  1. What do you mean when you say "heart?"
  2. Two easy and powerful things I use to this day. 1)Every hour remind yourself that you are going to die, so be grateful that you arealive now. I found that it cut alot of bs from my life. As time is limited. 2)Remind youself that no one really knows what the hell is going on! Dont be afraid to say "I dont know" This just opens the mind into a more inquisitive thinking pattern.
  3. Thats interesting, I always meditate before my morning workout, might have to try to switch things around.
  4. "One day everything and everyone you know will be dead and buried." Remind yourself of this every hour. I saw this in a Sadhguru clip on youtube. So every hour I internally ( and sometimes out loud) yell "Praise the lord I'm alive!" It is this 30 second blast, along with a daily meditation routine that is helping me be more mindfull.
  5. I often think about what I would tell my 17 year old self. That would be enjoy yourself. Find that thing that makes you happy and get really really good at it. You can only eliminate negative emotions with happiness, so find that thing you love and do it.
  6. On youtube search fitnessblender beginner workout. An easy 20 minute workout with warm up and cardio.
  7. I guess you have to use it responsibly. If it has negative consequences then put it down. Since October I have drunk 5 times, doing shots of vodka alone in my bathroom. There is no chance of causing any long term damage, no fighting or driving. And I can feel the benefits. Its hard to recommend but if it works then keep on keeping on!
  8. I started meditating 9 months ago using nadi shuddi, and guided meditations from Sadhguru. In late October I started getting these strange experiences. It started with a walking mindfulness meditation, where 20-30 minutes in I started to really feel everything around me, the hardness of the concrete, the heat of the sun, the noise of the passing trucks. It all became overwhelming. I had to take a break from it all and ended up in a park. Deeper meditation made the colors vivid, and I could feel the plants, hear the bugs, people walking by were moving in slow motion. The weird thing is that it felt like it had been 15 minutes, but an alarm in my phone indicated it had been almost 3 hours. Although it is inaccurate the only experience that is similar was the psychadelic I had in college. But it wasnt quite like that either. I dont know what this experience is and would appreciate some insight.
  9. I find the nightime routine is the most important part. One of my goals for 2016 is to start waking up at 6:00. To avoid the pain I just went to sleep earlier Also to be honest, I would use redbull in the morning to give me a jumpstart to the day. Not the most healthy or long term solution, but I found that it can work.
  10. This is something that I have been working on this year. So it is a topic that has been in my mind for a while. 1. 6:00 am wake up. In numerous books the benefits of waking early have been written about. But it can be difficult at the beginning. So my morning routine actualy starts the night before where I make sure I sleep before 11:30. Also on difficult days coffee or redbull can really help. 2. Breakfast. This is something that will change, but right now it is plain boiled oatmeal no fruit, or milk or flavor. Just to get it down is an accomplishment as I dont enjoy the taste, but it sets a good tone for the day. 3. Planning in my diary. I am old school so actually have a daily planner that requires a pen. I will choose an inspirational quote fron Sadhguru, or Napoleon Hill and write it at the top of the page. Then plan the rest of the day. 4. Movement prep. A 30 minute warmup I developed from various sources. Stretching, jumping jacks, lunges, pushups etc. 5. Prayama/meditation. Nadi shuddi works well for me. 6. Shower. I want to follow the Wimhof method eventually and take cold showers, but right now I still just use regular warm water.
  11. For the past 18 years I have completly abstained from alcohol, but a few months ago I felt an urge to get hammered. So over the past few months I have been using alcohol as a tool to experience certain emotions. Sounds strange but as my inhibitions are lowered I allow myself to feel emotions that have been suppressed. Fear and anger, are two that I have deep issues with and alcohol allows me to delve deep and start to understand what these forgotten emotions feel like.
