Whats is the basis for saying there is no free will?
-
Leo...there are people in the world who NEVER curse. Believe it or not. Not just a few, but many!!!!

I'm serious. If you do some research you'll see that Kabbalah is a study meant for people in the jewish nation and people like madona and brittney just wanted to do it because their lives were empty with money and drugs. Anyone can technically learn kaballah if they want through some scam type online course but they are for sure not getting the full whole real picture of things. It would be like trying to learn advanced calculus from a text book or online video without anyone their to explain it to you or without any prior knowledge of algebra. But hey whatever floats your boat. And thanks you I didnt know what trolling was until I just looked it up.

Kabbalah is for the jews!

Circumstances and past experiences just set-up what type of decision we will make or what two things we will choose between. But the actually choosing is up to you my friend Hmm.... will he choose to answer? -

My claim is that Free will exists just as much as my nose exists. If your going with the train of thought that your nose doesn't exist (because obviously it doesn't exist...nothing exists) then your right free will doesn't exist. But in as much as one would claim that his nose exists...then free will exists. Just like to some extent and SOMEHOW there IS this ILLUSION of DUALITY which APPEARS to us as REAL (like our nose), so too FREE WILL. -
Isn't it weird that our true essence (That which "we" cannot perceive with our minds...whatever Leo described in last nights video) is hidden from us. This is obviously true that it IS hidden from us. Meaning all enlightenment work is trying to peel away the layers of this "self" that we've imagined our whole life. And realize we are infinite. Or maybe more precisely "Be" infinite. Isn't it strange that our true essence (the infinite) is hidden from us and we have to work on "being". I'm not necessarily asking "why" is it hidden, because if I ask that type of question on this forum most people will just flip out and say " thou shoult not use the word 'why' "..."why is a construct of the mind that you made up" etc. etc. Im just pointing out that if our true essence exists and its really the ONLY thing that exists and its something that our brains cant fathom...it's weird that it is hidden from us and we have to work to BE, and push away the layers of stories that were pushed into our brains our whole lives. There has got to be more to this that what Leo is saying. The very fact that the things we see with our eyes are basically Hiding the infinity that we ARE is just weird.

@Sarah_Flagg dont listen to AYLA...she is poison...no offense. Someone like that shouldn't be giving life advice to someone trying to raise her son. Someone like that should be living in the clouds where here brain currently is. Theres nothing wrong with that but she should just stay there in the clouds. Use your brain when making decisions. Decide what your goal in life is. When I'm 100 years old and about to die, what would be a considered a successful life in my eyes. What do I wish for my son. etc etc Write out a page long paper describing your life goal (see 7 habbits of highly effective people) Then think of your current decision at hand. "Will doing xyz bring me closer to my goal in life or further away". If your goal isn't clear so work on that. Imagine your life as a business you are starting. Every business needs a goal and the owner/manager needs to make decisions that he thinks will bring the business closer to the goal...and he needs to review the goal often and make sure that its at the forefront of his mind when making daily decisions. Hope this helps. And again DONT LISTEN TO AYLA...she is nothing but poison. (no offense)

what does that even mean? -
Leo spoke about how objective good and evil don't exist (in the class called Good and Evil). Really any concepts don't really exist...its all just fabrications of our monkey minds. He said that its really all just preference. We have a preferences towards certain actions. For example Murder isnt BAD or evil. Theres no such thing. Rather murder is most people preference not to do it. I'm wondering, even though there might not be any action that is objectively BAD or EVIL. Maybe we can suggest that there are certain actions that everyone would agree that bring someone away from the path to enlightenment. I guess the obvious first one is Cold blood Murder (not self defense). If someone wanted to be on the path to enlightenment, he should for sure have the preference not to murder. If he murders, he will for sure not be fitting to be enlightened. Maybe stealing is another one... Meaning Im wondering are there things/actions that for sure (I guess objectively) remove a person from being enlightened? If so, can't we call those things EVIL. Meaning the definition of evil would be any action which would prevent one from achieving enlightenment. Now I know people are thinking that everyone is different and people have different preferences. Im just wondering if there are universal preferences for people on the enlightenment path that everyone would agree with Possible suggestions: Murder, Rape, Stealing, maybe saying bad things about enlightenment (like screw enlightenment...enlightenment sucks!) Maybe cheating on one's spouse (in a marriage where it was agreed not to cheat) or for that matter, sex with your mom or something gross like that or sex with a dog or horse etc. just examples or sex with your daughter or son etc etc Torturing animals maybe living in a country with a court system (can you imagine trying to become enlightened in an environment with no police or judges or courts?) Or trying to make a court/police/judge system in the country where you live if you don't already have them. What are peoples thoughts. Again I'm looking for things that are universal. If ONE person says "well I think cold blood murder will help me towards the path to enlightenment" then we have to take it off the list. The goal of this thread is to come up with that list. Again in as much as enlightenment is a preference for someone to want to make a goal and focus in there life. Then what would be the universal things which such a person would prefer not to do in order to succeed on his path?

Does everyone agree with drelamore? I dont think drelamore read my post carefully. -
After thinking about the whole enlightenment thing for a while I've come to the conclusion that it's not for me. It seems interesting. I just don't see the point. I'm a great person. I'm not experiencing suffering. I'm developing. I'm working on my career. I dont see the point of getting in touch with the nothingness. If nothing has meaning and The real me doesn't exist and I'm fooling my self right now with my thoughts thinking that I'm who I am so I think I just want to live with fooling myself. Meaning as long as I know in the back of my mind that its not true so I might as well enjoy life and forget about trying to "experience" the "no-self". If life is meaningless and empty so why not just ride this horse of a body till I die at a hopefully very old age? For get about meditating and forget about trying to realize I don't exist..I'de rather live with the illusion of self at least for while Im here. It seems dumb to try to connect with the fact that I dont exist...seems like Im loosing valuable illusion time. If its true that when I die I will be that same nothingness that I am now without the illusion of the body...I might as well live out this illusion to the fullest and then be this nothingness when I die. Why should I try to be enlightened now? For the feeling...well it cant be for the feeling because its not a feeling according to what people are saying...its just plain conscientiousness...not my conscientiousness..just conscientiousness...but whats the point in that...Leo will say..."point? points are made up and don't exist...your ego is trying find a point" or something like that. I think I'de rather be a chimp. The illusion seems better than enlightenment. The enlightenment seems like darkness. Sound like a plan? Who's with me?
