  1. @BabyMonkey i don't know where you live but in countries where medical tests are paid from your taxes (most EU countries) it is a good idea to exhaust those first to save yourself money. What I would do is to start there and see what i could get without extra payment for functional tests and ideally I'd want to get a diagnosis or at least some stool tests, I'd also want to rule put things like coeliac disease. Medical tests are generally more accurate but can be harder to get because doctors have to prioritise. so yah speaking to gastroenterologist would be a good first step. If they fail you then GI Map is not bad but if you think it is SIBO you might go for methane hydrogen breath tests, the 3 hour one but do it in a clinic it is easy to mess it up at home. I'd just be cautious with doing massive antibac protols without knowing what you're up against first. Hope that helps Good luck
  2. I would question why is it you feel that this sort of lifestyle is necessary. This is how people end up with chronic fatigue and burn-out, by not allowing themselves to slow down. Make sure you are not being influenced by the hustle culture. The human body was never designed to be always on the go. We would always have periods of activity exchanged by longer periods of inactivity. Over tens of thousands of years out bodies have synced with the natural rhythm of the nature and the cycle of day/night. Sleep is not just marketing of bed and pillow making companies. You need those 5-6 cycles of REM and non-REM and I don't think you can get those final cycles with polyphasic sleep. These are the ones when BDNF is upregulated when your neurons are being repaired, memories stored, experiences processed and cells repaired. Granted you can pull that off for couple years and people do but what happens after 20 years of missing those crucial REM/non-REM waves? We have no idea, there is no long term data on the effects of polyphasic sleep. There are people who deliberately cut their sleep short to 5 hours. I've seen some of my American colleague boast over being able to pull of less sleep and they look aged, dry, lifeless and fatigued to the bone. Over decades these people end up on chemotherapy or in ER with a crushing heart attack by the time they are 50 Consider that people who work night shifts have higher rates of cancer and diabetes. This is not a coincidence.
  3. Hi welcome to the forum. Has gastroenterologist done any tests? Has something like IBD been considered? Also, the SIBO you mentioned was that diagnosed based on a breath test? See what tests you can get done medically before going down the functional road ad those are often not as accurate or specific.
  4. Tofu would be another obvious one with some 12-15% per 100g I really like red and yellow lentils. Once cooked they kinda dissolve in this mushy substance so you can just add them to any meal without taking too much space. Dry lentils are about 25% pure protein and you can lose 1/2 a cup easily in a food. Natto is 20% protein but granted there is only so much of it you can consume and it can be kinda hard to find, If you want a tasty vegan protein powder then Vivo Life however it may be more pricy and harder to obtain than typical whey but its a price for the quality I would personally stay away from things like seitan, processed vegan burgers (from shop) and all sorts of falafels filled with oils however if you can make plant based burgers yourself with food ingredients and control oil and salt, this can become very complete and tasty meal
  5. You're taking piss but man, this is how some teenagers earn tens of thousands of dollars these days :D! If he hired a big booty blonde with actualized.org tattooed across her but cheeks, you bet actualized.org will get to 2 mils in 4 months. #screwintegrity
  6. Savage and ruthless but very true. Oh how sweet the feeling of "I know everything" used to be after finishing my first nutrition book
  7. This is super individual and depends largely on your detoxification capacity and microbiome health. Naturally, those things would not be an issue but if megadosed (e.g. Erinaceum extract or L-theanine extract or large amounts of CBD) potential interaction on the site of different liver enzymes could be an issue (but may not). Certain substances even in "natural medicine" (for example CBD Oil & curcumin) get cleaved of by the same family of liver enzymes and so there is competitive detoxification. To what degree this is relevant, I have no idea. It is VERY relevant when people are on medication thou as this is how drugs can cause problems by not being eliminated from the system because something else is interfering with the meds detoxification pathway. If you are medication-free this should be less of a problem but keep an eye on any new symptoms of potential detoxification bottleneck (migraines, nervousness, nausea, vomiting, drop in blood pressure, suddenly becoming super sensitive to things and just getting sick from food) I assume short term you'll be fine but I'd suggest starting with one of those things and for every other day you feel fine, add one more thing. Probably wouldn't go guns blazing with all of them in one go But hey, it's your choice totally and most likely you'll be alright with them.
  8. Hell, you could even sign up to be in the test group for it although you'd probably need to move to Argentina. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33234158/ yeah, unfortunately, this seems like a very realistic scenario.
  9. Perhaps you need to be a little bit more selfish first to have the realisation of how hollow it really (like really feel that) feels and you will naturally migrate towards being more selfless. One thing I found is helpful is to spend more time helping others or just pursuing some sort of vision of"better XYZ" and ideally channelling it into a life purpose. But in the end we are all selfish because survival means being selfish, naturally there are degrees of that but ultimate and absolutely selflessness, there are only handful of human being s who have achieve that.
  10. Go do your research if you're unsure about vaccines. You are unlikely to get unbiased and highly researched opinions on online forums. Actually go out and listen to people who are in vaccine development area, immunologists, epidemiologists or read a few studies. Getting or not getting vaccines is an individual choice and everyone needs to go out there and find the answers themselves. This thread is one step away from becoming a conspiracy theory blog with nanotech chip implants and lizard overlords.
  11. If LPS (die off) is an issue some psyllium husk taken 3 times a day can help. But also eating more fibre rich foods (any you can tolerate alongside the carni diet) will help.
  12. Glutamine has been used with some success in people with anorexia nervosa and also I believe BCAAs. But maybe you're seeing food too much from a functional perspective (e.g. protein for muscle, carbs for energy, vitamins, minerals for this and that function etc) and that is making you seek out particular food choices over others. What I'm trying to say maybe you just need more variety in your food intake by adding other, more tasty foods. Sometimes just because something is healthy doesn't make it tasty. For example I fucking hate poke bowls. They are healthy but they taste like paper to me, devoid of taste, texture and smell. Cold functional food that just gives me chills. Now on the other hand a rich aromatic indian dish with 10 different spices and herbs, now we're talking. Or you know like some italian aromatic pasta with some deep cheese sauce and basil. Or some great Chinese meals. Or something like Hungarian gulasz. Now I might be jumping to assumptions here as I don;t know anything about you but could be you'd really benefit from buying some nice cookbook with how to make delicious and rich tasting meals that will just make you look forward to them. They don;t have to be super healhy, I assume your diet is fairly healthy already to balance out for that but it may be a way to get more variety, more taste, more pleasure and more calories. But maybe that's not an option. Dunno...you tell me
  13. Somebody's been doing some serious studies, good stuff
  14. You guys need to shut up and let the man share the next diary entry
  15. Hope you'll find the answers you're looking for ?
  16. I am sure DEXA scan is available in India. It is a fairly standard medical test used for people with bone issues. I think it would be worth your time getting this done to confirm. If your Z-score is fine, at least you know that it is something else Some blood work done by endocrinologists would reveal any potential deficiencies or excesses. I think it is best to test rather than guessing with Dr Google. Oestrogen dominance can be quite common in women but there are ways to deal with it, test should be the first otherwise it is easy to fall pretty to stage purple medicines and remedies. Get a test and once this is confirmed then you could decide the next steps. But at least you will have something clear on the paper. In women, your sex hormones are made in ovaries and so any deficiency or excess would be due to the hormonal loop between hypothalamus -pituitary-ovaries (HPO axis). Again, this can be tested. The hormones usually tested are called: GnRH, LH, FSH, Oestradiol, Testosterone, Dihydrotestosterone, Progesterone and sometimes they also test SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin). Maybe you can ask doctor via email if they would be willing to run your hormonal panel and DEXA for bone density? I would also add to that a test called Full Blood Count + Iron + Vitamin D. I think that would be a good start and would give you some base of what to do next. And if you get results and don't want to take any drugs you can always post it here and maybe we can help with some directions. Good luck!!
  17. Just curious, have you ever had any of your hormones tested? Adrenal fatigue is being thrown around a lot by naturopaths but I am becoming more and more sceptical of this being a real thing. It is possible to get your cortisol tested as well as your sex hormones. Best test for testosterone is serum (blood) and best test for cortisol is salivary - taken in several doses (usually up to 6 samples a day). Do you mean osteopenia (progressive bone loss)? Have you had a DEXA scan to confirm you are losing bone density? Are you dealing with it or treating it with anyway? If bone loss is confirmed, I would really suggest do your best to put stop to it. It is VERY hard to regain bone mass and if untreated puts you at severe risk of kidney stones and osteoporosis not to mention heart problems. Not meaning to be a fearmonger but bone loss is not something I'd ignore. But I may be jumping to conclusion here so apologies if that's the case. Sorry for invasive comments and please feel free to ignore me but if any of these are the case, there are treatments (medical or non-medical) and ideally it is best caught while you are young, the older we get generally, the more difficult it is to deal with our health problems
  18. Damn man, I loved the second entry! That was s a lot of detail for those of us blessed with vivid imagination Happy for you to have found this beauty. But why not try to push it forward if it were to evolve into such? Being in love does not necessarily destroy these experiences, if anything it intensifies them. And with that level of intense passion it would be surprising if you or her feelings don't start to mount up. Anyways, thanks for sharing, this was a pretty hot reading during my boring meeting at work
  19. I don't agree with this. If your life purpose is built around making life better for others, contributing, sharing love and helping, you won't look back this way. If I die knowing I've helped 5,000 people live a better life, I would die at peace and satisfied. As long as your life purpose is not build around making more money. One does not need to become enlightened to be able to die at peace. I agree with the other point if you die having surrounded yourself with money, possessions, careers and just more "stuff" you will die a hollow man
  20. Of course they're not painting the true picture. You, the consumer/listener/reader are a product not a customer and they are trying to sell you to people who pay for the adds, just like they do on social media. That's the point of mainstream media in large. Either that or you pay for their subscription services after which you are partially exempt from that (e.g. youtube premium). The aim is not true, the aim is to make money so they monitor you to see what you like and you'll see more of that. Simple and effective business model. It is impossible to remain informed about everything, not even your country. Hell not even region with so much shit going on. They'll indeed show you a fraction but position it in a way to make it feel like the whole world is going to hell...-caugh - covid - caugh- Couple years ago, during research for one of my school assignments, I went into ER room, sat in the corner and observed for 4 hours. I was pretending to wait for somebody so was not questioned. I wanted to get sense of what it feels like to be in these places. I have never seen so much suffering, blood, fear, pain and stress in my life. This was a more profound experience than any study I could have read. Hard real life experience of seeing paramedics and ER doctors upo their sleeves in blood. Sometimes direct experience speaks more powerful than thousand articles.
  21. Survival & reproduction, everything else is just a mask for society. If you are trying to suppress 2 million ears of evolution you're gonna have a bad time
  22. yeah, I do find it funny sometimes hearing people bash on vaccines while continuing to munch on processed meats, alcohol, recreational drugs and comfort food. But I guess this goes hand in hand in hand with the western "don't worry about it" type of treatment. We got drugs to keep you healthy so you can enjoy your bacon double cheeseburger with a diet coke
  23. @Preety_India cool beans ? Don't forget the body always knows what it is doing. Ride the wave and let go of control, savour the feeling of being alive.
