@ill Mmm... What I see you doing is intellectualising. You have not even dealt with your basic shame based ego yet. Anyone foolish enough to respond to your mind play is as uninformed as you are.. Do the work

@Nulik In this world, to make five million, somebody is going to have to be exploited, or loose, just so you can make the money. It's not about value. It never was. That is a false belief. Making money is about rape and pillage and nobody in the end wins. I know my words are irrelevant to your question, please ignore them if they do not resonate. Thanks

It is what it is. Just be aware of it, and focus on the work that needs to be done here: the inner work. No point making something bad, wrong, right etc... that's just the game, and it leads to nowhere but suffering and increasing differentiation. Look inside, gravitate towards that and forget about the pettiness.

@Ayla Thanks for your help here. And thanks for pointing out various neuroticisms for us to look at. It really is true that once a pattern has been brought out, understood and just lived through with enough present awareness it can just evaporate, and that be the end of it. -
@electroBeam Listen. I consider you a bro. Because you're on here doing something about your situation. And that I respect. We spoke before, and you have been honest and have disclosed some difficult personal challenges. I couldn't help with that, I recommended some group therapy to gain some control over your social life. I still stick by that! 100% I think you would benefit. But this pickup business, it won't work. It's doesn't work even for the best of us. If you have this "I'm boring and uninteresting" programme running in your brain, no amount of success and external feedback from women is going to make a difference. Takle the inside first. Become your potential and you will find the nourishment you desire. And it won't be based on some techniques. No false self can be loved, or love. This is a losing game and the false self trying to fix itself will always feel empty. Think about it for a while. Sort this programme out first and then you will see what is possible.
-
If you have watched the video and still think pick up is worth it, then I assume you are at at an all time desperate low to fix your life. Picking up chicks in clubs is not the answer. I've been there and it's bullshit.
-
@electroBeam Trying to understand this logically won't work. Taking my words about real women out of context is an indication of how undedicated you are to this work. I recommend being yourself, not the self you think you are, but your real self. That's all decent women want. That's all I'm saying on this subject. Those who are genuinely interested will think about it.
-
@electroBeam Wow, there has been twenty minutes lapsed between my posting Leo's video and you asking this question. His video is 90 minutes long. I'm no math expert, but this seems dodgy
-
Ok, use their techniques. See where it takes you in 10 years "techniquing" your way through interactions while real women watch you and laugh. Or, you can spend time and energy learning to become yourself so that your natural abilities rise to the occasion when needed. Your choice.
-
@electroBeam Those guys are not even self actualising. They are twisting self actualisation to suit their agenda. Layer upon layer of conceptual b.s. I don't expect everyone to see what is happening in that community, and everyone has to make their own mistakes, but these guys might be good at acting some persona that women in clubs find fun at the time and use to kill time with, but these guys are not actually good with women. Not even Tyler can hold down a meaningful relationship. He is one of the most dysfunctional people I've seen on the internet. Did you watch Leo's video about pickup? I don't agree with everything that Leo says, but I agree with him about the pickup community. It's complete nonsense.

@Huz Harri, go to yoga classes. It's much easier to have an instructor, plus you never know who you might meet...

@Philip Hi Philip, My advice is get off the weed entirely. Go cold turkey and start to look after your body. You can't do work like this with a questionable physical system. Another thing is stick with the meditation, or some form of grounding, because you want to stop yourself being taken over intellectually by these feelings.
-
In a psychological way observe your current behaviours, obsessions, hangups. Just observe without judgement and with a curiosity to try to understand yourself. It's going to take repeated action and observing until the "ah ha's" come. But they will if you stick with it. There is no need to dig into the unconscious or psychoanalyse. If there are dysfunctional or painful patterns now, then this is the unresolved past in you expressing itself now.

@Julio Escalera You can be open minded by getting to know yourself a bit better psychologically. If you understand that you have your own unique worldview, and learn to accept that, you can learn to accept that others have their own unique worldviews too. You might be using certain tools like resistance and dogma because it's the only way you can maintain your individuality. But this is a stage along the way, ideally you want to become "pluralistic" and the way to do that is to understand that everyone (including you) lives in their own reality, and this is our right. -
Mmm..you're not lost. Not at all. I merely stated something. Notice the direction your mind took it... Into something more than it is.. Can you see that? I promise you, that of you listen to Charlie you will begin on a journey that won't disappoint you. I have very recently realized that we don't need teachers and paths. Sure it's a good thing to have some tools, but you can find your real self, and if you attempt to look for your real self and ask the right people here questions to take you to the next level, then you cannot go wrong!?
-
@Emilio I'm going to butt in here: Emilio, you just answered your own question there. You saw the results that following the likes of these teachers produce.

@J. M. Wigglesworth Yes. Do the circular breathing practice Deida teaches in T.W.O.F.S.M audio book

@LeonellCassio Hey Leonell, Sometimes we just got to let it out, if somebody has done something actually "bad" then it's kind of natural to let off steam. I think this in moderation is fine, as long as we keep an eye on it and are working towards better things, for example: becoming more interested in our inner world. It's the people who are continually toxic with it, you know those types, we all know "those types". Obviously it's best to stay away from these people and not get involved in their obvious personal dramas. But the bottom line is, I wouldn't try to stop myself "letting off steam" if I feel the situation is justified. We are organisms with limitations of course, and we are not perfect, so making attempts to directly suppress or "quit" this kind of thing are a losing game, because all we end up doing is creating another aspect of ourselves that does nothing for the habit, but instead just shames us for being "like this". Better to continue to do our introspection, meditation, shadow work etc and get to a place where these things have less grip over us.

No choice. Nobody knows they are asleep until there is a glimpse of awakening, and even where there are moments of freedom, nobody knows what it is, and it can't be sustained because the way social life is structured ensures the ideology sticks. Plus this spirituality thing is an ideology too. An ideology about getting rid of ideologies. Sneaky!- 1 reply

The ego IS the ideation. And an ego can even split itself in two and watch it's own activity and pretend to be meditating and growing. This is why I say that awareness is not of the ego, and awareness is something that cannot be brought about intentionally. It has to arise, or "awaken". When egos ask questions about awareness, they are attempting to conceptualise something that is actually the "end of the ego". When the thoughts are seen as illusion, that's awareness. That's the real self. That's awakening.

I think most of us when Witnessing are subtely trying to decide what is a good thought or a bad thought and at the same time attempting to play the egoic role of "skeptic" toward the ideation. This is a trap, because all we have done is make our thoughts "not me, not mine" where what should be happening is something awakening that witnesses the thoughts and instantly recognise thoughts as complete illusions (as opposed to us just labelling thoughts illusiory). There is nothing to be done except pay attention to the thoughts. I like the Dzogchen method of "do nothing": "not accepting and not rejecting". By accepting the thoughts we become them and remain trapped. By rejecting the thoughts we just merely disown them, pathologize them and "split them off". Either way, there is no "witness" present. It's still the ego messing around with itself and thinking it can get somewhere. It's better to just watch thoughts and "see" how they affect our lives, or bodies and our relationship to life. Also, to see how thoughts don't really make sense, are inconsistent and how they don't accurately represent "what is"

@Salaam If you're going to write a book, could I suggest one thing? That you tone it down on the intellectual aspect. I get tired and bored reading too much monkey mind, I prefer texts that wake me up rather than put me to sleep. You will reach a much wider audience this way. Also, if you are indeed trying to help and deliver the right information, at least learn how peoples psyches work, less insults, put downs, terrible twos competitiveness, slander, accusation, projection, mindless profanity fucking this fucking that... these things put people off if you're also not willing to learn and be open minded yourself, or at least try to accommodate others or admit you're wrong every so often. These attributes just put peoples backs up and make them just see you as a dickhead. You're not a dickhead in my eyes, but you could be percieved as one by the way you go about presenting your ideas. Most influential people had people skills in order to effectively deliver their message in ways their audience could hear. Even the common man knows and is aware of such things. Even a failure like the Buddah managed to influence a handful of people. You have managed 0. Less attachment to your theories too, most people hate a bore at a party. It's the same dynamic here. At least make it entertaining and easy to read please. Thanks- 71 replies

Ok. For you yes, maybe. I was thinking about this stuff ten years ago, and all it did was make me angry. I'm done with it
