  1. Noooo... ? This hurts. Why would the absence of all imagination, aka, the void, be imaginary.... it literally means the opposite of imagination... gosh.... Here's a queation, how would one describe the state where all imagination/creation/dreaming is over? The answer i would propose: nirodha samapatti, or void in english.
  2. @Water by the River It should have a special meaning tho as far as i understand. Because achieving nirodha samapatti is an indication that one's awareness has trancendenced all mind. Being able to sense nothingness among all things like in Dzogchen is not necessarily an indicator that he achieved total trancendence yet. But by keeping his attention on the emptiness during all activities and refining his discernment further he is bound to achieve total trancendence, nirodha samapatti some day. So nirodha should have a special meaning here. It indicates the level of growth and trancendence one has attained imo. And i also think one who attains to nirodha is automatically able to see nothingness in all things like Dzogchen. But i could be wrong idk.
  3. @Water by the River If i got it right, you're basicly saying that manifestaion is not different than nothingness. I get it. You don't need to keep explaining it ? I still think it is not related to my original post tho. I heard a good argument once on this topic why total cessation has extra importance. It's because suppose there was water mixed with milk, if one wanted to experience what water tastes like, he first would need to evaporate all the milk out of it. Then that one has truly tasted the absolute without any milk in it. Until one experiences a clear dip in total cessation he doesn't know what water tastes likes, he knows a mixture of water and milk only. I thought it's a good thought provoking argument.
  4. Okey i think i see where that train of thought came from now. But i never heard anyone calling nirodha a temporary, passing thing. Calling it the absolute, unborn, uncreated, eternal, boundless makes much more sense imo. And the original point i was trying to make was triggered by Leo saying that nirodha and nothingness is just an act of god's imagination and how it doesn't make much sense to me. Because nothingness in my view is the only thing that cannot be imagined or created or dreamed up. Rather i think it would be more accurate to say nirodha is the total opposite of that. It's the end of all imagination, end of all creation, end of all dreams etc.
  5. @Water by the River What you wrote sounds valid enough but i hope you're aware that it was completely off topic and had nothing to do with my quote or the point i was making lol. But it's okey, i don't mind.
  6. If i understand it right, the value is that one transcends all manifestation, becomes "liberated", end of suffering, end of craving, end of all ignorance about the nature of reality and oneself etc, ability to see how your mind creates all experience down to the subtles levels etc. There could be more idk. It is sayed, the sense of freedom that one experiences in nibbana makes one lose all interest in wordly pleasures totally.
  7. Not any part in particular but the guy itself is a gem worth checking out.
  8. I can relate to this. Many pop songs are pretty good when you don't understand English that well in my experience ?
  9. True. It's only for very advanced late stage of development beings. But that song you linked "baby i can't live without u" sounds more like simping
  10. You mean "baby I would die for you" lyrics? Sounds romantic I think it could be rephrased as "I care about others wellbeing more then I care about my own". That's basicly a bodhisatva. So could be argued that it's a high quality. But the paradox is that someone who offers and sacrifices himself for the wellbeing of others is probably the most well off and exctatic. The more one gives, the more that one will receive. If you give yourself away totally, you gain Totality.
  11. @playdoh wanting to rip and kill other people doesn't make you bad it makes you honest ? little dark humor Honesty makes all things right and good in the end. So don't be afraid of your honest feelings, embrace them. It will lead to positive results.
  12. @playdoh don't try to create visualization intentionally tho. It has to arise naturally. Your mind is already wanting to rip that person head off perhaps. So just allow it fully in your mindscape. But also observe the whole thing as it unfolds. Observing and allowing have to go together.
  13. Yes give full permission to experience it. Espesially if those imagines are arising naturally and spontanuously. But don't forget to be an observer of it also. A curious child like witness watching "wow, i had no idea i had so much anger in me, interesting" ? and keep allowing and observing and the energy will transform and you'll begin to feel perhaps tears or sadness coming and then keep going further, keep allowing and observing and it will transform into compassion and love. That's when it will be healed and it will have a positive healing effect on the other person aswell
  14. @playdoh have you tried allowing the anger fully? What i would do is allow the anger to express itself internally so to speak and just observe at the same time. Images of you kicking and screaming may arise in the mind, that's okey, give full permission for all the anger to show itself inside you. Allow it, observe it, and that should lead to healing. At least in my case it does. The wisdom few know about is that whatever emotion you allow and embrace fully will turn into love. Hard to explain why. And to confirm this in direct experience can take some practice.
  15. I think you could do it way more effectively. I could show you how myself if i had proper space and opportunity for it. Otherwise look for a better teacher or something. There are ways to meditate much more effectively is what im trying to say.
  16. To be more perceptive perhaps. In music you can be a tone deaf person or a Mozart. Similary in many areas of life you can increase your perseption of it deeper and deeper. You can be more diet concious then others, environment concious, physics concious, esoteric concious etc. It means being able to see something that others cannot. In spirituality it usually means to be more aware of deeper and deeper layers of our ego and how it distorts our perseption of the world and causes misery. To the point where one reaches a perception of reality without any distortions. A perfect truth. Being able to see through many many layers of bs that people have is what makes one more conscious then others.
  17. Love is never offended Love is never triggered Love is never in conflict Love is never resentful Love is never judgemental Love is never condemnation Only ego can be all those things But love can sometimes be painfully strict, diciplined and seemingly harsh and cold when it's necessary. But still not angry.
  18. Not many people can do it through sheer will power unless you're like david goggins or smth. Or someone who does lots of physical activity. A wiser way imo is to intensify the spiritual practice to the point where the compulsion to explode drops by itself or at least lessens quite a bit. Then it's much more doable
