  1. When did you decide to bit the bullet and go bald? Just wondering when my combover gets old...
  2. Okay lets play a game. Cut off your little finger or cut a branch from a tree? Is pain a difficulty? No problem you can use shot of pain killer. Easy choice? Why? Because there is value in your body, value that you created. It is not some external force that creates this value. You value it because you identify with your finger. All value is created because we identify with what we value. The trick is not only to recognize that it is only self created or just an illusion, and then negate it. The trick is to see that you control the creation of value and so can use it as a tool to make life more pleasent.
  3. Have you tried meditating in a sensory deprivation tank? You have spent millions of years perfecting your senses, and now you want to get rid of them? Maybe a little bit of outside help couldnt hurt.
  4. Last week there were violent protests in my city. Clashes with the riot squad, streets set on fire, the whole thing. I didnt know about it for at least 5 days until after the fact. Maybe this news blackout that I have created for myself is too extreme. Maybe a better balance needs to be found
  5. No, because existence as we understand it is based on space and time. Beyond that existence doesnt really have any meaning.
  6. When my bulldog has a full belly he is content. He lies on the floor, farts and falls asleep. When I have finished eating I have to find ways to express myself, then I have to think about a clean house by washing the dishes, put the dishes away, worry if I ate too much, consider changing my diet, think about whether I should run an extra mile to make up for that piece of chocolate cake I ate, yell at my son to take a shower....... Value is somthing I created. My son is more valuable to me than my dog. Because ultimately I am on "Team People"
  7. Black belt in Judo and Bjj Build a zen garden Write and produce a kung fu movie Open an art gallery Produce a hip hop album with my favorite artists
  8. Humans fly airplanes, talk on the phone, build gardens, write poetry, paint, explain. There is no limit, no boundary.
  9. I always preferred Wu-Tang over Nirvana. And I mean that both as a joke and as a metaphor.
  10. Dont admire the finger pointing to the moon. Focus your attention towards the moon.
  11. This a huge question that I has been in my mind for a long while. While I can create thoughts that explain away the problem. Emotionaly and on a subconscious level, there is this feeling that I must get better because I am inadequate. Leos had a great line "I love and accept you just the way you are"(sorry if its a misquote.) Which has really helped me create a much more balanced approach to my faults. But deeper thoughts still come through. I want that black belt in the martial art I train because I am not good enough now.
  12. What keeps you tied to this earth? Your ego. What makes you so sure that once the ego has been moved passed you can find it again and put the mask back on? How can the ocean remember the drop of rain it once thought it was? Ok wait sorry that sounded guru ish. But what if the moment you reach true enlightenment you no longer want to be part of your body or the grand illusion. What if its an evolutionary step and wanting to return to it would be like us returning single celled organisms?
  13. I remember a story from Sadhguru. One of the first yogis to US was a very simple, uneducated and fat man who had an intense desire to eat. Even during long talks he would turn to his wife and ask"what is cooking?" Though he was a highly enlightend master he had this intense desire to eat. As far as I understand over 90%of humans who reach enlightenment, at that moment leave the body. It is only through intense desire and training that the illusion can continue. The yogi had no formal training so created a burning desire for food to keep inside his body. So from my perspective, the enlightend beings who are alive have made a truly conscious decision to stay alive.
  14. There is no point in meditation, no results, no answers. We meditate to meditate.
  15. Desire is the only thing keeping you tied to this existence.
  16. I believe it was a podcast with Ram Dass and Duncan Trussell where they said large doses of lsd or psylocybin mushrooms were like an express elevator to enlightenment. But you couldnt get off you could only gaze at the party.
  17. I have always liked Leos videos on finding your life purpose. Most adults havent quite figured that out, maybe try to add that in. But really inspiring stuff there.
  18. I use this word grind alot. After my son and nephew finish their homework, I have a,"grind" session, literaly call it the grind. Here they each have to do an extra 50 math questions. They are easy questions but it is about building mental strength to embrace the extra work needed. The same goes for the martial arts where they have to throw each other an additional 25 times at the end of practice. Essentially my view is that the grind is never going to be "enjoyable" it is where discipline and heart take over from enjoyment In my view if it is fun it is not part of the grind.
  19. I call the third guy so that I can have enough money to pay the fourth guy for the pills. Then call the first guy to help workout so that when I hang out with the second guy I look good. Then on Sunday I call the fifth guy to confess all my sins!
  20. I have re written this post a number of times. Something you wrote touched something within me and I couldnt quite figure it out. You view your self development work as more important than the relationships that you have. Yet for me my family and friends are much more important. I would rather miss a yoga class and be with a loved one. I would prefer to help a family member get closer to enlightenment then for me to reach full enlightenment. It is all a grand, spectactular, illusion and I want to experience it with those I love.
  21. I watch her with the same interest that I watch infinite waters, and spirit science. The new age crystals and merkabah and atlantis are fun ideas that I get to play with in my mind, but I dont take it so seriously. The truth is she is another talking head on youtube with some information that is relevant to my life and some that isnt. But dont you pass all the talking heads through a bs filter first? I cant think of anything, but I am sure there is stuff that I dont agree with Leo on.
  22. Take a year off and travel. If you arent sure about what to do then spend some time working on yourself and your passion. You are young with nothing really tying you down, go have an adventure, go have some fun.
  23. I quit law school in my final year, and even though I never had a use for it, it has been one of my few regrets. 2 more years isnt that much, but the sense of accomplishment may last a life time. Not to mention the real world uses.
  24. I may be immature in my approach, but the truth is I am having way too much fun in the park!
