second world countries in their development. So the same educated people that left their home countries can aid in uplifting them.

@Ampresus I suggest to start reading as much as you can about the brain, and relevant neural networks like the default mode network. Your only 14 so your brain and cognitive ability hasn't matured yet. So in case you don't understand much now you can always re-read it again when you are older. Of course from your experience you think you are as smart as you will get. Search Gary Weber on YouTube, he's a valuable resource. https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defaultnetwerk Learn how to use pubmed.gov to search for studies, you can search for instance meditation and default mode network and get the entire paper by copy-pasting the DOI to sci-hub.tw. insha'Allah -
Emerald, please, why are you so obsessed about this? Look at how you phrase yourself, putting yourself on a pedestal and sound like an insane preacher: "[Listening to Jordan Peterson is] unconsciousness" "[Jordan's] influence enables people to get further lodged into a contracted perspective that is unconscious, destructive, and discouraging to the forward momentum of society ..." "is to make people realize that his perspective is narrow, unconscious, and steeped in all sorts of biases (especially anti-feminine biases"

Leo doesn't really. Just go through a few pages of his content and see for yourself. Fake drama. https://www.actualized.org/forum/profile/1-leo-gura/?do=content&page=1

Gary Weber suggests it and self-inquiry so one could do both during one session. -

Not sure what's your goal. Do you know it yourself? -
Outer replied to winterknight's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I will think about it. I just do inquiry every now and then at the moment. But I've actually used self-inquiry to stop thought. It's like you neurofeedback on your own to stop thought. No thought is feedback. -

That has been my point all along as it's founded upon a racist belief of division of humans into races and putting conscious value on it. But at the same time it's not dumb to acknowledge the unconscious racist belief of division of humans into races, among other ones. But we're not 100% sure there is unconscious racist beliefs at least depending on our definition of racism. Technically I don't think that racist paternalism is applicable to the case of systemic racism. Systemic racism is basically the unconscious racism bias existing in most peoples mind's, but that is just an assumption as we can't even measure it accurately. It might turn out that most people don't have racism bias. Though it depends how we define racism. But we do definitely have biases, as it's a part of our cognitive machinery, to utilize heuristics or mental shortcuts for various reasons. I do agree with the article however, racist paternalism is definitely a thing, and it is founded upon the same belief as the racists, namely that people can be divided into races/groups and that we must give value to Any color of the skin rather than organizing our organizations and institutions, etc, around the fact that all are to be treated fairly and equally, to the point that we don't even have to bring it up. -
Outer replied to AlwaysBeNice's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I don't doubt that we, pretty much all, have unconscious biases for racism and other things, and that this is reflected in our institutions. It's a part of our cognitive machinery. I suspect you mostly speak of the conscious racism that in our opinions, should be reduced. There are heuristics / mental shortcuts. I do think that there is a biological factor but that doesn't mean we shouldn't maximize what we can do environmentally. If we eliminate all bias then we lose our mental shortcuts which can be very useful. Simply being aware of our biases can help a lot. I think there are more pressing issues than unconscious biases, like animal welfare, non-UBI society, human welfare, malaria, racism, etc. But it is good that Emerald brings it up. It might be worthwhile to simply ask "do you think we have unconscious biases?" -

Half-relevant. Maybe this is more relevant I can't find the video I'm looking for. -

Anyway, we do have biases, lots of logical ones, even racist ones, so does our institutions. But without the Tyrannical element of the state there isn't the Wise one. As the king is both wise and tyrannical. It's just that it has to be in check and balanced. -

The big picture is to raise average conscious level, let's forget about saving people from Malaria, or the billions of animals being slaughtered. Or the coming mass unemployment from Artificial Intelligence. Those are just details, it's the big picture from my Ivory tower that matters. What does even conscious level mean? How is it measured? I love how you almost never address what I am asking, it's just "details" am I right? I need to do self-inquiry to "figure it out" Ideology.
