  1. I want to see someone who is genuinely passionate about the travel and places they visit. I don't care about fake smiles, "heeeey guuuuuys" faking youtube "models" who thumblink every video with their pircure in bikini, these videos make me sick literally. Drop any excessive makeup, cleavage revealing shirts and obvious click-batey clothes. What I miss in travel blogs is more history and description. For example while visiting an ancient site, in the background give us some interesting facts about the place, add a nice music etc. Try to find out something exciting about your destination's history. For example if it was a city that has in the past been besieged by roman army and fought them for days eventually leading to utter distruction and slaughter of every citizen, make sure to mention that. Add tips on what to avoid, what are the tourist traps or how not to get ripped of by local salesmen or taxi drivers. Tips on public transport tickets, schedules and costs,, currency exchange places, great budget hidden restaurants and tips for vegans, vegetarians. Be genuine and most of all be yourself. Don't fake anything. If you hate anything about the destination, tell the viewer. Never pretend that every place is gold. If you get lost, angry or upset, add that to the vlog too so that the viewer sees the reality of the place. All the best with the channel
  2. not the best idea IMO. You will most likely already struggle with energy levels during a long term fast and should conserve as much energy as possible. Long fast should be aimed at healing and cleansing. Exercise is neither as it produces acids in the body that take a lot of effort and energy to be buffered. Of course light walks and yoga are perfectly fine just don't go doing heavy heart pounding, hard breathing workout.
  3. @bejapuskas not a fan of his work This guy bashes on lentils like a madman. His audience are people with digestive issues that haven't been diagnosed and fixed properly. It is an elimination diet that takes away some of the most powerful category from the plant kingdom but does not fix the underlying issue. Not to mention he is a pill-pusher for Lectin shields and all sorts of crap. Of course many will benefit from eliminating lectins but the research clearly demonstrates that these foods prolong life and protect from a lot of chronic diseases.
  4. The sciatica is just a symptom of the herniation and sciatic nerve compression, you want to treat the herniation locally. First of all, the inflammation is there for a reason. It IS NOT a bad thing. The inflammation is your second line immuno-defence mechanism because it means your body is vasodilating and increasing permeability of local capillaries to improve the healing. Antiinflammatories is the last thing you want to do in case of acute inflammation. The pain is there on purpose so that you don't move the area which slows down the healing. If taking them, at least make sure they are NSAIDs (meaning non-steroidal) Try to chat to a naturopath or acupuncturer to see if there is anything to help the healing process. Or some herbs that improve lower circulation. I wouldn't put a lot of strain but mild swimming seems like a good idea as well as taking walks. Generlly the body knows what it is doing and can fix a lot of things provided that the fluid leakage from the herniated disc wasn't too significant or that the dislocation needs a manual adjustment.
  5. I used to compete in Judo from my 7 till 21 and can absolutely understand the passion and discipline that comes from martial arts. While I am all for having ambitious goals in life, trying to be THE BEST is always a losing game eventually. You put yourself in a shoes of competitor and your life will be based on always looking behind shoulder, always striving to be ahead of competition and keeping your golden throne. Eventually this is what drives many guys down the road of chemical substances and using whatever means available to stay on the top. This is one of the reasons I left the competing because many guys took it way way too seriously and relied on a lot of gear from what I've learned later on True life purpose should be about giving back and sharing your greatest gifts with the world, this is by far more rewarding than being awarded the best fighter...in a long term at least. That being said, perhaps at this stage of life you need to go and compete, you need to spend couple years pushing your way upwards in the ladder and making a name for yourself in the fighter community. And if that feels like you, then go do it, absolutely. Don't listen to anyone in here but your heart ( I know that sounds cliche). Your intuition will tell you when you've had enough competing and are ready to start giving back. There is a process to follow and I don't think one can just jump straight to the end.
  6. @Charlotte 1 cup a day is fine Charlotte Just make sure to time it well, outside of your main dose of iron. Just wondering though...have you been tested for low iron or diagnosed with anaemia?
  7. @bejapuskas of course you can. A Remember that on plant-based diets, the number one problem so many people struggle with lack of energy and hunger is simply not eating enough. Also maybe look up Derek's video called "tips for new vegans" that goes through a lot of struggles people face on plant based diets. Meat and dairy are calorically dense foods and when you take those away and do not replace properly, your energy levels will suffer potentially triggering a cascade of signs & symptoms eventually leading to iron-deficiency or B12/B9 deficiency anaemias , hair loss, weight loss and anxiety. Lots of great tips by @Feel Good above, make sure to consider those as well. Good luck !!
  8. probably the Intro into Systems Thinking and the whole spiral dynamics series was godly!
  9. Check out some of Simnet Nutrition's videos on youtube. He has many titled "what i eat in a day". The guy is an epitome of thriving on plant based diet. Lots of tips on recipes, sauces, nutrition and working out by an extremely humble and likeable dude
  10. @Alex90 @Feel Good noted, cheers guys btw even whole grains are not always as bad. Take for example a wheatgrass which is a baby wheat sprouted, it is super nutritious and a wheatgrass juice is incredibly cleansing and nutritious. Some people even pour it up their bums during enemas. But yeah, generally any processed grain will lose most of its value, while some of them may cause a lot of problems down the road if eaten too frequently
  11. Great suggestion with the Vitamin C ! I'd also add caution with drinks heavy on tannins like green tea and coffee. They block some iron absorbtion. Green tea is great but plan its consumption wisely : ) as per coffee...well that is a controversial topic on itself. Also, I'd suggest you look up "Gojiman" on youtube and his video in relationship to "iron". The dude is super knowledgeable and makes very educated videos about plant-based nutrition. And finally, make sure that in case your iron is low, there is not an underlying condition such as gastrointestinal bleeding somewhere in the digestive tract.
  12. Buckwheat , quinoa and black rice are still wholegrains dude, no need to go scaremongering about them. Wholegrains are unlikely to give you an autoimmune disease unless you have an inflammatory bowel disease, leaky gut, or something of that nature that couldresult in SIBO, the gut bacteria entering the blood circulation or landing on peritoneum and giving you systemic inflammation. As per the pesticides, you can decide to soak and sprout your whole grains to make it more digestible and nutritious which will effectively remove large chunk of the pesticides. Agreed on grains being acidic. Our bodies have powerful buffering systems to balance the PH of any meals but it is wise to control the intake of acidic foods which is pretty much every cooked food and food of animal origin.
  13. @NicAndStuff I'd say it if its simply for the purpose of competing and becoming the top of the league, than maybe not so but if its to pass down the knowledge, teach people how to defend themselves, improve their flexibility, agility and stamina than absolutely. On the top of that, imagine you could combine a combat school with retreats to nature, early morning meditation followed by combat practice. Making it a deeper experience as it used to be in times of Samurai. Adding new elements to it like learning about the body, various herbs, ways to survive in nature etc...I can see a powerful life purpose right there my friend.
  14. such a great post, love it ! Modern medicine is a wonder tool for those who have been hurt or in an accident, no question about it. Anyone who wants to see miracles happen should go sit in the emergency room for 3 hours after midnight.Being an ER surgeon is one of the most rewardig jobs because you clearly see success day in day out. The treatment of chronic diseases is where man has lost himself in thoughts, ideas, ego and delusion. These people have become so far-fetched from reality with years of academical brainwashing. It is great that more and more people are becoming interested in the alternative healing that alows the body to do what it has to instead of suppressing all its defense mechanisms.
  15. There are tens of thousands debates exactly like this one all over 4 chan , quora digest, facebook, twitter..... What's the point folks? Nobody in this loop is changing their opinion anyways. Let's just all go our own way and burry the axe.
  16. "War of Art" is quite good on procrastination but not sure it is what you are looking for. Perhaps Stephen Covey's "7 habits". It is a classic and full of wisdom and tips on productivity.
  17. the exact version of mine is: "To study health and the body, to help people live longer, better and to thrive in life." That's the fancy title at least....., the reality is still being stuck in corporate job , figuring out next steps and following a lucky star
  18. Leo's videos are like doing mountain climbing. Until you've conquered Mt Everest, there will always be a "bigger fish to fry" no matter what you have climbed so far. But you could simply decide to climb all 5K Alpine hills and be completely fine with it even though you haven't gone to the highest peaks. I'm finding actualized.org the same. There is information for you to become great at picking girls, successful at starting a business, being able to manage your finances, raise a conscious child, being proactive at your work or leaving your crappy job for something you think is meaningful. You don't have to go all in toward Enlightenment and most of us never will despite listening to all these videos. You can consciously decide to be happy with being successful in your corporate career even though there is way more for you out there if you wished to pursue it. And if no, that's fine. Lot of the content you may find "cold" and lacking softness because that's just the way these topics are. The facts and tips are laid down for you and if that's too scary, then maybe you are not ready for those topics yet, which is my case for example. If so, go back to the older videos and come back in couple years, perhaps you will be more wise by then, and maybe not but that's still ok
  19. This is pretty much the burden of trying to understand health and nutrition. I used to think I got it when I first discovered Patrick Holford talking about supplements, -> then comes Brian Clement saying that supplements are mostly bullshit -> then comes Michael Greger saying you actually need few supplements if you are eating vegan diet -> Mark Sisson says veganism is a cult and makes people sick hence converts many vegans to paleo freaks -> Dr Morse says eat only fruits and some veggies, everything else makes you toxic and inflamed. ...What's the truth anymore?..Perhaps there is none and everything is true and false at the same time because every human being is completely different. I am led to believe that everyone needs to find what works for them. A diet that will result in optimal energy & vigour throughout the day without stimulants, that will make it easy for you to get up of bed in the morning and give you a good sleep, no bloating and indigestion, no overal pains, poop 3 times a day, good skin, healthy hair and nails and healthy sex life and libido. In my opinion these are the indicators of vibrant health. These are the indicators to follow, not some goddamned chart of RDA values. I haven't found that optimal diet yet but know that many have, guess it comes down to trial and error without following someone's carrot blindly.
  20. Sorry dude, no idea about this one. I definitely believe infusions work for inflammatory and destructive lung conditions such as asthma, emphysema etc but can't really tell you which ones and how to prepare them. Do some google research. Is there a particular health conditions you are looking to tackle?
  21. Few questions for you: are you a regular coffee drinker? do you do any vigorous training or have a path of competitive sports that required a lot of training? do you get any of the following: anxieties blood sugar problems any inflammatory disease (ending in "-itis") hard time getting of bed in the morning most energy in the evenings How about any of these: migraines easy irritability goiter hard time putting on/losing weight excessive sweating EDIT + do you know your resting blood pressure? ++ do you know your resting heart beat?
  22. Bulking for the sake of being muscular and consciousness work are two separate paths, perhaps that's why. One being driven by vanity and ego the other by higher values. A healthy and strong body as a result of concious eating and concious excercise that is primarily aimed at longevity goes hand in hand with the true spiritual practice : ) .... at least in my opinion.
  23. No unique answer. Strong bias on both sides, lots of deliberate confusion and misinformation, hard to tell anymore. You can go full Keto or Vegan Keto. Some eat little veg, some eat/drink some eat dairy some don't. Same for vegan. Not all are raw, in fact majority of vegans are on high carb, some take in more fat than others, some go heavy on cooked foods some prefer mostly fruits and veggies. Go try all of them for couple weeks. Than come back to us and share your observations with the rest of the forum. There is no proof like direct experience.
  24. @Mirror of Confusion the thing with any oil that it is a highly dense source of calories stripped of nearly all of its nutrients. A lot of oils that are not "cold pressed" are processed on high heat and you know you are asking for trouble when heating fats to high temperatures. Also the reason that Mediterranean diet is considered so healthy is not high oils but a lot of fruits veggies , legumes, nuts and seeds. Yes, they do eat meat and some dairy but the staple foods are plants. Plus these people are very cheerful, social, get a lot of sunshine , exercise and swim in the sea which is incredibly healthy and ionising. They generally enjoy live more than us in colder climates. I've spent 6 months in Greece as an exchange student back in 2013 and literally every second person is ripped and fit as f**k. These people are an epitome of health. Greeks more than Italians from what I've noticed as italians tend to smoke and drink way too much, not to mention all the cheese they consume.
