@abrakamowse you are very welcome. Have a great day!
-
@abrakamowse I can appreciate that. I also like the quote.:) You are very welcome. It resonated with me more than you know.
-
@abrakamowseIts interesting, I like the archetype, the metaphor of it. When it comes to life in the universe? I think if we have a virtual reality construct this complex...aliens? Why not. Drakes Equation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drake_equation Thus I consider it in this light... As to the Galactic Federation and like the League of Alien Unions thing? The I channel Crom from the Cosmos thing? I'm a skeptic.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Its actually a very moving and engaging story. I am looking forward to hearing more. So, just curious...where did you "land" on the alien matter?
-
Whew! I thought I was missing something. I will look for it tomorrow then or send me a link via Private msg so I can check it out.
-
@abrakamowse, Can you send me a link please? I just scanned the journals and I don't see one originated by you? Must be blind this morning? Hahaha at me

Good for you. I will have to check out your crazy journal. I wish you a nice lunch and may the work day pass quickly and fruitfully.

@abrakamowse, Please, elaborate upon your line of thought here? (I love that whether people are pro or anti Transhumanism theory are willing to engage in the discussion. I wrote a piece awhile back called, "The Toys are Coming." As @Water so adeptly points out, we have folks still living in indigenous cultures and folks living in the land of posthumanism and all lands in between. Ethics, development of these advanced technologies and the roles they will or will not play? How will humans cope with this radical shift and an exponential singularity which becomes a super fluidity emotionally and pragmatically? Will we adapt? @Philip, your ethical concerns are genuine. Hi @jimboJonesI think this is a really fascinating question. I'm going to be interested to see what thoughts arise from this. I like contemplating things like this myself.

Hahah I do generally refer to it as the DSM WTF myself, but I also look at it with context. It is created by academics attempting to use definitions to describe behaviors and spectrums of behavior. We agree on that for certain. You are very welcome, and thank you.

I found it helpful t compare the Pete Walker information with Sam Harris' observations and then tried to find the central pattern I was engaged in. I hope some of this proves helpful for you.

Hi @lucasgloves Thank you for starting the thread. For future readers, lets make sure we are working from the same understanding of depersonalization and the treatment, so a link to Wikki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depersonalization C-PTSD is an emerging field of diagnosis and it covers personalization, disassociation and depersonalization related to severe trauma. A great resource in addition to any outside therapy.... http://www.amazon.com/Complex-PTSD-Surviving-RECOVERING-CHILDHOOD/dp/1492871842

Hi @Locooig I'm not certain this is true? I would love it if it was true. What are "crazy mental conditions...not physiologically determined?" (Precision is important, why we have a DSM, so we understand root causation versus correlation and we are working with the same definitions.) Can a person eliminate ALL false assumptions? Can a person eliminate all Mindsets? You statement is a mindset, albeit just a "different" mindset. I do think its true that doing this is a part of the process, I also agree switching point of view is power. Thanks for your comment.

Hi @ULFBERHT, I would agree that @Ryan_047 would do well to see a Dr. if there is one available. If not, then we have to work with what he does have available. Its a process. Thank you so much for your comment though, I do find both in tandem, when available, can be helpful.

Hi @Arman I like this observation. I find this truthful by observation as well. This? I wholly agree with. It makes you grateful when you have an epiphany as the result of someone just phrasing something a new way. We really do all learn from one another.

Hello @The Alchemist Great thread! I hope you are doing well this morning? "Am I the only one?" Highly improbable? If it were possible, all people would be capable of doing it? Many are not, so this "should" is not an "is." Sometimes people can get stuck. Some people have serious mental health illnesses which require the assistance of medical and mental health professionals. (IE: brain trauma, schizophrenia, etc. ) Another should versus a what is? The victim role: A balance? When you have been a victim of say a violent crime? You are going to have a grieving process. You have been a victim, many victims default to self blame and self loathing, thus they need to hear, it was not your fault. (IE: It's not your fault you were raped.) I would offer a different approach for your consideration... Its a healing space, not a space to camp forever. At some point if you want a whole and happy life you challenge yourself to move beyond the event; with or without the help of someone, and move to survivor and then hopefully onto thriver. By my observation its baby steps and not a linear process. Each person is different, working within a different framework of understanding, so I try to remember to allow each his or her own path.

@Chris40 Hello! Nice to meet you. I have a meditation practice, yes. You have however observed a definite issue for me. Those who have many interests and a broad skill set can have challenging time focusing on selecting one thing. Add the ability to multi task? My focus has been to finish a book. However, as much as the book I am working on is all my creation? My ex was the animator/3d artist so there was a collaboration. Once the marriage ended, I had to heal and then I realized wow, I associate this project now with this other being. Add financial practicalities? I was approaching the speed of light on my sit and spin doing activities which while gleaning external success were not bringing internal peace. Thus why I am here on Actualized.org. In the past three weeks, I've: Stopped most social media activity that is not automated. Focused more on self actualization Signed up for the Life Purpose Course Went from hardly eating to eating and eating healthy reading more Writing daily Learning to say no Practiced tools learned here in social settings with success Become more mindful of negative self talk Learned I knew more, I was stronger, more capable, wiser than I gave myself credit for. Have, without resistance found more success with mediation Focused more on building a life I like in the "real" world versus living in an "online world." (Huge) As a result become re-interested in my project again, as I take back ownership of other areas of my life. As far as active mind... I will take that as a compliment, thank you.
