Don't try it because I said so, try it because of the science. https://bebrainfit.com/tapping-anxiety-benefits/ -

@jse Brain Games is one of my favorite shows, yet I keep neglecting to watch it. I'll change that soon! -

@Annetta Yeah, shots of awe amazes me. There is a treasure trove of videos on that channel that have been building up over the last several years. Most of them are very very good! Another recent one. Beautiful. -

Just a heads up , there was a documentary about this where the film maker was a trusting participant in following Hira Ratan Manek's (HRM a famous sun gazer) method. Which builds up to like 30 minutes of sun gazing. He ended up getting eye damage. And HRM was caught being a chronic liar. I don't mean to throw the baby out with the bath water. There may be great benefit yet, but tread relatively carefully. And watch out for HRM. -
Just watched this series over the last week and a half or so. Very profound. Well worth my time. I'm posting this here to give people a chance to check it out. Just watched this whole series over the last week. I feel like I got a lot out of it. This is in sequence. Just posting this here to give people a chance to check it out. @Danielle I had to build up to it at first but I am sort of on a roll now. I listen while doing chores or exercising to maximize time.

I've been listening to the classic star wars sound track since watching Leo's recent Hero video. It is a great sound track to the hero's journey. I know it is goofy, but I love it. Try it.

I was thinking to myself the other day that it seems like people that get triggered are doing a lot of projection. Even if the thing someone says is distasteful, the fear, hurt, anger that arises within you is under your jurisdiction. It is not very wise to go around trying to change the world to try to ease your emotions. That negates self reflection and self responsibility.

@LRyan This may not seem like it applies, but I think it does. Listen carefully to what is said.

@Loreena This was developed by a professor in Kansas. There is a book based on it called "the depression cure". 1. For omega 3's take fish oil. At or a little above the recommended dose. Use labdoor.com to determine a quality supplement. 2. For stop dwelling on negative thoughts, try not to let your mind just wander. Do an activity, concentrate, exercise, socialize, read whatever. Just be careful about letting your mind just ruminate. 3. Get exercise. Get heart rate lifting cardio every day. it can be anything. just make it to where you are pushing your self. More is not better here. 20- 30 minutes is enough 4. get sunlight. For this you want sunlight hitting your eyes for 15 minutes to an hour every morning. You can do this by going outside or by getting a 10,000 lux therapeutic grade light box. 5. For socially interact with others, just try not to be too lonely. It doesn't have to be over the top just make sure you have some contact with people. 6. For get plenty of sleep this one is obvious, (Though not always easy!) If you start to implement this, you may not notice the benefits right away, but they really start to show up about a week or two in. I started the habit of using a light box about two weeks ago and by about a week in i've been noticing a big dumb grin on my face throughout the day. It just comes over me. and blood pumping cardio is the same way. It is hard to get started and to maintain, but it does something to my brain, that brings a happiness that just doesn't come without it. Not to say that the inner work is not important, because it is extremely important. But so is physiology and diet, hence Leo's recent smoothie video. Heck many of the ingredients in Leo's smoothie are extremely depression busting blueberries https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/04/160405175653.htm Green tea http://worldteanews.com/news/new-study-shows-effects-green-tea-despression cocoa http://universityhealthnews.com/daily/stress-anxiety/cocoa-benefits-mood-anxiety-and-contentment-improve-in-just-30-days/

Feel free to contribute any ideas you have for activities that one might end up doing that would improve one's concentration. My example is practicing guitar. When I practice guitar in a certain way with a metronome and set rhythms, I feel like my concentration is significantly better afterwards and gets better with time. During the practice session I am intently focused on being as in sync with the metronome as I possibly can be. Quality of timing over quantity. It is possible to play guitar in a noodley sort of way. It may even be precise and technical, but it doesn't necessarily improve ones concentration. But I feel like this method does, and I notice it for a time after the session.

I was watching this video today and in it Lincoln mentions that God is playing a game of hide and seek with itself. That reminded me of the quote you posted. Another thing that came to my mind was "The Work" Also throw in -
The real answer is that there is no path except the path you make. Sooner or later you will realize that you are in the drivers seat and nothing happens unless you decide it or make it happen. I also believe that there is an intuition and guidance within us and it comes up when you are able to quiet your mind. Hence the importance of consistent meditation practice. There may of been a sign in the breaking of the statue, or there may have been no sign at all. it is possible that it is either. It only matters if you learned something positive from it.

@LRyan The big secret of EMDR is that you can extremely easily do it on your self. There are writings on line and in some EMDR books that caution against using it on your self. It has a way of getting you in touch with your emotions. The last thing I want is for you to cause yourself more suffering and distress. You know yourself, and you can have your therapist on call in case you go to a bad place if you want. It is also beneficial that you have had plenty of therapy (I assume). You can also use the knowledge you have learned from Leo's video to aid you. If you went to a trained EMDR therapist you would laugh at how simple it actually is. And yet it is legit. It is studied. You hear "miracle" story after "miracle" story if you listen to the therapists and patients that use it. There is a weird dynamic in the politics of EMDR. Drug companies don't want to t This is all you need. Sessions usually last about an hour. You will want to do the first three steps rather quickly. Try to focus and get clear about it. Then spend the rest of the session focusing on the positive cognition and doing the eye movement. Repeat the positive cognition almost like and affirmation again and again. Just try to relax while doing it. It is not meant to be stressful. Get creative and combine it with what ever methods and techniques work for you. That is literally all it is. It helps to sit a proper distance from your tv as well http://www.engineeringcalculator.net/home-theater-calculator.html

Just had a ridiculous breakthrough experience with the sedona method. The method finally clicked in my head and I was able to apply it successfully. It is almost as if my ego was playing little tricks to try to get me to not use it successfully. Allow yourself to feel whatever you are feeling in this moment. Ask yourself each question and answer it honestly. Even if you answer "hell no, not in a million years" that is correct. Repeat as many times as you desire. Don't make yourself answer it any one way. Just be honest with yourself.

@Outer In reviewing The Work I am noticing that it is a little too complicated for my tastes at the moment. I adore the simplicity of the sedona method. Have you personally benefited from either of these techniques?
