If he was worried about money, he would have stayed silent on certain issues rather than chose to die for what he believed in.

A genuine opinion can be wrong. But it's not a lie. It's different when people lie on purpose to get away with corruption. That was not Charlie's thing at all.

He encouraged an open debate. And that fosters deeper thinking among all. And that's a positive thing to do. That was his shining thing he was willing to die for.

The very nature of an open debate is to foster understanding of different view points and deepen your own. He did lots of that. That's the important thing. That's why he shined. Because he played by the rules of truth. Not backstabbing, blackmailing or spinning lies.

Charlie was inspiring people to think deeper and more indipendantly. You can't do that from a place of hate. It's an expression of light. And he chose to continue that activity even knowing that he's triggering powerful people in power. He expressed his concerns about being killed shortly before he was shot so he was fully aware and chose to do the right thing despite of it.

His truth. His honest thoughts about the world. Thoughts that he was willing to share and openly debate with others who have a different perspective. And for that he got killed.

Consider that Ericka maybe would be dead aswell if she was to speak the truth. Maybe she's just a victim of some much deeper darkness pulling the strings. That's my gut feeling somehow. In poorer countries women settle down for less I think, because they're used to those living conditions. But if you're living in a wealthy country like you mentioned, then yea, I can totally understand. Rick people won't even look at you as a human if you're poor. The conceit that wealth brings is huge. Not all tho. There're always exceptions to everything.

There's a reason that woman stays in a long term relationship with a rich guy and only have casual hookups with broke guys on a side. She will respect you, value you, maybe even sleep with you. But will she commit to a long life with you if you're chronically broke? I'm prone to saying no. Relationships are expensive.

To have short term hook ups, yea, no problem, you can get laid even if you're homeless. But to be in a serious long lasting relationship, perhaps with a family and kids, a successful carrier is likely very important, if not the most important thing. But of course there will always be some exceptions with a small percentage of people.
