  1. @avk123 Its quite rare for someone to meditate properly and efficiently on their first, second or maybe even 50th attempt. It requires quite some practice to get in the deep-ish meditative states. Do not mistake what you just had for the only "first hand experience" there might be more. Dive deeper mate, do it again, question the techniques, try another one, walk the road. U have just made your first step on it, don't deny the existence of the road. Peace.
  2. @STC Yeh, I realized this could not be done by talking, intellectually, logically, using awareness or anything alike. His structure is just too undeveloped. He started "artistic" type of school half a year ago, its probably the most ethnically mixed school in this country. That's how this urge of mine came at the first place. I didn't want him walking around and talking crap, getting beat up, or even worse, stabbed. He seems do to fine for now.... My other thought was - If he is exposed to ethnically diverse environment, and in this case quite artistic and not so "problematic" , he will have no option but to communicate, and slowly let his beliefs go unconsciously. "Martial arts places might be a good Idea too" though here almost all of the clubs are not so ethnically mixed. There are some 5/10% minorities at most. I used to train Jeet Kune Do and MMA, we were taught to see everyone as our equals and respect them. The thing might work on the long run. @Christian Yes my friend, I am nor trying to change his beliefs, nor I openly challenge them. I guess that's basically because I am not seeing them as wrong, they are just as they are and that is ok. I am very careful how I present these "things". As you said the last thing I want is to give him the impression that I am attacking him. Barely just trying to push him forward. Some people stay this way for decades, some even die with this mindset. I don't think it is a good idea to just let it be as it is and see what happens. That's where this urge comes from. And yes I am quite an influence for him(in some areas), he is seeking me constantly for advice and reviews. Had some good influence on nutrition, fitness, music, pick up an instrument so far. @Emerald Wilkins I first thought that he has a great "orange" spark, he seems to think that he is highly rational, scientific, a great individual. Yet, its funny how It all was done on a very absolutistic level. I failed to see it at first, that is why I tried to get him into personal development. Looks like it is a good sign that our views cross on all the points. Get him involved with other healthy blue people, hm, never thought of that, seems quite obvious. That's how Don Beck method. On one hand it can be fruitful, on the other, absolutists tend to crusade each-other out ...which includes building fortresses, it can reinforce. Still ...it tastes promising. Thank you for your time wonderful people. \m/
  3. Hello there folks. I am here to seek your guidance, maybe your opinions, experiences and knowledge can shed some light on this. From my observance I think that, someone very near to me is stuck in a quite bad version of the "blue stage" mindset. And to give you a glimpse into his mind: He declares himself as a Nationalist and openly supports Hitler, denies the Holocaust, claims its all conspiracy. Academic science is brainwashing everyone. There is a plan for ethnic genocide in Europe, trough emigration....ect,ect.... All these beliefs, he considers to be facts. Its like he has built a fortress in his mind, expands it everyday, and shoots anyone that gets near it. In case he gets in an argument with someone he plays "the devils advocate" and is not willing to evaluate his so called "facts". He puts a lot of value on nation, ethnicity, race, culture. And has preservationist types of opinions on these matters. Self sacrificial also ... A great victim of conformation bias and causation fallacy loop. I am not shocked by all of this. I have done a lot of personal development work in the last 2/3 years, so I understand this is a normal phase of the human psyche development. I have been there, just luckily in a more healthy and non-threatening version. And after all he is just a 19yr old confused teen. Don Beck explains that stages are overcame by "emergence", and for someone to evolve into the new stage (in this case orange), he has to be open-minded about new possibilities, have a healthy version of the current state... ect ect... a list of dozen conditions (By observing myself and my development i found them to be quite legit). All the things that he does not currently posses. I do not see how he can emerge. Work himself out, he seems stuck in his fortress. So far I have shown him Leos "Get yo ass inspired" video, he watched it. But all he could see was information, true or false. Not the vision. I have also suggested and shown him the power of reading books. He bought into it a little bit. I gave him "Think: Why You Should Question Everything: Guy P. Harrison" its an easy to read book, good to teach proper skepticism, a way to get into evaluating your thoughts. He didn't touch it, instead went researching for books that would just prove his Hitler, race, ethnic-ism ideas. I thought .... this might backfire badly. So... here I am. Thank you for your time. I deeply appreciate it.
  4. Gone, gone is the life in your eyes Follow and feel my soul to shine Let me show you, take my hand For one last final trance Let you fall You dream in a reverse time You can alter the stream of all light For above any form of attraction And beyond every motion Lies yourself Inspired me in the realm of Personal Development/Enlightenment/Consciousness. I took it on a different levels at different times: the power you have to influence yourself, act and have effect, and on another level how you are integrated into existence and are one with it. The band sings about themes like Stillnes, OBEs, Astral Projection ect ... so i don't think its a coincidence I found that meaning in the lyrics. The music is quite energetic also.
  5. @Mirko Lets say that the reason you close your eyes, relax your body, ect is to shut your senses down, therefore limiting the sensory input into your mind. Why not shut your ears down or wash them with something non-distracting. Plug them, play some bi-neural beats, even loud ones if that is what it takes. I have meditated perfectly using these few simple tricks while people were raving in the room behind the wall on my back. There is no need of wasting willpower or forcing some ''great realizations'' at this point. If that does not help, as the ''bass'' trick you tried did not. Why not consider changing your meditation location. At one point in my life, things were so dense around me, a lot of noise, 5 people in my room all the time, student stuff. So to keep up with my meditation goals, I decided to go and walk 20 mins every night, to a lonely bench by the nearby coast and meditate there. Worked out pretty well. And to add. It was Copenhagen's coast. In the middle of the winter. Hope you will find any of these tips assistive mate. Peace.
  6. Note that green ideas can inhibit the minds of blue/purple people. Be careful not to mistaken a green idea for green thinking. I have seen quite a few of these examples. In fact I have been one myself in my late teens.
  7. Finally, my first topic. I'll try to make it as short as i can. I've done some serious personal development work in the last 2 years. Lets say that I understand quite a lot of its principles. All the personal development books I encountered, all the videos I watched, and all the other material I went trough points out that your goal should be: advancing in your field, be aligned with yourself, deliver value, bla bla ect, you know the stuff...... and as you do it, money will become a byproduct of all those actions. Meaning that you should not focus on getting money. Money is the byproduct. When I think deeply about it, I get it, on a logical level at least, it feels right, it connects to all the other things, I do not have any resistance against the idea. But in the medium/survival mode financial position I am in (having money only for my rent, bills, for proper food, gym membership and few other basic things), getting the xxxx amount of money can easily get on my mission statement, goal list and become a part of my life strategy. Its quite confusing and conflicting. I can't find a good way to set my psychology on the right place. These 2 ideas are constantly battling inside my head. Right now I am just betting that all the things all those people have said are true, when you connect the dots it makes a lot of sense. I am ''deep-working'' and rapidly advancing in my field. Making plans and strategy how to delver valuable and high impact work. and I am a 3D and Vfx artist btw. Does anyone else have these thoughts, if so, did anyone overcame them? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
  8. This guy is eighter trying to sell something, or is yet another victum of conformation bias. Why all that cherry picking mate ? Be carefull when going through his "arguments".
  9. Nothing is true, everything is permitted.
  10. @Pelin That's the story of my life I'm currently playing in 2 bands, wrote poetry in the past, did archaeology work (that's my master and bachelor) loved them, enjoyed them, opened new worlds and horizon with them and don't get me wrong, I am still doing most of that stuff, and I love it! But financially, I earned almost nothing. Being ''financially free'' as a goal sounds like a good, it already is. Maybe I just need to mark the money part, and press delete. @David1 Exactly! You see what bugs me. Goal=X, tool=money, to achieve goal X use tool, insufficient tool, acquire more tool to proceed. new goal set, acquire more tool. That's the bug. Its funny how I read all of this stuff you guys write and agree with most of it, but still can not get around it in practice. I am currently working on a ''freelancer portfolio'', so I can add a second income source. That would boost up few things for a start. @Tancrede Pouyat There is a minor truth, but I don't think I am reacting. I worked hard, and still am, maybe I am just a little impatient, so it forces me rethink my goals. Payoffs did come, good ones. But its not something big enough that would make life progress towards some of the other goals. Goal=X, tool=money, to achieve goal X use tool, insufficient tool, acquire more tool to proceed. new goal set, acquire more tool What do you think about it ? Thanks for reading my crap. I appreciate the time you have invested !
  11. Emotionally and mentally I am very stable and aware person, I have done a lot of personal development work and I rarely have any problems regarding these areas. But when I hear a song that reminds me of something, when I walk on a street I used to walk years ago, taste something ....ect. A general feeling of nostalgia floods me, its not about the people, its not about good or bad times in that period of the past, it just about the past. It something that passed, and for some reason I miss it, thus I feel voidy inside. In those same moments I always become aware of the feeling. I get that is just some construct connected to the petty, human-centric ego. Somehow making a story about my life, and generating feelings accordingly. I observe the feeling without getting involved with the thought processes it comes up with. I just observe ..... Sometimes I do even initiate this feeling, by playing a song, seeing a picture. And then watch. I still cant get to the root of it. I wonder, why are you here ..? Why do you exist and where do you come from. Why is it there ? Thoughts ?
  12. That is what i thought in the first place, that maybe I am just not accepting something, maybe I have some shit that i can not see berried within me ... so far, I can not see anything. I get the sensation, other past sensations start to link up, they form a net, and that feeling shows up as they form. After some time mind links up to something totally unrelated, forms a different net, feelings go away. Accepting it or not, it is there when the right conditions are available. It dies with the ego ofc,but can it die while the ego lives ? Need to read more of Jung's work it seems.
  13. @philosogi Yes I am considering seeking those goals alongside my career. I would use money as a tool for of sustainment and a lifestyle choice to some degree. @J. M. Wigglesworth Yes Ofc I know what that is. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in the previous post. The thing that f**** me is the paradox of: *''Focus on the money and you wont get them'' *''Focus on value, carrier, world contribution....ect, ect.... and than you get the money as a byproduct of those investments/actions.'' Meaning, obviously, that you should not focus on the money to get them, its a trap. http://minimumwagehistorian.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/jutland-trap.jpg I think even Leo elaborated this in few accounts. Not that I am broke and drowning at the low end of the pyramid, but honestly half of my ''Maslow security section'' is a fairly fermented Swiss cheese. Thus this paradox is forced on me But still .... money can be quite a ...motivation, not sure if a goal, but a motivation...yes. You got a point. @Pelin I have the same approach for all my goals, that is how having ''a lot of money'' came on the list in the first place. I am also constantly rethinking and adapting my moves. Self analyzing, looking within. For now, knowing the reasons, as you said ... keeps me motivated and on the path. But the goals still feel... funky. Its like - ''Ok, I want this, its good for me, oh ok, it requires money. Can it be done without money, sometimes it can, but paid with a different price. Will you pay it. No you will not. So, get those money, put them on your mission statement, think and plan how to get them, work towards it, error.'' Thanks for your insights Mates.
  14. If you find a ''internet claim'' about something, always go to the primal source, check the referenced authors, linked studies ect. Don't just buy the stuff they say, just don't, always question them. Very often you will find that the writers of these articles are cherry picking stuff, and are trying to write a cool article that will be read by the masses. On what science ? On none. You can get your protein from meat and yes, you can get your protein from eggs and milk products, if you ask me, that's the best way to get it. Milk/egg/meat protein is very bio-efficient, and will get absorbed 90+ % of the total amount most of the times, it has awesome amino profile, and has a great macro profile, which makes it easy to integrate into a meal plan. Plant protein tends to have crappy biological value, crappy amino acid profile and it has terrible macro nutrient ratio which makes it hard to work with, if you want to make a meal plan. (Unless you are not eating hemp seeds)...I am not saying you should avoid it, its way cheaper anyway, but you'll get as much for that price. And if you are work working out, lifting, 1g per pound of bw is ideal. I would even go for 1.2g/1 pound of bw if you are cutting and are trying to lose weight. I'll say that you are on the right path for now Don't even trust me, go and check the stuff out. Read the books, find the people that really know this stuff.
  15. The max daily allowed amount of caffeine is 600 mg. There are about 100 mg in one metric cup of coffee, depending what kind of coffee ofc. So that would be like 6 metric cups . Note, some people are more tolerant to caffeine and some are not, so the amount can vary. I can drink tons of coffee every day, and barely feel the effects and some people easily go nuts over one espresso. Anyway, If you feel dizzy, crashed, sleepy and weak during the day, consider checking your food intake, to be more specific, your macro/micro nutrient intake. If you are eating junk food, not drinking enough liquids, ect .... that may very well be the problem.
  16. Yea, great time saver! I shop all the food I need on every Saturday, cook the stuff that needs to be cooked.Store it. And than I just pack my 5 daily meals in 10 mins every morning. I am not at home for about 12-15 hours every day, so to have 5 meals ready in 10/15 mins means a lot.
  17. To the day to day mortals, a ''healthy breakfast'' should be a meal that includes 40-60 grams of medium glycemic carbs. You will get stable energy rise and no insulin spike. Sources of med glycemic carbs can be : whole grain oath, bananas, apples, brown rice ect. Its best to go for foods that are around 70, on the GI index. That's one way, the lazy one. The other one is to have a balanced micro/macro nutrient meal that will contain good amount of carbs/protein and fats, and feed your body with energy, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fiber and all the other stuff your body needs. Just eat some eggs with whole wheat bread, to make it simpler And if you are working out and are not mortal and if you have a specific goal: to loose fat, lose water, gain muscle, maintain ..it is quite a different story. In that case you will have to eat strategically. And that is a long story that takes a lot of things into consideration.
  18. First time chakra specific meditation, did the muladhara meditation last night, pretty powerful .... Felt things....I have never felt before. I ll go on trough all of them this week.
  19. Watch Leo's videos about the Graves model and a spark might light up in your head.... I found quite a few meanings about this thing in them... Or you can just drink rakija until your death is permanent instead, for the glory of satan, ofc ...
  20. No probs @Caelis mate, good luck and don't take big bites at once
  21. I am looking for a whole food. I am rebuilding my workout nutrition meal plan and I have some space left, actually about 40g protein, 60g carbs and less than 5g of fats or no fats at all. Almost all of my protein comes from animal products, so I was thinking to mix it up a little, but couldn't find anything of plant origin that is easy to combine, most of the things I have found had either a lot of carbs or enormous amount of fats in them. Thought you guys might know something
  22. Not sure if it is troll topic or not ...
  23. If you reduce your caloric intake more than 25% of your maximum daily expenditure it will not take long before your metabolism breaks and slows down to nuts. I have personally experienced this and its not a good feeling, trust me. I was wasted for weeks. Try to track and manage your caloric intake if you intend to stay on a cutting diet. Don't damage yourself Peace.
  24. I guess here is the best place to ask this question .. I killed myself googling and looking at nutrition labels to find a plant based product that has good carb/protein balance, or more protein dense one preferable, but has very low fats compared to the cab protein amount, and couldn't find one. Does anyone knows if such a thing even exists. Thanks in advance ..
