@Omar everybody's body chemistry is different, you can't really apply the same nootropics to everyone. you need to try them out yourself to see what works for you and what doesn't. And be aware you can damage your brain overtime or within a first use, they aren't risk free. For example, Alpha-GPC can make someone drowsy/sleepy within their intake or some other people experience headaches all day. While others find it as a good mood mild antidepressant like while it helps out their memory at the same time. Etc. Reason why it makes some people get headaches is because it gives in way too much choline as their brain naturally makes lots of it and doesn't lack any which causes them to feel the headache. While some people are lacking in choline which makes them sharper or happier. I'd recommend caffeine if you want something safe, just make sure your properly hydrated and use it twice a week. I'd also recommend a good diet with lots of veggies mainly, as that's the best you could give your brain in a healthy manner. And mainly the most important thing you should be doing is meditating everyday for an hour, that helps the most overtime. http://puu.sh/pTlz2.jpg I'm still experimenting with a bunch of stacks i've bought, I still did not update my list. http://puu.sh/pZKlA.JPG currently testing alpha gpc 50% 100 grams bacopa 250grams rosea (100grams) blue berry extract 25 grams ALCAR 250grams Micronized Creatine Monohydrate Powder (1kg) caffeine anhydrous powder (50grams) L-theanine 100grams Piracetam 250grams Black cumin 5lbs 2.5k empty gelatin pills size 00 2.5k empty gelatin pills size 0 Cap-m quicks with tamper both size 0/00 Will follow up a review later, if i don't overdose and die.

I think the money and interest will increase when machine learning / AI leads to greater unemployment. There'll be greater focus on actually using financial/research resources in way that will benefit everyone. SENS has so far made some good progress in helping some research transform into companies that will be evaluating therapies in humans: https://www.fightaging.org/archives/2016/02/the-sens-rejuvenation-biotechnology-companies/ With that insight being said, although speaking off a.i as a good thing, it seems like it can be bad just as a double edged sword , i feel like it may destroy wealth for the lower class as they can't get jobs. and education isn't free either unless if they study off stuff of the internet.. but then again where/how will they pay for their rent or even their tuition if they go to college/uni? sounds like world debt 2.0

I see myself analyzing the world quite often, I can't seem to be neutral on judging people. I always assign things to why a person behaves that way from being conditioned or so. I can't seem to just be neutral about it, I can accept some acts while sometimes i find myself revisiting a scenario of hey it didn't have to be that way. Why couldn't they be a little nicer it doesn't hurt them. Or if they speak in a certain way i'll try to guess their history, And then i move on deep thinking maybe it's just me overthinking I don't need their validation after all and i move on after i assign that thought or I don't need to over think about the person's history or to why they have and interact and have their choices be the way it is. But it still irks me on how i can't change the judging habit it's like an auto thing i have of being a typical human. Edit: Hell it even happens on this forum as i read through posts sometimes too. (including other places on the net) Family and So applies too.

@Mal thank you for your time, i'll read up on it. although i wouldn't really like to ditch meditation as scientifically it has quite some benefits that i'm after but takes time to build up so it wouldn't be a bad idea to combine the best of both worlds would it? If i manage to even understand or practice the concept.

@Mal Aww was expecting a video channel i could binge through, (I thought i knew most people are not really self aware so it's normal to see the auto go auto)But i'll take a look at charlie's post on the forum. Thanks for the heads up will give it a try. If you have anything you'd like to suggest here or via pm i'm open to that. Thanks for caring.

@Mal Got any sources to draw the me out of this? Meditating still needs a lot of time to build up or perhaps I'm still on the beginning of the journey i have a lot to learn. I'm aware of the concept although i did not know they were different.

@Mal transcendence experience as in enlightenment?
-
@Mal Hmm.. well said although since either way is neutral it's more like just the thought of knowing it's neutral and being more aware about it helps i guess.. But there is no way around blocking off life so i might as well continue some of the assignments and let go of emotional overthought as it all doesn't really matter heavily. It's actually quite hard to do so since having a dream is similar to a neurotic trait as we've assigned it as good. And if we can't seem to achieve it it'll automatically go as bad or wasted usually unless we pull of a scheme of it doesn't matter that much later. I find myself contradicting whenever i went deeper into enlightenment thoughts and really counter productive since i keep saying, It doesn't matter since it's neutral and it's all in the mind. It's just there for cherry picking. But what we/I/Ego cherry picks it's all the same in the end? The ego gets frustrated because it wants more, It needs to be important. It wants more noise more stimulation more distractions. It's never content with it's self.

@Mal I'm aware of this although, I find it difficult to stop over analyzing or assigning things in life. Even meditation does not seem to cure assigning thoughts in life since i'm still playing the role of working/paying the bills everyday/month while having free time for side entertainment purposes or self development activities . The only time i can see myself completely off the judgment may seem like if i actually turn or devote my life to be some sort of monk. Which my ego does not want to ever even consider since it wants more and more out of life.

khalifa replied to Greer's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Messing with your sensory perceptions with stimulants seems like just another distraction, regardless it's quite neutral . The mind clings on an idea of it being an answer which isn't the case.- 15 replies

I read about sri nisargandatta http://www.theself.com/sri_nisargadatta.cfm Apparently (not sure but I'm assuming) From reading his biography it took him 3 years to get his enlightenment state? I always thought it would take 10 or 20 years+. Although these views of existence like concepts can be understood somewhat with or without practice , Yet we'll forget them and continue on with the noise/illusions of the fake life we have in front of us. Biologically we aren't really robots to live without our emotions it seems like a bit ridiculous to do so. After reading/listening to what the meditation/awareness can be they seem more like a wanna be then an actual it, since we're just biological creatures we can't really go outside that box. I feel like it's just a stage of the brain being more stable by growing more of our hippocampus/cortex/cognitive areas. Don't get me wrong though, The idea of awareness is much better than buying the illusion that we all go by our biological instinct. Although it can't really be mastered since we live in the system. Unless if we try to unwire or somehow have the ability to unwire and rewire out current system. That is the only time where it may feel like we're getting somewhere even though it's not the perfect answer. It's much better than nothing. And humans are known to gain some skill in various fields they put time in perhaps this is one of them. An enlightenment state seems like it would be just another reprogrammed arrange of thoughts with a bigger working memory and a more self stable healthy brain. (Hey i'd personally go for this since it does sound like it has a lot of healthy thoughts both physically and mentally than your typical average human) Seems like meditation will always help growing the brain overtime so don't stress for those of you who are aiming for enlightenment, Just meditate often/regularly as you maintain yourself and improve on your brain health state both physically/mentally. I don't even aim for enlightenment personally i just want to pick up good habits with small increments overtime. Since i feel neutral about everything It seems better then wasting energy of worrying if I'll reach that state or not. If i do i do, If i don't it's fine either way. Remember be skeptic and critically analyze anything anyone says, perhaps I've gotten the wrong idea, I'm not claiming monopoly of truth over any of this. These are just my thoughts when i heard some of Leo's enlightenment videos and saw some other different sources, I tried to match them/marry them as some proof but all i got was this insight that came into my mind overtime. (thanks to the other scientific sources and the ted presentation) Edit Extra: Leo mentioned religious people can be enlightened too, which puzzled me back then since i thought we had to get rid of all our previous thoughts/dogma, Apparently cherry picking anything is still an option since life is just neutral. Which also led me to the above insight.

@vizual That is not really what i'm getting at, It's more of a we can't really change our overall human in the box aspect, We may be more immune to things over training over them. But it doesn't seem too perfect compared to the hype i've heard. Maybe i need to experience to truly judge perhaps it's too early. But it does sound like another illusion cherry pick.

@PiotrW try starting with a simpler one http://liveanddare.com/benefits-of-meditation/ http://www.scientificamerican.com/video/how-does-meditation-change-the-brai2013-10-30/ These 2 videos also relate to your emotional well-being as it goes deeper into exploring why you feel the way you do http://www.actualized.org/articles/how-your-mind-distorts-reality http://www.actualized.org/articles/grasping-the-illusory-nature-of-thought

@DizIzMikey There are plenty of people that talk about this kind of stuff for years, Yet some of them do nothing. Try not to be one of those that do nothing about it and make some or part of it happen. For now the proper approach for this to happen you need to more computing power. The current computing we have is a joke right now. Like stone age technology joke. VR will not happen with a mere 2-9TFLOPS of data. We need way more than that perhaps Even higher than petaflops/exa/zettaflops. Around Exaflops would be ideal for maximum efficiency. Next we need higher genetic engineering levels and neuro advances in research to make it happen (50-200 years, we know so little about the brain actually). There are some people working on all of the above already. But the milestone will be done slowly. It won't be around our lifetime when all of this happen. We will however experience moving onto graphene computing/molecular computing. Maybe a small chance to see a glimpse of dna computing or quantum computing in action. Quantum networks for 0 latency is possible too but the chances of it being implemented on our time seems very slim.

I've seen it a few weeks ago but i can't remember what it's called, Leo was talking about various filters / perspectives. And how a certain view of the world is with certain filters on. Not sure what it's called but it was quiet something. Trying to find it but i can't seem to find it since it's berried in my history somewhere. Any ideas?

@PiotrW Watch these two, it'll help
-
As simple as it sounds, You create your own problems because of your way of thought. Change your perspective and your emotions will change accordingly. Although changing perspective isn't done overnight it takes quite a while to change habits. Try meditating more often it'll help aid being more aware of yourself/thoughts.

We are programmed to think in certain ways, there is no way out of them. It is in our very genetic code of life, it's our algorithm that thrives us to move into wrong directions while placebo'd as real. Our distraction will stay as is, there isn't much of any meaning but that which we assign. Our brain is wired to think inside a box. We will never be able to think outside the box simply because we are not capable of doing so. Edit : Extra Think of a computer that is equipped with certain hardware. To see certain objects and has certain aspects equipped such as processing capabilities / RAM etc. Compare that to an animal. Let's say a dog has around 700mhz @ 4MB ram while a human is at 2ghz @ 32mb ram. Let's say we have a program that can run emotional response 2.0. The dog may be able to run it since it meet's it's requirements. While the human runs on v3.7. Etc etc you can speculate various forms of consciousness from here. Ones where are beyond your imagination. (v3.7 requires 900mhz / 7mb for example) It's similar to trying to run windows 7 on a 256ram pc with a pentium 1. It simply won't run or a program like gta v on that. It just can't handle it or process it. That is why we can't really see our flaws or go even deeper than our current limits. Let's say there are more than the current colors we see and name. We simply can't see them or they may be not part of our current physical world since we are in a box again. You can apply it on various aspects of how any living life code/conscious/unconscious thinking works. You can now go on and hit logic and even perspective in the same way, we definitely are missing a lot more than just sight/hear/taste for all we know there could be millions or billions of rules that we could life with but we aren't aware because we think and assign that this is the normal way as it should be. Hell maybe the current life algorithm isn't all that there must be more to it than just humanoid thinking.

lying is a neurotic act, you generally/ideally would want to get rid of all your neurotic traits

. (would actually recommend watching the whole god is in the neurons part since it's quite thought provoking) [there is a part where he speaks of left / right hemisphere as well )

These are the most notable videos I've seen on youtube, I hope you guys find them useful to peek your scientific curiosity about the universe we live in. This is just a slight highlight of michio kaku that made me laugh out Z

We are made from countless trillions of various cells either bone/nerve/red/white blood cells. And so are other animals/plants/fish/insects/bacteria/viruses . Do these all have their entities as well? Or are we all one big nothing..? No one can really answer it, but from observing it at this perspective, i feel like this enlightenment phase is just another self belief system. As any self/ego can be enlightened from any other religious background or view. Maybe it's just a higher state of analyzing life differently with a more like awareness view which causes another shed of illusion of dopamine peace? It doesn't seem that hard to believe with such working a different set of trained working memory or rewired anapalstic brain. But the distractions and illusions are real as we have so much noise made within our own source of living from either thoughts/blood rushing around/emotions as a being that we are it's natural that we will always have it so we can't really break out of it. No one can really think outside the box since we're programmed to be in a certain way regardless of our efforts, It's kind of sad.
