  1. what's the difference between the 2? both seem to just be experiencing reality as literally what is.
  2. @Leo Gura i was going back to your early enlightenment content as i'm only just starting to get serious on the enlightenment path. You said in this video to only trust what is in my direct awareness. What's the difference between that and basic mindfulness meditation? A lot of the time when i do that it just feels like mindfulness meditation. I'm aware of the sensations and i'm trying to dissolve the boarders of reality without judging or being sucked into the content. Is the intention the difference?
  3. @ChimpBrain is it worth a buy though? if yes, what if it was full price?
  4. @Outer i like to think that if i have trouble obtaining 5meo i could still reach enlightenment without needing to dedicate my entire life to it. but rather just 1 decade of disciplined and focused practice. a paranoid/fearful question. i realize this.
  5. @Leo Gura do you still believe the average person, without psychedelics, who has a relatively healthy psyche could attain enlightenment in less than a decade with the right discipline and correct practices? like if they spent 95% of their waking hours doing self inquiry, sds, and meditating. because i remember you sort of implied in previous videos that the only reason it should take 20-50 years is if you're falling for dogma or not doing enough self inquiry. i'm curious as to what your current stance is on "natural" enlightenment vs drug assisted enlightenment and how long you would estimate it would take for the average person to self realize in either one.
  6. there are 2 videos that got me interested in this that i'm too lazy to link but one if from @Leo Gura the other is from @Emerald Wilkins. Leo was talking about language and how it's just sounds and symbols we ascribe meaning to. The Diamond Net talked about how when she was learning how to draw she had to look at things as they truly are in her perception which for all of us is actually 2 dimensional. I realize anything can translate well to spirituality from the right perspective but i'm just wondering if any of you know of fields that you think would naturally translate well. other than the ones mentioned (visual arts and linguistics). this is just something i'm curious about.
  7. @Leo Gura i looked up 'semoitics' and 'semiotics' popped up. is the ladder what you meant?
  8. so is that like when you hear a song and try to learn to play in without looking up the sheets/tabs or whatever? or simply learning to play music on your own with no formal teaching? i don't play any instruments but when i mess around on the keyboard i go into sort of a flow state as i try to play a melody and then improve my timing and/or speed. same with the guitar.
  9. i'm also curious if you'd agree that linguistics translates well, what specific parts? do you think it would be better to know how to speak multiple languages or have a broad understand of linguistics as a whole?
  10. What does the actualized forum community think of all the tags i just threw up? Also what experiences have you had with them?
  11. it would be cool to see a video that describes high quality relationships (intimate and non-intimate) and how to get into a high quality relationship.
  12. did you choose to choose to stay still? do you know where your choices come from?
  13. i've herd that when you practice gratitude by thanking the universe more of that thing you were grateful for manifests in your life. but should i thank the universe for the bad stuff to? i know when bad/annoying things happen it's good to become present and all that but i was wondering if i actually thank the universe for the situation is that just gonna attract more shitty situations? is that like telling the universe to throw more bullshit my way since i'm thankful for said bullshit? i hope not because i do feel good when i say "thank you" to the universe when i'm annoyed, uncomfortable or depressed. i'm not even bringing my mind to things i should be grateful for but rather i'm thanking the universe for giving me the present moment exactly how it sits now. it feels good as long as i don't have doubts in my head that this might be a harmful practice that attracts more annoyances in my life.
  14. in one month i'll be going on this retreat and i had an idea. i feel like it would be a good idea to do strong determination sitting along with the do nothing technique so that when i start the retreat my monkey mind would be a little more tired from the do nothing and i'll be able to adapt better to the long periods of sitting still since i've already been doing strong determination sitting. should i be putting these techniques at the forefront of my meditation habit up until the retreat? also what should i be expecting to feel like during and after the retreat? i know i probably shouldn't have expectations but i'm just curious to hear the experiences of the actualizers who've been on a vipassana retreat.
  15. @Leo Gura earlier in the thread you said it would probably take 10-20 years to master the field of enlightenment. were you talking about being super enlightened like the Buddha? or just like a baseline permanent realization of non-duality and the authentic self? because i remember in older videos you said enlightenment could possibly be achieved in a short amount of time (like a year or two or even months) if you use the right techniques and dedicate all waking hours to consciousness work.
  16. @Leo Gura i realize this but i think i'm a pretty long ways away from unconditionally loving the whole universe and truly not seeing anything as bad. thank you for the reply Leo
  17. although i do buy into the law of attraction and plan on getting more serious about my affirmations and visualizations to see if i can get some first hand undeniable evidence that it truly works. my post was more so about weather or not it could be harmful to practice gratitude in any situation and weather or not it's good to be thankful for the situation it's self. you did a good job at answering that. thank you.
  18. How far should someone be in their personal development before they think about buying Leo's life purpose course?
  19. I'll be living in a tent in Arizona soon (not homeless, i'll be in my moms backyard) and i was wondering if anyone here knows anything about how heat/sweating effect consciousness? To anyone with experience or knowledge on the subject it would be greatly appreciated to hear your thoughts.
  20. i haven't read any of your post yet but if you haven't yet showered today i suggest you get on that.
  21. A lot of people in the self help field suggest that you don't get a job. But what if you're broke? I assume you need to get a job to at least make enough for start up capital? Although a lot of the people i watch are big on new age type philosophies and manifesting your own reality so maybe they're suggesting to just change the mindset/attitude towards money? I'm open to that but it seems like i could make the money faster by just slaving away for a few months.
  22. @Helena4 yeah, a specific get out date seems helpful because i know it's easy to slip into mediocrity once you get use to the routine.
  23. @gmc24 thank you, that was helpful.
  24. @Steven there's a point to meditation? this idea is new to me.
