It's what folks like Prahlad Jani (people who possess the siddhi of inedia) live off of. Supposedly the pineal gland is a little factory which transmutates life energy or prana into the "nectar." -

The videos of him using powers are interesting. But I think the videos of him speaking are better; he gushes genuineness, from my perspective. Yes, 100% I think it is legitimate. -

@Arman Yogananda gave the best explanation I can think of. Thoughts have the potential to affect reality on a metaphysical level, but only a yogi who has really mastered his/her mind can do it with confidence. -

I guess you could say that the Answer is always within us, but what we're seeking is the Question- 13 replies

@stevegan928 thank you, too. Most of us on this form are learning by teaching, myself included .- 13 replies

@stevegan928 your complete lack of resistance will be what makes it a deep experience. Resistance is what will make it just a "little" experience.- 13 replies

I don't even understand what just happened. I set my timer for 1 hr. The first 30 minutes felt like just regular meditation. I glanced at the clock, decided I needed to start questioning harder. Then stuff got crazy, almost like I was high. Started screaming my questions at the top of my lungs, running around, bumping into the fridge . (Only a few minutes post experience, currently.) i feel like I tricked myself, but I tricked myself into something I've never experienced before . -
Something a little sobering happened to me while watching a video review for a video game called" The Witness." The gist of it is that "The Witness" is a very atypical, indie, so-called walking simulator game where you solve puzzles, and it has some spiritual themes. Towards the end of the game, there are 5 videoes to watch, highlighting 5 different view points. One video was of a guy named Rupert Spira. The reviewer basically said that his video was the worst, -and that it was probably included to demonstrate someone who is "obviously crazy"and "cultish." When I watched the video on my own, it turned out that it was literally just basic Vedanta philosophy. That said, I didn't watch it all because it was pretty boring;stuff I've already heard a dozen times. So, there it is. Something I've always kind of expected, but now have tangible evidence for: most people think we are crazy. ps: its a pretty good game, if you like puzzles, or if you want to see someone putting video games and spirituality together in a meaningful way.

@Arman you're right. I got a little arrogant. -

@Costa7 yeah, well, I myself don't really care. This post was more of just a word of caution to those who do; people, even people very close to you, may start to think you're off your rocker, and you'll just have to deal with it. -
Maybe others can relate. there was a time when I was a boy of about seven or eight, and like any child I was very open minded. Fascinated even at that young age my spirituality and such. I remember then that I really had two great sources of spiritual understanding: 1. Catholic school 2. The media... ghost shows... fantasy video games... etc. i never thought for a moment that ghosts weren't real, and occasionally I could reconcile catholic religion class with my true interests by watching a documentary on history channel about exorcisms, or something. in kindergarten or third grade or something I remember telling my friend about how god wasn't a person like us, but was nature itself; he didn't get it. once I was at a sleepover and decided to perform voodoo magic on my sleeping buddy (I learned about voodoo magic from my favorite video game, pirates of the Caribbean online). I was always a freak, but I managed to live in both worlds, and was a nice, popular boy with big plans, like being a zookeeper or a chef when I grew up. I had a giant awakening to alternative religions when I was in 8th grade (I'd stopped trying to hex my friends by then, thank god). A friend of a friend introduced me to wiccan magick and psychedelics that cause you to leave your body. I was with my close buddies when this happened, and we were all a bit freaked. I began to watch spiritual YouTubers pretty soon after that. I think my first spirit video was infinite waters' out of body experience video. I discovered actualized.org fairly quickly, and thought it was pretty cool. One thing led to another over the course of a few years and now I meditate every day. Its ironic because I was starting to let go of my weirder childhood beliefs in favor of "real life" and practical spiritual habits. Then leo made 4 videos on psychedelics and another on seeing ghosts and aliens when you meditate. I guess there's a legitimate place for weird things. Shit.

In regards to the nice and popular boy with big plans. I've generally been conviced that I could achieve big things. I think my life purpose is to help others on the spiritual path. At 14 there was this realization that I was onto something special within myself. I was questioning deeply the regular assumptions such as physical reality, the desire for money, and all the negative states people assume are just par for the course of life. I figured I'd be an actor in groundbreaking films about the human condition, to be honest.

They all communicate telepathically, even the "dead" ones! Im only partially joking. -
Let's say the miracles performed by certain holy people are real... I am not asserting the truth or untruth of these things because I simply don't know... But if they are real, do they break the currently suspected laws of physics?

Read slaughterhouse five. There is no death as such, even in the physical sense. Past present and future exist simultaneously. or even better, try an entheogen and experience ego death.

Thanks guys.

It's not. It's just that people will be in great pain as a result, and pain is another attachment that'll keep you from getting to the point of existence. You're not exempt from this; unless you're a sociopath killing someone will fuck you up.

Just do things which help both. Like one of sadhguru or nithyananda's yoga camps. They're called inner engineering and inner awakening respectively. And there are plenty of other things along the same line. When I get out of high school, it's what I think I'll try to do a bit of. -
So, as many of you know, public school in America starts about this time every year. I'll be going into the 11th grade, and I was wondering how valuable the information I learn in the classroom is. I am taking AP (college level) chemistry, physics, english, and US history classes, so what I'm learning will be a little above the regular curriculum, but I'm still curious as to whether learning about these things from school will serve me in self-actualization. Because, if not, then I'm considering switching to some easier, less time consuming regular classes.

Maybe in a thousand years. But, first, as Leo stated, science needs to understand consciousness- and it doesn't appear to be this generation's bunch of atheists who will figure it out. "Science advances one funeral at a time." - Max Planck

From the article, "Family Matters- Sadhguru Speaks About His Family" For some reason we could not complete the consecration at that time. So on that full moon day, she sat with a group of people, meditating. Eight minutes later, she left, without any effort and with a big smile on her face. She was at the peak of her health, just thirty-three years of age. It is not easy to leave like this without causing any damage to the body. Just walking out of your body like you drop your clothes and go is not an ordinary thing. When a person has reached that point in his life when he feels everything that he needs is fulfilled, and there is nothing more to see in his life, he drops his body, willfully. If there is any struggle or injury, it means suicide. When there is no struggle, when somebody just walks out like he walks out of a room, that’s Mahasamadhi. Once a person leaves like this, that person is no more. When somebody dies, you say they are no more, but that’s not true. They are “no more” the way you know them, that’s all. But once a person leaves in full awareness, shedding the body without causing any injury or damage to the body, that person is truly no more. That person doesn’t exist as a being anymore. They have just melted away, the game is up, completely. For all spiritual seekers, Mahasamadhi is the ultimate goal – the very culmination of their sadhana to dissolve into Divinity. -
The only philosopher here I am familiar with is Nietzche, who I believe helped to come up with existentialism. So, basically, all existentialism says is that there isn't a point to life; in no context would I call that pessimism. I mean, if there was a purpose, it would be completely arbitrary.

Thank you. But why do people talk of "enlightenment experiences" and "nondual experiences?" Like how in your psychedelics video, you talked about how you could actually feel the nonduality. Is there a difference between enlightenment itself, and an enlightenment experience?- 28 replies

Since all these things occur within your consciousness, it does not matter if it's scientifically real, or not, because it is part of your experience. So, I'd say it's real, or at least as real as anything physical is! Adept projectors can reach nondual states by "ascending" through the highest vibration astral planes, so yes, I'd say AP is a valid path to enlightenment.- 28 replies
