  1. Because in self-inquiry state of self-realization there's still cravings and aversions, attachments, still desire is very active and ego is still there. Vipassana is a higher state because it seeks to destroy the ego completly, to leave not a single spot, total purity. I heard Mooji once discribing two ways to enlightenment. One is you purify yourself more and more until you get enlightened. Another is you realize the true self, and then purity follows naturally after that slowly. I like how this guy describes this state of zero desire. Very poetic.
  2. Yea but vipassana teachers.. For me they're like budhha statues sitting. So equanimous.. I think vipassana is not about self-realization like peter ralston. It's about purity, renunciation, dissolving attachments and ego. What you try to achieve in vipassana is a much higher and harder state to achieve then self-realization. Differerent methods, traditions have differerent qualities also. A devotee would emanate a differerent fragrance also. I'm sorry you had to see that. That's dissapointing indeed
  3. @Dwarniel what is your idea of "fully enlightened" people?
  4. Use this, very supportive. Buddham Sharanam Gacchami Dhammam Sharanam Gacchami Sangham Sharanam Gacchami

  6. Why someone who's transcended all desire want to help others? What is his motivation to help other people if he has no desire left in him.
  7. In my experience it clutters the mind and makes the quality of meditation much less.
  8. I hope you get better but i feel you won't know how to do fasting properly, how to eat healthy properly, how to do all those things. It's insane science. You need a proper ayurvedic councelor. Someone who can tell you every step, every Micro element what to eat what to avoid. Many people cause much more damage by fasting or trying to be healthy because there's so much that you need to know. And every person is different. For differerent kind of disease there are differerent kind of foods and lifestyles, differerent fastings, for differerent type of body types, according to your body costitution/prakriti, your age, your current condition, your digestive fire, there're differerent treatments for everyone. Like... I really wish you get better but I would reccomended you get a consultation with an ayurvedic doctor so you could go through this process properly with a profesional guidence. I know one person who's an ayurvedic doctor and also a western medicine doctor for more then +10years in dealing with various, various patients inclusing cancer patients and she's an isha hatha yoga teacher also. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pd9AWcU_XxI&t=3s https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb5MfoguWRg&t=1063s I can contact her to give you a consultation online.
  9. I second this.
  10. @winterknight You mean Ramana Maharshi? 10.40 He's Papaji's student and Papaji was Ramana Maharshi's student. Maybe that counts as a lineage
  11. That's a nice meditation. I actually tried it and it was fun
  12. Lol I don't know much about it. But in my experience it's also true. These full/new moon days amplify thought activity somehow and mind can't fall asleep when it is very active. Also if your psychological structure is not okey then in these days it will become even more imbalanced. One thing that always works for me is a practice I learned from inner engineering that creates a harmonious psychological structure. I'm emphizising this word psychological because there's physical, mental, emotional, energy alingment, every kind. I don't go to sleep without it anymore. Now I fall asleep in like 5min continiously for many months on end. Without it I would be rolling for an hour before I'd fall into sleep. So yea. I'm not an expert on this, but I think the solution is to have equanimous mind, escpesially on full/new moon days because on these days evey imbalance becomes more. At least for me that works 99.99% of the time.
  13. I do actually. Seems possible to me. Every form has a sound and every sound has a form. Based on this sanskrit language is made. This has nothing to do with belief, this is science. I think It's maybe been proven even idk
  14. Ralston: what's the point of changing name? Is this sound more spiritual then this "woooaaah" The only funny thing here is how ignorant he is of the significance of using sounds. He just assumes everyone is stupid and makes fun of them without realizing that he's the one who knows nothing about it. That's why I linked those videos to point out the irony.
  15. I'm not really into books However I do know somewhat about mantras and sounds just by watching the videos on youtube
  16. That's not the point. I mean he just displayed how he doesn't understand the significance of sanskrit language and the science of sound and started mocking it. That's low... It's explained in the videos
  17. Ralston is pretty ignorant here... Just lost a lot of respect for this man...
