And actually, cold showers do work. They push you into the present moment. I remember when I had my first spiritual type experience, I used cold showers in the morning to remind me to become present.

@Irina Irina Meditate. Actually, recognise the first noble truth : Life is suffering... Then meditate

In that case... I wonder how many almond trees are being slaughtered to manufacture this stuff? -

They are not going to be a dairy product are they?! Probably made from almond milk. -
@Moon Did you notice that all of these concepts and videos contradict each other? When people become aware of what this Youtube channel really is, they drop the concepts, and start listening to their own intuition on how to live their own lives. These concepts are useless. The only thing you can do is to awaken from the dream of your individual identity and begin integrating your potential. Until we learn to do this, the self help industry will continue to profit from the idea of deficiency that has been woven into the collective mind of humanity.

@Vlad Ropotica Observation is accepting it. Plus, by observing it, you are no longer giving fuel to the ideation that keeps it going. -
@Mary Hi Mary, Who said one is not supposed to be aware during the meditation? It's "do nothing". This means that if awareness arises then awareness arises. If thoughts arise, then thoughts arise. If pain arises then pain arises. If avoidance, control, or manipulation of experience arises, then avoidance, control, or manipulation arises. If ice cream cravings arise then ice cream cravings arise. The point is to train ourselves to notice the difference between choiceless awareness and the need to change or run away from the mind.

I agree. Although it feels painful for me to read his stuff, I sense the angst and frustration is the vehicle to communicate his pain. I have no idea what his issue is, but nobody can help somebody who doesn't want to be helped. My advice to you Piotr is stay away from toxic people, you don't realize how much damage they are doing to you even by reading the words.- 71 replies

@Kenya Thanks Kenya. Your reply is the most insightful. I never thought of it like that You actually thought about the question rather than approach it with programming.

@Bruno An intellectual way of looking at this is you have 3 selves. 1) The false relative ego: This is the fragmented ego. Think of narcissism, psychopathology. Abnormal psychology. 2) The authentic relative ego: This is an accurate self image. The "mature" ego. It is the high functioning self, "self actualisation" 3) True self (absolute self): The presence I was speaking about. This is beyond conventional meaning making, it's a non dualistic perspective, the personal identity is not present in this state. It is a state experience where the person understands in a first hand way that his/her personal identity was a fiction and that being identified as a seperate individual is living in an ultimately false reality. For most seekers this can only be a state experience. Degrees of consciousness are mapped through this sequence. The false ego has the least amount of consciousness. The more accurate the self sense the more consciousness, the less "heady" the person (the less identified with illusion).

Here is what Aurobindo has to say about spiritual ego: https://auromere.wordpress.com/2009/03/27/spiritual-ego/

@Bruno Maybe just see what happens? What I'm hearing is that you're not really interested in enlightenment. So don't bother with it. Continue with conventional life, sex, career, whatever your desires are telling you to do right now. This enlightenment stuff is for those who have truly had enough of being a donkey for society.

@Cuzzo The tendency to "whack-off" is a way of avoiding emotional pain. Once you make the link between an emotion driving you to act out, you can quit the acting out and go head on into the emotion and feel it. Your symptom will then drop quicker than Eva Angelina's panties

@Christian You don't release them. You befriend them and let them speak what they are longing to tell you, in the here and now. They are trying to protect you from 'old battles' fought in the past. What would you do if you fought an old battle for your identity and all it did was try to "get rid" of you?

@Julio Escalera Julio. *Not intended as inflammatory* How can you talk about other peoples realities being made up while "you" are inside your own dream? Can you see the absurdity of your thinking? -

The more I tread this path, the more I get the sense that this manifest world is not intended for what conventional society thinks it is intended for. This world is a place to be to solve our issues. Nothing more. It seems to me that enlightenment is a process of getting OFF of the manifest realm, rather than making good of it. This has some links to reincarnation, I know of reincarnation conceptually, but for the first time it's making sense to me - I must be reborn into this nonsensical realm in order to do something. The biggest tragedy is, the vast majority of souls with me on this journey have no idea what this "world" is really for. They still think it's about creating some kind of life here, and that this life "matters". I would appreciate your thoughts on about this. P.S. This is not an intellectual insight, but an emotional one.

Right. So you lived in society whilst in "deep meditation" ?

Have you transcended your ego and are able to live without it? Just curious
