Sounds good. "I feel like I can recognise an emotion or thing that is happening although I still feel like I have not mastered emotions." This one is very very good benefit. The more you raise your awareness like that the more insights you will get. This kind of meditation can make you very smart. Not book smart but perception smart. It's when you see a situation or a person and you see exacly why he acts the way he acts, or why he feels the way he feels etc. This meditation that you do produces great mental clarity and wisdom about life. I heard one master called this "knowing without studying" simply a clear perception of what is what. That's my favorite benefit of meditation -
Your definition of enlightenmemt is too shabby. You underestimate what it's like to be a devine being. Literally god. Not just being in the present moment.

That's true for everyone. "World is not the way you think it is, world becomes exacly by the way you think" - Mooji. There's enourmos enourmos amount of memory in you which is shaping your present experience. It would be true to say that you never experienced a single moment the way it is. What you experience is always distorted by your emotions, thoughts, ideas, prejudices, likes and dislikes, cravings and aversions etc.. all of that is what is called data or memory or karma. This data that is in you descides everything about you. How you walk, talk, breathe, think, feel, what you want, how you persceive life everything is descided by this data or memory aka karma in you. Thats right, this karma is affecting every single moment in you, you never experience reality as it actually is, your experience is shaped and distorted by lifetimes of memory or karma "I have no idea how to conquer this." There are methods to become self-realized and there're methods to dissolve karma. It means you're dissolving everything that is influincing your perception, you're starting to see things just the way they are. you're going from untruth to truth. For example vippassana meditation has nothing to do with nondual mystical experiences, god like consciousness etc. The aim is to purely dissolve karma or cyclical memory in you. Even in nondual states of consciousness there're enourmos distortions happening in your experience. You're still not seeing the way things really are. That's why this question, "how do I know that what I experience is the ultimate truth?" Well the answer is nondual experiences are still not the ultimate truth, until there's a single like or dislike in your mind, even if it's somewhere in a subconcious mind, even if a slightest craving is there that means your experience is distorted experience. It's not the truth. That's why in Bhuddhism in vippassana they dissmiss any kinds of samadhi experience as useless, they are only concerned about dissolving karma. Which is actually a very smart attitude towards life and spirituallity. Unfortunatelly many spiritual seekers don't know about this and they can't even compute what I'm talking about here. Hmm.. actually sadhguru's surya kriya hatha yoga practice has an element of dissolving karma. So you would get both, health, mental benefits, getting in tauch with your body and also dissolving karma which is the whole point of spirituality.

@Lister I would consider putting the chakra practices on hold for a while in case that's the cause of your problem. Energy work is no joke. -

@bobbyward i see. Who knows. I saw many versions on YouTube of surya namaskaram. It's totally wrong the way they teach is so irresponsible and wrong on so many levels and they have zero understanding of what they say. Do like this, do like that but they are absolutely ignorant what they say. Of course i didn't see every single video of surya namaskar on YouTube but what I saw was terrible.. I tried some YouTube surya namaskar before I went and learned surya kriya from sadhguru. After that I never ever again going to look into another YouTube yoga instruction... It's just pure bullshit real authentic Yoga is way way different and it can't be taugh by a book or a video. It can only be transmited by a yogi. Because yoga is not a teaching. It's not a bundle of instructions. It's living thing. It's alive. That's why it's so powerful. -

Lol. If I started talking about the benefits and my devotion and gratittude and impact it had on me i would not know how to shut up. I would get so excited you would think I'm talking absolute crazy nonsense I'll say this much. You don't know the sheer mind blowing full body orgasmic impact of Yoga untill you tried at least one sadhguru's program. It's on another level of dimension altogether...... ..... -
Salvijus replied to zunnyman's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@zunnyman @bobbyward it's an ancient yoga practice of tremendous antiquity that can be transmited to you from sadhguru. Very good video on surya kriya. -

If i had to guess this is not some purging or cleansing or process of purifying. It's some real physical issue and seems intense. But could be caused by improper practices also. Does it happen during the meditation or at any time of the day? -

Go for surya kriya if you want mental balance. It's very powerful way of developing mental balance. You can feel it when you do it. There's no other feeling like that. The feeling is like: "wow, this is the first time in my life that I'm actually doing something for my mental balance". Until I tried surya kriya i had no idea what "mental balance" even means. "If you learn to bend, you won't brake, that's why Yoga (laughs)" #sadhguru -

Hmmm.. i can try To perform any kind of deviaous, dishonest, low consciousness actions you need a support from others. If you're alone it will not have any impact at all. This appies not just to large scale evil but everyday situations also. Let's say you want to gossip on somebody, you immediatly need a friend who will support you. Only then it will grow. If you are the only one in the entire classroom who wants to say bad things about someone's back. It will not find expression. It needs a companion. "Crime thrives in friendship" friendship is an essential ingridient for any kind of deviaous activity to grow. It can't survive alone. Criminals are actually very petty small insecure beings inside. So for them to feel powerful they need to group up in a big groups. Otherwise they feel powerless to do anything. I can see this in everyday life. For example, a guy wants to prank a teacher and make fun but nobody supports him nobody thinks what he's doing is great then he will feel like a fool. He can't pull it off. Deviaousness dies immediatly. But if the whole class supports him. It grows and depending on how much friendhip and support he has that will be the size of his crime. If only one friend is there to laugh with him. He will be careful, he will only say things to his friend's ear they will make fun of the teacher in their own small circle. If the whole class supports him then he would feel so much more powerful. He could stand up and beat the teacher to the ground. That's why crime thrives in friendship. Worst of criminals have, most loyal and close friends otherwise they're powerless. Goodness on the other hand, doesn't need any support. It can spread and grow without any friendship. If you know what you're doing is good, you can function in the world without any support. It's complete and powerful by itself. Evil is only powerful in groups. Alone it's too petty. So the moral of the story. If you can't be alone, you're not pure hearted enough. (probably :D)

Fear comes when you're not mature enough, not ready to face the truth, when there's no balance and stability in you. Generating random emotions have nothing to do with maturity and stability. If you want to dive deep love is not what is needed, but a stable foundation on all levels. If you have prepared your system on all levels. Diving deep into truth would be a most fantastic experience, not a terrifying one. "Even if the most fantastic thing happens to you, if you're not ready for it, it will be a disaster" #Sadhguru Ego backlash is just that, you pushed yourself more then you can handle, so it backfires. -
Well that goes without saying But I don't think that was the message here It was more like: "Crime and friendship is directly connected" kind of thing.

"I must have friends otherwise i can't be happy" "I can only be happy if I'm in a relationship with an opposite sex" "I CANT LIVE WITHOUT YOU" famous most romantic thing you could say to somebody. But... "I can't live without holding onto a stick". "I can't be happy unless I tie myself to a tree" isn't it a big bondage? A huge restrictrion and limitation upon you? Don't you want to be happy no matter what ? Either you're alone or with people it dosn't matter, you're complete life by itself, don't you want that? But no. People are celebrating their bondages. They call it rommance but it's actually a bondage. If you celebrate your bondages, if you think bondages are the best thing in life, you're finished. You won't go very far in life. It's okey, you feel this compulsion overriding you and you can't stay alone or you'll go crazy, it's okey. It is what it is. But don't make phylosophies that being in bondage is good, being in bondage is fantastic, being in bondage is a MUST otherwise you CAN'T be happy. Do what you have to do now, but move towards freedom slowly at your own pace, don't start celebrating your bondages

Maybe try to observe your thoughts and feelings of anger, sadness, anxiety , sensations etc. It's a good practice for mindfulness and raising consciousness also -
Salvijus replied to Simon Håkansson's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Mindfulness meditation and monkey mind don't have anything against each other. The idea is to become more and more aware of the activity of the mind. So monkey mind happens you observe monkey mind, if game strategy happens you observe that also, whatever thought comes you observe that also. It's impossible to stop the activity of the mind. Either you'd become brain dead vegetable or an enlightened being but until then i wouldn't bother about the mind. Do you even know why you meditate what are you trying to achieve by doing nothing everyday for 1h? https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=311590016192198&id=129557084395493 -
"Great beings and who are commited to create wellbeing for people are usually friendless" #Sadhguru Be careful not to missunderstand this in some weird way because this a little bit advanced topic here. 4.15min
