  1. @Roxane agree and those are all very valid points. For me those were reasons why I gave up all animal food. What I found out is simply that most people just don't give a f**k about any of that. We simply prefer not to think about it. And secondly many don't know or don't wish to know. Believe it or not but majority of the planet perceive meat as necessary and absolutely beneficial meal to human health. You cannot change anyone besides yourself. Follow your agenda and be an example to others. And if nobody is willing to follow, that's ok. People are wired differently.
  2. @Roxane Enlightened people have usually reduced their carnal cravings to minimum. They do not stuff their fat bellies with fat, sugar and salt. These people eat to live not the other way around. This is not what an average westerner does. They live a peaceful, stress free life. They do not cover up their psychological issues with food. What do most of us do when we feel distressed? Eat eat eat.... 24 hours a day, nonstop. These people make love to the world, contribute greatly and do not cause themselves pain with things such as judgement , hatred or envy. When you have your whole life together, an occasional animal meal will not do you any harm, it is our overconsumption that causes problems. That and lack of exercise, purpose, polluted water and environments, stress at work, stress at home, overthinking and all sorts of egotistic behaviours. If you look at Dalai Lama, it is pretty obvious that he only eats little food per day. I can't really imagine him stuffing himself like a pig.
  3. Love is not romantic Scot Peck distinguishes between true love, as defined above, and "falling in love". Our tendency to confuse the two, says Peck, is one of the most powerful and pervasive misconceptions about love. Peck asserts that falling in love is specifically a "sex-linked erotic experience": "We do not fall in love with our children even though we may love them very deeply. We do not fall in love with our friends of the same sex even though we may care for them greatly. We fall in love only when we are consciously or unconsciously sexually motivated." In contrast to real love, falling in love is not a conscious choice ("try as we might, we may not be able to fall in love with a person whom we deeply respect and with whom a deep relationship would be in all ways desirable"), does not require effort and is not about personal growth. It is simply the collapse of part of our personal boundaries and the temporary merging of our identity with that of another. In Peck's view, falling in love is nothing more than a biological mechanism to increase the probability of mating, or to put it another way, "falling in love is a trick that our genes pull on our otherwise perceptive mind to hoodwink or trap us into marriage". The "myth of romantic love" propagated by our culture, the idea that there is one true love out there for each of us, makes this misconception worse. The ecstatic feelings of falling in love always pass, says Peck, but the myth suggests that if we can only find the right person, "the one", they would last forever. This myth is a lie, and one with damaging consequences: "Should it come to pass that we do not satisfy or meet all of each other's needs and friction arises and we fall out of love, then it is clear that a dreadful mistake was made, we misread the stars, we did not hook up with our one and only perfect match, what we thought was love was not real or "true" love, and nothing can be done about the situation except to live unhappily ever after or get divorced... As a psychiatrist I weep in my heart almost daily for the ghastly confusion and suffering that this myth fosters. Millions of people waste vast amounts of energy desperately and futilely attempting to make the reality of their lives conform to the unreality of the myth." Source: Scott Peck - Road Less Travelled
  4. Have a look at the linked video. What this tells me is that Chester's inability to accept the present moment drove him to willingly take his life. I assume that nobody really mentioned high consciousness practice to him and most shrinks prescribed him mind numbing meds instead . What are your thoughts guys?
  5. It appears that how you a nice example of Co-dependent relationship going on there. You feel like you cannot live without each other because your breakup lasted so little but you suffer when living together. A mature growth in both of you is required to sustain this however terminating the relationship might be a viable idea considering what you say about him. You can only work on yourself, you cannot change other people unless you set an example. Here are few advice for you that could potentially help: Most of those come from Stephen Covey's 7 habits. 1. Don't look for a quick fix. The problems you are having are results of years of mindset building, cultural influence and background, one does not change that in a week. Be prepared for some serious growth or be prepared to suffer until the end of your life,. 2. Realise that whatever happens is your responsibility. Be it what you do and be it how you react to his behaviour. If you don't like his behaviour, leave him and never look back. Never be a victim, always be a proactive person. You know you can achieve everything you want if you put your mind and time into it. 3. Become comfortable with being single before getting into a relationship. Seek out at least 30 minutes of solitude throughout the day, meditate, think, observe nature, whatever feels natural. 4. Work on building your "Emotional Bank Account". This pretty much works same way as usual Bank account. You spend too much, you end up with overdraw. Emotional Account works as mutual trust and takes years to buildup only to be ruined by a single wrongdoing. If you want to make peace with your partner, start donating small gestures of good will to build up trust and more area for communication. From what I read your mutual Emotional Account is below 0. You have no trust for each other and both are extremely defensive and egotistic. 5. Become a really good listener and seek to understand. Here I don't mean hearing. I mean listening emphatically with the intention to understand. Notice how when he speaks you are probably getting angry already, preparing your response. Instead, slow down and stop thinking , just listen to what he says. Listen to his voice but also to his body language. There is a message hidden in there but you probably fail to see it. Really genuinely try to understand him, understand where he is coming from. We all have certain mechanics of behaviour, once you get that, it will be easier. 6. And finally, work to Synergize, to Win/Win. It is not about "I want to feel good in this relationship". It is about, having a mutually prosperous partnership that stems from understanding, compassion, honesty and integrity. You are a team of 2 different personality characters that have decided to cooperate, always look to understand the other side and work towards mutual benefit. If your motives are things like good sex and not being alone, you will suffer endlessly. Bonus: This is something I never realised until reading "Road Less Travelled". It's about the feeling of falling in love. We perceive it as a magical feeling and spend soooo much time chasing it once we feel it is going away. This however a pure fictional bullshit. True love is a conscious decision to nurture the spiritual growth of self an other person. The "in love " feeling is a sexual attraction that comes from human evolution and its prime directive is to support reproduction. That's it. The Hollywood love story is a bunch of horse crap. So realise that even if you do not "feel for each other" like you used to, it is because you haven't worked on the relationship, and not that this godly power has left you Good luck !
  6. Notice how you feel when you neglect your physical body. Even a great deal of consciousness work cannot compensate for lack of physical activity. Now compare it with the feeling you get when you leave the gym, when you have the cocktail of serotonin and dopamin which makes you feel alive and vibrant! A real growth is what needs to occur, you need to convince yourself within that this is something you have to be doing on daily basis. No amount of supplements, gym partners or music will do that for you, all those will collapse at some point. The deep motivation has to come from your willingness to be an extraordinary human being , I don't mean being muscular but becoming clean, efficient and full of energy, this transcends in all areas of your life. The pain in the gym is a small price to pay. I like the quote "pain is the weakness leaving your body." Created by some meathead but it does have a point. To positievely fuel yourself, think of positive benefits: Longevity, Sexual Performance, Energy balance ,Perfect mental clarity. It transcends in all other areas of your life. All that being said, you probably need some tangible advice to kick you in the butt. Do a proper warmup Start with light stretching to get your blood circulating, this you can do while at home. You'll already start to feel energy gain. Try adding skipping rope as a warmup. Its a lot of fun, much better than treadmil. Exercise outside, the fresh air will do you good and occasional peer may motivate you to go harder Have someone hold you accountable. ( but again that's not a real, growth) Eat a proper nutrition, this could also be a result of some negative energy. Brandon Brazzier's- Thrive Diet is an excellent guide to highly digestible athletic diet. Try a Sedona method, Leo has a good video on that.
  7. The problem with most pre-workouts is that the combination of beta-alanine, caffeine, arginine and other components completely burns out your adrenals. Even a proper diet rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants cannot cover the damaging effect. The "kick" you feel is your body going into Fight or Flight response, making you more vigilant and resistant but for a big price in the long term. I used to be very deep in that, couldn't even lift my ass of the couch without a double dose of No-Explode !! ....Throw that stuff down the toilet. Definitely look into your nutrition and add a regular exercise routine. @Outer made a great summary. Also agree with @pluto when you are completely out of touch with what you love, it drains you on the inside. One final thing,.. you may be low on calories which could also be causing you the lack of energy. Maybe you have a good nutrition but lacking calories will make you a walking zombie throughout the day.
  8. there is a book from Dr. Neal Barnard on reversing the sickness. https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/cka/Dr-Neal-Barnards-Program-Reversing-Diabetes-Scientifically/1594868107 . This is mostly based on changing your diet by focusing on Plant based. Not sure if this is something you'd be interested in, but check out a random video from Dr Barnard on youtube, this stuff is life transforming. He is a leading authority worldwide.
  9. few other suggestions: Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Charlie Chaplin, Mother Teresa, Siddartha Gautama Budha, Leonidas and the army defending Thermopylae, Spartacus, William Wallace,
  10. @Wyatt from a system's point of view yes. Our culture is judgemental, success driven, racist and extreme. Although we do not admit this openly, we all know its true. How else could people like Putin and Trump be in power. However the community is only as strong as its members, so when it comes down to each individual, we need to take 100% responsibility. That does not mean not seeking help, far the opposite. It means that whatever happens to you, you CHOSE how you react to it, nobody tells you to struggle alone but in the end, "the greatest demons can only be slain by him who summons them"
  11. Join Toastmasters to boost your conversations skills bro
  12. I find my concentration practice to be most powerful during my fast day ( every Saturday). I'd say at least 200% increase if not 300.
  13. There are 3 body types in general: 1. Ectomorph - tall, long limbs, very lean, finds it difficult to gain weight, yet extremely easy to lose it. defined by fast metabolism and overly exposed "Adam's apple" 2. Mesomorph - Naturally lean and muscular, tends to have low body fat and finds it relatively easy to gain muscle mass. Also has relatively fast metabolism but that can change with age/lifestyle 3. Endomorph - chubby type, the "big person". Not necessarily tall but usually heavy in weight, broad chest, thick arms and tights. Easy to gain fat all around the body. More challenging to lose weight than the other 2 types. All that being said, each of these can gain some benefits of the middle category ( mesomorph) if they change their lifestyle, diet, exercise routine etc. It is however quite unlikely for Ectomorph to become like Endomorph and vice-versa. From your profile pic, I'd say you are type 1. Also it is important to realise that your genetics largely predispose you largely from where you get fat. Some people only get fat belly while retaining skinny legs. Others gain everywhere( chin, ass, legs, arms..). If you have a lot of belly fat, it is likely that the area of lower abdominals is your primary fat storage and that your diet is too high in calories without significant nutritional value ( pastry, sweets, sodas, starchy carbs, fatty meats and maybe too much fruit). Secondly it is likely you do not have enough exercise to revers the fat buildup. High Intensity Interval is one of the best options there is for balancing weight and add some resistance training to gain muscle ( if you are interested in that). Or simply add a jogging routine to your planner at least times a week.
  14. Next time, you browse social media, put some awareness to it. Do it but do it consciously. Leo has a good video "Awareness alone is Curative" 1. I am picking a phone in my hand conciously 2. I am conciously opening the facebook app 3. I am conciously scrolling through this pile of horsehit that other people post and looking at things than I don't care about. And last, just realise how pointless social media usually is. You get soooo overloaded by meaningless information, drama, fakeness and pretenders that your whole self agenda is out of the window. After 5 minutes of endless scrolling, I feel like having 50 gazelles run over my head....
  15. @Epiphany_Inspired that dirt on the carrot is Vitamin B12, one of the most potent vitamins and the one that majority of Earth's population is deficient in. That kid definitely knew more about life than most adults
  16. You are getting a lot of awesome insights and that makes them afraid. It is a stuff they don't understand and most likely never will. Pity them and show them love. This non understanding is completely common and everyone who starts to do some consciousness work and change habits sees it sooner or later. As @General 2 said, it is the pendulum of homoeostasis at work. They don't know any better. There are things you can do: First of all realise that your life is 100% your responsibility and that you CAN get out of this rot you think you are in. Sign up with a local library to research all the books you need. This will also allow you more time for contemplation and generally being by yourself, there is little distraction in library. Meditate outside when the weather allows it. There is an internet that comes in USBs that you plug in to your laptop, look into that, ask your phone provider about it. You can show the middle finger to your dad taking wifi which is pretty lousy move IMO. You can still take notes and study, just add these notebook among your regular school stuff, your parent's won't even notice. I don't know what your age and financial situation is but I'd advise you to look for a job at least temporary and start saving your own money so that you make your decisions and can move on with your life, potentially moving away from your family until they find enough love to support you no matter what. Cheers !
  17. Nobody can answer these questions for you. Don't ask for a step by step manual on how to live your life from strangers who know completely nothing about you. What is your life purpose? What are you passionate about? These questions need to be answered first. Everybody has their own path, their own intuition, their own vision of life an goals. What works for me, might not work for you. That being said, it is generally good to have an education. It's not really about the information you get but its about going through this period when you are not burdened by anything and can focus on what is important. Just make sure you go study something that is meaningful to you. Don't listen to what you "should study" because it earns more or less. Do what is most natural to you.
  18. This whole idea that Fashion somehow matters is just a cultural rape. Our minds have been raped since we were kids with fashion trends. Nobody ever wants to be the weird kid, the one who wears odd clothes, we wanted to be liked, to blend it, to be like that other cool kid. Birds of feather flog together. Fashion is a genius masterpiece industry when it comes to marketing and salesmanship. They release crap articles to convince you that regardless of the garbage in person's head, the appearance is what matters the most. Than they give you SALES to buy it before it runs out. Summer sales, Winter sales, Black Friday, Last minute pre christmas sale, first after christmas sale. "Get it now, only now, best price on the market !!!!"Again it's only the cultural conditioning to be approved of, to be liked. I don't care about the reason. If someone is willing to spend 3K on a piece of clothing regardless of what it is made off ,that's a beautiful demonstration of completely twisted value system. Unless it is a scuba diving gear, hockey armour or something of that sort. That being said, we cannot obviously walk around naked, but to follow fashion trends and play the whole peacock game is a waste of life, time, money, energy. Last point, a bonus: Majority of trendy clothes are made of artificial materials. When exposed to even medium heat but even if not, they seep chemicals and deadly toxins through your skin. Things like polyester should be avoided like a plague. Go cotton or linen if you can.
  19. Everybody is addicted to sugar. We have been since we were babies. I don't mean the most obvious ones like Agavae Syrup, Honey, sweets, sodas but also fructose in fruits or starchy carbohydrates in pasta, pizza, rice. Or lactose in Milk. Corn starch, wheat products. It's everywhere. Don't beat yourself over occasional cheating, it is very very difficult to unhook oneself from the sugar, it can literally take decades. One thing though, I'd advise is not to remove spices from your meals. many of them have proven benefits to cardiovascular health, digestion, mental health, endocrine system etc...Just don't overdo it.
  20. Does he recognise that he has a problem in his live? If not, you cannot help him. Don't try to help someone who doesn't want to change. Sometimes you need to give time for a person to wake the fuck up.
  21. The key to successful relationship is being content in the presence of solitude in the first place. If you require other people to feel whole, you will always suffer once they all leave you. That being said, socialising can be very beneficial but also very toxic. I'd rather be alone than hang out with people who socialise to elevate their "social hierarchy status", polish their ego, boast, talk shit and generally waste time. Listen to your own intuition instead of other people out there. You don't really need many people in your life but it can be contributing to have a like minded person or two in your life. Seeking friends should not be random like we did in highs school by becoming friends with people who sit next to us but very picky and deliberate action ( as dicki-sh as that sounds). You want people who grow you and challenge you, you want people who will hold you accountable and give you critical but constructive feedback. You don't need fake, pretenders who will complements you and stick a knife in your back as soon as you turn around. As per the ladies, well again listen to your intuition again. It definitely has its benefits to experiment with sexual partners and it is also a pleasant distraction but you don't want to make it a priority ever. Just make sure you do not justify your solitude to give yourself a reason for self pity because that will damage your mental and physical health and make you very miserable person.
  22. @Natasha agree, the one I use comes in tiny tablets. I dose them based on my stress levels, activity and exposure to pollution in city.
  23. As long as they have broken the hard digestible cellular wall properly, it doesn't really matter. I use Sun Chlorella from Japan. They use a Dyno-Mill technique. Not sure how that works but it is 95-99% digestible. Although not the cheapest 1500 of them cost around 90 USD
  24. imagine the spectrum of your emotions. Complete depression and sadness on one side and excitement on the other. Happiness is being in the middle. It is being content with whatever is without needing to change. It is a state of complete acceptance. Even if you feel an emotion on a scale anywhere outside of the "content", it does not influence you, you do not become that emotion, you merely observe it and stay in the middle.
  25. @Moreira these days a term "superfood" has been prostituted to the highest degree, just as term "organic" or "natural". Marketing has completely decreased its validity. However there are foods / herbs /plants that are definitely superior in nutritional value and effects on central nervous system, respiratory, digestion etc... to most other. Things like Blue&Green Algae, Bee Pollen, Sprouted legumes and seeds, the ones you mentioned and many many other are incredible however there is a challenge of obtaining high quality ones. Chlorella for example ranges in digestibility anywhere from 3 %to 90% depending on source and manufacture method. But generally yeah, great stuff as long as you are getting a high quality .
