Hey all. So I just completed Leo's video, 'Enlightenment Guided Inquiry - The Neti Neti Method'. I struggle to sit in one position for that amount of time so I changed positions a few times because my back ached. I ended with lying down on the floor belly up with a book supporting my head, I had to keep my eyes open for a lot of it to avoid falling asleep, which I almost did (The video wasn't boring, i'm just really tired). Anyway, this isn't really too relevant to it all but just a bit of background on how I listened to the video. Nothing really earth shattering happened, how ever as I had my eyes open the ceiling was changing colour slightly, and then I closed my eyes and saw these strange burst of vivid colour like paint splatters. What I wonder is, was a genuine experience, or if it was my ego telling me that I HAVE to have some sort of experience and therefore pushed it into my consciousness.. Thoughts? Thanks!

@RossE Thanks for keeping it real! I don't think it's from keeping my eyes open for an hour though. On average, I have my eyes open for about 15 hours a day!- 6 replies

@electroBeam Wow. That's so nice to hear actually. I'm very happy. Could I use Leo's video every day? Or will the words lose meaning if I know what's coming? What's another way?- 6 replies

Hey guys. I was wondering, that if you have a passion, what signs can show that it is genuine? For examples if you want to use it to serve other people rather than just yourself, is it more spiritually grounded? Do enlightened people want anything else other than just to be enlightened? Do they want to contribute to the less fortunate? Thanks.

@Leo Gura Leo.. Every time I think about spiritual enlightenment my mind keeps creating a very false image of what it is. It's like it's telling me to not follow the path even a little because I'll have to give up what I love. I know on an intellectual level this isn't true but I keep taking it all out of context. How can I stop this? -
Heeeey guys. Firstly let me apologise for if the formatting of the post is bad, as I'm doing it on my phone. So I've been upping my game a little in the last couple of weeks, and doing perhaps double or triple what I've been doing in the past, but the issue is I always feel a sense of guilt or confusion. This is because I still don't know if I'm doing enough. I look at my work idols and I can see they've done a lot more but if I'm driven by guilt it makes me feel bad and probably do even less. I want to make this my life's work but sometimes distractions come and make me feel bad. Like the other day I was invited out by a work friend and I've not been out in a couple of weeks so why not.. I do my 'normal' job in the day. No time to do some work after work and I go straight out, all night until sleep. So a whooole day with nothing done and it makes me feel like I've wasted a lot of time and I feel bad for that. Should I feel bad and guilty? Is it a good motivator? Or not? Am I trying to do too much and cram? I don't know. Opinions please. Thanks :-)

What I did today to edge me closer to being one of the most impactful actors of this generation :- - Watched a 45 minute episode of 'Playing Shakespeare' - Worked on my monologues for about 45 minutes - Read the play 'The Dutchess of Malfi' for however long. Other Success Habits I completed today:- - Today I looked at my Dreamboard - Today I expressed gratitude. - 5 minute meditation General notes/Notes of improvement/Affirmations :- - Divide what you want to do into small pieces. Don't be overwhelmed. It is not a straight forward thing. Small effort over a long time is better than burning out over a big effort in a short time.

The White Belt replied to ULFBERHT's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@ULFBERHT The thing is that if you don't follow enlightenment people will just tell you 'your ego is telling you not to follow it', which is just such a shitty thing to say to someone because it will put people in in a state of confusion, self-hate and self-denial. It is totally and utterly irresponsible and wrong (and here will come others telling me this is my ego speaking). Also Leo said that not following enlightenment will be like chasing your tail for happiness if you don't go on the journey. This black and white thinking is simply not true, and creates the assumption that the few thousand 'enlightened' people on the earth are only truly happy. I'd rather embrace the up and downs than think that way about people. -

What I did today to edge me closer to being one of the most impactful actors of this generation :- - Today I guess you could say was a 'rest' day, but certainly not a purposefully lazy day. I read the play 'Dutchess of Malfi' for ten minutes, and in the evening I went to a gig which is why I didn't do much else. However at the gig I got to see some supporting acts perform poetry which I feel ties in with acting, and the main act was a political rapper. Theatre is very political. Other Success Habits I completed today:- - Today I looked at my Dreamboard - Today I expressed gratitude. - 5 minutes affirmations - Quick visualisation - 8 minute meditation General notes/Notes of improvement/Affirmations :- - Three days nofap - Perusing passion isn't a long military drill or a straight trajectory. There are ups and downs and every now and again a bit of procrastination is fine, and to be enjoyed.

What I did today to edge me closer to being one of the most impactful actors of this generation :- - Spent 30 minutes studying Stanislavski's 'Building a Character'. - Went over the lines of a play I will perform, 'The Threepenny Opera' for 20 Minutes. - Went to a local two hour acting workshop. Other Success Habits I completed today:- - Today I looked at my Dreamboard - Today I expressed gratitude. - 5 minutes affirmations - Quick visualisation - 20 minute meditation General notes/Notes of improvement/Affirmations :- - Different is good. Even if the workshop is crappy, getting up and acting is the most important part. No matter what the setting. Reading is great but not valuable if it stays in your head and isn't tried and tested in front of people. - Drop your anger as much as you can. Keep smiling. Come from happiness with whatever you do. Don't go to it.

Keep pushing! It's better to be on the upper side (what seems like the upper side anyway for now) of the gauge for a while so you can give resistance a well deserved kick in!

What I did today to edge me closer to being one of the most impactful actors of this generation :- - Spent one hour studying Stanislavski's 'Building a Character'. - Read aloud learned the lines of a play I will perform, 'The Threepenny Opera' for 30 Minutes. - Got a co-worker to listen to my Cockney accent. Other Success Habits I completed today:- - Today I looked at my Dreamboard - Today I expressed gratitude. - 5 minutes affirmations - Quick visualisation - Went down to my local Buddhist center for a mediation and talk General notes/Notes of improvement/Affirmations :- - I know you feel embarrassed to do your acting when your brothers around, but don't be. Seriously even if he thinks 'WTF', are you gonna' let that make you deprive the world of what will be stunning performances brought about by the ability to make a fool of yourself in front of absolutely anyone?

Keep doing that! - Don't hold onto your words when discussing a play, even if it sounds stupid, get into the habit of speaking up, yet also don't feel saying nothing and feeling like you absolutely have to come up with something. - Stop staring at the hot actresses (lol)! You have lots of other, more appropriate, opportunities to stare at hot girls but the acting workshop must be a place of absolute focus. - Seek critique not praise (But enjoy praise).

Heyyyyy. So when I watched my first movie as a young boy, I wanted to be an actor, and that always stuck with my mind. I took an acting workshop but because I was so young it was all confusing and I didn't want to go back, so my parents didn't make me, but the dream stuck with me, so about four years ago I signed up for some other acting workshops and it was an incredible feeling. For somebody who changes his mind all the time on what he wants to do, I actually stuck with it for quite a while, and managed to pull in some acting jobs. Then self-doubt crept up, I got anxious in classes, on sets, and now I keep telling myself that it's a shitty, superficial, self-chershing thing to do, and I keep changing my mind on what I want to do, yet keep returning back to acting. Any time an acting job comes my way, without me seeking it out, i'm all about the acting, and then I drop it again like a bad habit. Yet, even when i'm into it I can't make my way through an acting book, I can't get the work done, or be proactive looking for opportunities, yet I can read a personal-development book very easily, which tells me I don't want it. I can go cold on acting for months and then I start dreaming about big actors. I'm trying to convince myself that I shouldn't do it because it's chasing money and fame but it might be deeper than that. I dunno :/. Please help! Thanks.
