  1. I am trying to understand your logic, but one thing stands out to me, you are coming with a scientific explanation about thought, but no where in your statement is the term consciousness used. In your mind, where does consciousness play into thought, the actions of the physical body, and the reactions of the physical body. As for myself and my life experience, science and scientist have not touched what i have experienced, what i am and deal with is that, consciousness is the ground of all being, and all things proceed from consciousness itself, this is my living experience, I have yet to hear a single scientist define and explain consciousness from a living experience, its always by some scientific view held by scientist in their fields. I am not attempting to put down what you are saying, but after my experience with my own consciousness for many years, what you are trying to tell me sounds foreign to me, and doesnt even touch my life experience of self realization. Thanks for the reply.
  2. Now the question is, how many will make excuses rather than seeing the reality of charlie's quote.
  3. quote by charlie2dogs: Pretending to seek self realization by creating never ending topics dealing with issues of the human identity, instead of seeking self realization itself, will not produce self realization.
  4. mary the identity and ego will resist change, it is normal, you cannot worry about what others are doing, you have not seen the consequences they may have created for them, you are depressed because you have your eyes on them instead of the real you.
  5. I told you how to become self realized, ( To become self realized means that you are no longer a human identity. The core of your being is a creative, life giving, source of power, from which all material creation arises. To be self realized you are that and function from that.) As far as telling you how to make that transition, the only answer i can give you is this. Spend as much time in a state of oneness experiencing the core of your being as you can, take time to contemplate the core of your being, if the desire is there to reach your highest potential something will happen. You may actually begin to feel something within yourself pushing you into a greater awakening, Other things you can do is begin to drop your belief system, look at the programing you have received and the effects it has had on your life, examine your desires, to see what they may produce, will you be happy after getting them, will it allow you to live in a liberated state of being, experiencing peace, joy and love in your daily life. These last things are not necessary but, they will give you things to contemplate on, that will aid in your awakening and help prevent boredom. and give you an opportunity to see your own growth. The transition from the identity to the self is one you will do alone, and desire will be your biggest asset. This is as close as i can get to telling you how.
  6. the one thing i know is that, there is only one way to be self realized, yes i know you have heard there is a million ways, a million paths, did you ever consider that it may not be true. To become self realized means that you are no longer a human identity. The core of your being is a creative, life giving, source of power, from which all material creation arises. To be self realized you are that and function from that. All the thoughts and rules that have been applied to this by those without the experience are very limiting, and frankly worthless.
  7. I know you mean well, and so do i, it seems you have a lot of limiting thoughts in this, most of them will be holding you back a long time. Being self realized has nothing to do with where you live, has nothing to do with how long you meditate, or how much time you give to a practice, spiritual or not, and it is surely not about giving up anything. just some things for you to consider.
  8. so what it sounds like you are saying is that man's own thought process can be his worst enemy.
  9. I think you should begin to examine your own thought process and what it has done and is doing to you.
  10. meditation wont make you enlightened. There are millions upon millions of people practicing meditation in the world but it is a rare few that actually become self realized, and some of them do no meditation at all, a self realized being has no practice, the term spiritual or practice doesn't exist for a self realized being. So why is there so much emphasis put on a practice that only provide relaxation for most. The experience of self realization can happen without meditation. Why spend a lifetime working at practices and methods only to drop them all, after self realization occurs? Has human beings been programed and trained to perform in a way that may hinder their own awakening? Was religion an accident or was it a means to control the masses, was newageism an accident or a means of controlling the masses when they tire of religion? Programing and belief is preventing most from awakening, neither can exist in a self realized state of being.
  11. Bud i hate to be the one to tell you this but you arent going to be enlightened anytime soon.
  12. Jevin you have heard the saying, different strokes for different folks, well practices are the same, most adhere to what feels good to them, until you become self realized then there are no practices.
  13. sounds like you answered your own question, good luck
  14. I dont see the humor in this situation, it is apparent that this inner work that you are doing is producing nothing of value for you. Even a self realized being, which you are not, has a responsibility to care for and take care of themselves. Your problems are far more than you have revealed here. I am not going to try to make you feel better by this response, it is time you faced some reality about your life and what you are doing, and given what you have said here about your life, i suspect you need some real help, a real job, and begin to take better care of yourself and set some goals in life to at least get you to where you can care for yourself properly and maybe at some point inner work will begin to mean something that might be of value. This is straight up, and that is what you have needed for some time.
  15. if your passion dies after a week, month or year was it really passion or just some fanciful idea for a while. Real passion is a driving force that cannot be stopped until fulfilled, and it will continue long after maybe even for a lifetime. There are many opinions about what passion is, you need to ask those who have experienced real passion and lived it.
  16. if you are the observer and not the identity victim, there will be things that arise before you, that you can ignore, because it is of no value to you, and there will be things that arise that as observer you may see the reality of it and you may need to embrace it and learn from it, resolve the issue within yourself and move on with life, then you are freed from the quantum memory or a cleansing of the consciousness takes place regarding this issue, this cant be fully understood by the identity and ego spend some time with it.
  17. BABA mooji is right, and you seem to have a good understanding of the importance of it. As mooji would say let life live you
  18. I fully understand what you are saying, the plus side of it is you have a very good attitude about things, it will serve you well, good luck
  19. you are trying to be something that you are not, the spark is beyond your control, the spark happens because of what the other sees in you and feels about you and this happens on a deeper level. You can become a game player which will create a world of pain or you can get real and see what life brings to your door.
  20. when you have real passion for something, it is a driving force that will take you to completion, take you to success. if you cant do what you love in life what will you do, if you cant do what you have a passion for, where will the mundane physical world take you. The victors are the ones who recognize that passion and the passion wont accept defeat, it only sees victory, anything less is not real passion.
  21. it all hinges on your desire, what is going on in the world around you can sometimes be a catalyst for further growth and awakening. The one thing i remember most over the years was the desire i had for liberation from what i felt was the insanity of the world around me, and the feeling that i was imprisoned in this body of flesh. and now i feel like and am an invisible observer, somewhat disconnected from the physical world and my own physical body and identity of who i thought i was. to be able to function from the core of your being, and experience the creative power of that, the world nor the human identity will never experience it. to know that you are the creative life force instrumental in the creation of the universe and the world around you and even your own body, gives peace, security and joy unknown to human beings. go deeper within, it is there waiting for you.
  22. i see you are a new member, welcome to the site. To overcome insecurities, some try to do that by creating huge egos and some by believing things that are not true about themselves, in other words they create a false belief system that justifies what they are doing. But those will eventually create a world of pain and suffering for them and others. The only lasting solution is to love yourself, live with integrity, being secure within yourself. The only way to do that is get to know that real part of yourself, your core being, it is an all knowing, fully secure, all powerful source of power within you. This source of life created the universe and the world around you, it created the identity that you think you are. Seek this deeper part of your being, everything you need can be had from there, it is all right inside of you. Right now you are primarily functioning as the identity, the actor playing this little role in life, but what is behind that is what will give you the security and strength you need overcome all obstacles in life and then you can live and speak from a place of authority rather than as a victim called the identity.
  23. the reality of your question is this: you as the identity are not going to choose self actualization or enlightenment, your ego, programing, false beliefs, and the desires of the flesh body is not going to choose anything to disrupt that. The other part of that reality is this: it is if and when the consciousness begins to awaken that you may pursue these things. Now if that is happening in you, then you might add to the awakening by slowing down, taking time to reflect on what really is important in life, who and what you are, how you got here, what will happen when you leave, what is really important in the daily events of your life, contemplating these things opens doors to more perceptions and understanding. It is possible that the addictions of the physical body, the programing and false belief and ego can be so strong that it can resist the calling of consciousness that may be attempting to remember its true state of being. My advice to you or anyone else is this, if the voice of consciousness is calling , respond as much as you can, for continually resisting it may shut that door. There is no guarantee that everyone is going to awaken, that is a newage philosophy, and many believe that you will continue to live over and over until you get it right, but again, that is newage philosophy, there is no proof for any of that, once awakened you will discover that most of what is taught in the world has nothing to do with reality or the reality of your very own being. the number who actually becomes self realized or enlightened are very few. Most are not seeking enlightenment, they are seeking and into personal growth. The majority of topics on this site is about issues of the identity and resolving those issues, there will be no end to issues of the identity, the end game for the victors is liberation from the identity, ego, programing, false beliefs, and desires of the flesh. To do that one must become self realized, and that means becoming something other than the identity and all its failing attributes. Being self realized isnt about giving up anything, its about becoming another kind of being, and as that other being you will do what keeps you in liberation, It is entirely possible for one to finish out their existence here as a self realized being, finding happiness, joy, peace, love and living a constructive. These thing are for your consideration and contemplation, you cannot fully understand until after the experience of these things but contemplating them may open up some things for you.
  24. this is a very intelligent response.
