Leo, thank you so much for the response!! Creativity is my deepest passion!

I would find it fascinating if Leo could observe the qualities of unsuccessful people and answer the question "what distinguishes unsuccessful people from successful people?'

In my view, it's perfectly fine to be both introverted and extroverted! I dislike obligatory socializing but I vastly prefer to arrange small meetups or join meetup communities. Around people I'm NOT interested in socializing with, I act aloof and distant because I don't want to fake politeness and pretend to be interested in a person. When I meet a person who shares strong mutual interests, I get so excitable and passionate that I meet a new best friend and it feels amazing. I become very attached and fascinated by that person! I'm fascinated by the social misfit who sits alone at lunch but who is unbelievably creative. I love socializing with artists ESPECIALLY writers and theater students! When socializing, I don't care at all about small talk or popularity or fads. I'm deeply interested in people's personalities and their passions and their personal stories. My socializing strategy is to be selectively social where I have freedom to choose my own friends. One of my major pet peeves is small talk that goes nowhere, finding no spark or common ground, or being pressured to socialize with family members I don't enjoy socializing with.

Discovering new passions is such an inspiring and fascinating topic for me to study! I love discovering new passions and learning how to apply these passions in my life. My top two crucial values are freedom and creativity and I deeply value the arts ESPECIALLY creative writing, theater, music, and film because I see the arts as embodying the values of freedom and creativity. My top passion is creative writing and learning how to master the art of storytelling by learning about the creative process, studying writers' techniques, learning about storytelling ESPECIALLY character development, character and story archetypes, telling a compelling and unique stories and how cliches can work amazingly when used constructively or fail when there is nothing unique done with a cliche. One question I ask myself is "is this idea rich with potential?" A great idea of a story rich with infinite potential is "Alice in Wonderland" because you can do whatever you want with those characters. Epics have infinite potential because in those stories, there are infinite possibilities for world building, character development, and stories. As "Star Wars" has proven, you can create a compelling mythology heavily influenced by comparative mythology, world history, philosophy, Taoism and Enlightenment, science fiction serials, and so many other influences. What are your deepest passions?

electro-beam and 7thLetter, i'm glad that both of you are having this discussion. I agree with both of your positions on academics and self-actualization. The insight I gained from this conversation is that there are so many ways to become self-actualized and to discover your passions.

Zane Chesivoir Age-22 Gender-Male Hobbies-Discovering new passions, creative writing, watching movies, going to the theater, listening to music, studying history, learning about life purpose, learning about folklore and mythology, learning about alternative lifestyles and nonconformity, learning about religion. Occupation-currently a college student Marital Status-Single Kids-no I got into personal development ever since my childhood. I struggled with Aspergers Syndrome, i struggled academically, and I always struggled with identifying with people and making friends and socializing with women and motor skills, and thinking too literally. I spent years in group therapy to learn how to socialize, occupational therapy to improve my motor skills, speech therapy to learn how to understand jokes and not be as literal a thinker. I had personal therapy! I had heavy math tutoring. My peak experiences consist of listening to and reading stories, watching movies, watching theater and listening to music because these moments have been glowing moments of inspiration. I've always had a deep passion for creativity and I express my creativity through creative writing. Challenges I've Overcome 1. Transitioning to Special Education classes to mainstream classes to Honors, AP classes, and International Baccalaureate classes 2. I overcome a bad semester in college and I'm doing well in my classes so far 3. Overcoming my struggle with social skills Accomplishments 1. I wrote a large quantity of creative writing 2. It's excellent that you're committing yourself to writing 1000 words per day! I'm currently working on a creative writing portfolio and the excellent news is that I'm seeing major progress with my creative writing. My goal is to write five pages every day and to be persistent every day with my writing! I took many creative writing classes and I also use books on creativity as a resource for myself. I want to focus heavily on developing characters particularly villains, anti-heroes and anti-villains, experimenting with alternative storytelling, adopting new creative mindsets, using cliches to my advantage, re-telling stories from a new angle and mastering literary theory and applying it to my storytelling.

I recommend using the Great Courses and the A Very Short Introduction series to familiarize yourself with philosophy.

It's perfectly normal to begin feeling lost and uncertain! I recommend spending some time journaling on your deepest passions and your vision for your future and ask yourself "how can I create my own life?" I recommend watching Leo's videos and using other personal development resources or talk to people who are living a passionate lifestyle. You're starting out and you have plenty of time left and you have infinite potential within you. How can I help you with discovering your passion?

I own the entire series! As a creative writer, I used the first book to break out of my creative slump. Fortunately, I am working on a large creative writing portfolio and I've been writing five pages per day and I've been persistent since Summer 2015 and it's 2016, and I'm making huge progress on my portfolio.

How will you discover your life purpose? I feel like I've been experimenting with a variety of life purposes since childhood. What makes you the happiest? What are your deepest passions? What is something that gets you fascinated that you can't stop talking about it?

A good life is highly subjective! I see a good life as having a deep sense of fulfillment and happiness like observing a beautiful sunset over the ocean and being in awe of it. It's drinking a hot cup of coffee and savoring the aroma and feeling deeply relaxed. A good life is being completely free and being completely absorbed in a flow state.

From my experience, I was socially awkward for years and I struggled with communication, making new friends, socializing with my peers, and especially talking to girls. I improved my social skills through therapy groups with peers for several years and I learned how to be much more selective with my friends. I love making friends who are artists particularly creative writers, and theater students because I can strongly identify with them. I love talking to the theater lovers, film lovers and music lovers who have a deep passion. I try to avoid shallow "friendships" about gossip, popularity and blind conformity. As a creative writer, I'm heavily involved in my college's creative writing club and I love socializing with other writers. I have deep passions and I love discovering people who share my passions. For girls, I learned how to be as genuine as possible and to connect through common ground. I realized that I would much rather have a small but intimate social circle than be part of a toxic clique. I try to befriend the social misfits who are seen as odd but they are highly creative.

My favorite TV show with a heavy self-actualization theme is "Breaking Bad." "Breaking Bad" is entirely focused on Walter's huge paradigm shift from chemistry teacher to ruthless drug kingpin and his transformation is deeply fascinating.
