I think I am mindful about what I am eating. It doesn't help me though. I think it's probably compensation for something that I don't get. Emotional crutch at times. In fact, being aware of the reason helps more, I believe. The overeating and eating unhealthy or addictive stuff can have several reasons, I notice. First, you might be just all hungry and there's no other food around so you binge on unhealthy (of course, you might have cooked something healthy, but you feel lazy and already super hungry so you go for the fast solution). Second, it can be because you are doing something you don't actually like, i.e. something you force yourself doing. So to compensate for it you start eating stuff that tastes really good.

What type of vegetable juice? I actually think it might make me want more food. I might have to try to know for sure. I doubt I am dehydrated - I drink lots of water throughout the day. I carry a one litre bottle with me everywhere.

I am almost ignorant in regards to nutrition. OK, I do know the basics, like the fact that clean plant-based diet is better in most ways than the animal one. I am a vegetarian (except I eat fish sometimes, suggested by my doctor) for a couple of years now and because of the lack of proper research and knowledge, I got in some trouble. Long story short, some of my hormone levels went down. To give some more details, my diet includes lots of fruits. In fact, I notice now that when I eat a fruit it makes me crave more of it. Like I would eat 5 apples a time or 3 bananas in the morning. So I am wondering if I actually became sugar addicted because of that? Another thing, it's hard for me to feel full for a long time. In fact, I eat quite big portions of food. Though, usually the food is rather light. So what would be examples of food that you eat and that make you feel good, but also satiated for a long time?

If you are in a relationship, why have you chosen to be in one? Have you thought about it? I was thinking about this today, because I am seeing a guy right now and I want to make sure this doesn't lead yet to another dead-end. The answers I've found for myself: 1. feeling of relatedness 2. sharing the moments together 3. having fun & supporting each other at unfortunate moments in life 4. sexual aspect The order in which I've put the above isn't necessarily connected with the importance or intensity. For example, the sexual attraction is at its height right now. I must also mention that there are some fears that motivate me to pursue a relationship. For example, the pressure of having kids. And the fear of being lonely on the weekends.

Could you tell us what exactly do you eat for breakfast then?

Interesting, indeed. I've never heard of this before. Has there been done any actual scientific study on this matter?

@Michael569 Will do that, thanks for suggesting! Probably adding them to a salad is the easiest. Do you btw add any salt to them? The canned ones are salty, which is sure not healthy. However, it makes them that much tastier.

I love cardio. I do it in all forms possible: dancing, body combat, kickboxing, interval training, etc. There's so much that you can try. You can never get bored, really. And it makes you feel great too! I do cardio at least 2 times a week for an hour. I also understand the importance of strength training, which I seemed to ignore for some time. I do strength training once a week. Then I go swimming, which relaxes my muscles and it feels great overall. You feel like you are flying after it Pilates is another one that I turned to again after my recent wrist injury, because I couldn't really do anything else. I also do stretching or yoga every morning for 10 minutes. And sometimes 4 minutes Tabata workouts. My favorites: dancing, body combat and swimming!

Regarding the canned beans. Here are the can contents: red kidney beans, water, sugar, salt, modified maize starch, antioxidant (ascorbic acid). 100 grams of the beans carry 111 kilocalories.

Fats make digestion harder. Although I have to agree that you have a point. The key is probably the balance. I don't want to eat too many fats either. And it's hard to know what is the right amount. Regarding nuts, they don't make me full at all! I've tried eating like 10, even 15 of them and their effect is minimal. Eating salmon has an immediate satiating effect, even though there's other side effects to it as @Michael569 already mentioned. Eating avocado also doesn't make me full (tried with eating one whole avocado).

Milk and banana? And also peanut butter? For me personally that would definitely result in huge bloating I could of course replace the bananas with something else, maybe cocoa? But that's also too stimulating I think.

Somewhere I've heard (I believe it was on a TED talk about sugar) that we shouldn't get hungry when eating the "right food" only after two hours of having a meal. It was said that we should be good for 4-5 hours after eating. There's so many opinions on how we should feel that I am getting lost! I do exercise. I recently had a surgery so my regular exercise routine was challenged. The minimum is 2 hours of intense workouts (cardio and/or strength) and walking during the day for around 2 km. Then I go swimming once a week too (750 m swims usually). I will most definitely check out the book, thank you so much for suggesting! Btw, I checked the canned beans contents and it seems it doesn't contain anything too bad. I think. I will list the contents tomorrow, it's mostly some antioxidants, salt and the beans.

Love the idea. You must have courage to do something like this. I am still dealing with the fear of being alone for the whole weekend. It would be simpler though if I would go elsewhere, I mean visit a new place. I believe your plan sounds wonderful. Even though I would probably go nuts by noon if I don't really do anything. Or so I think. Swimming, walking, hiking, that's what I would do probably.

That makes SENSE! I will look into the candida cleanse diet and also into low GI products. Thank you so much @Awomanaware ! And you are totally right. Because of these hormonal imbalances I am not even able to have kids at the moment. I am going through a hormonal therapy right now, taking pills every single day :/. I might be actually more prone to this than others, of course. It seems my body needs fat stored on my belly to be able to have any kids Which is disgusting. But so it is...

I notice the issues right away - bloating and gases. Maybe some people are less sensitive to this than others. So for me it's a no-brainer. I guess I would have to skip sweet fruits altogether. Regarding the beans, I think it's still fine to use canned if it's not every single day? Otherwise, this becomes too complicated. Or at least in the beginning. I've actually noticed how today I ate whole lots of beans at lunch (even though skipped the breakfast) and then after like 2 hours felt hungry again I'm becoming kind of desperate because of these cravings. Will keep researching. Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

Thanks a lot @Michael569 for your post! Very helpful. A few more questions: 1. Why do you think that canned legumes should be avoided? 2. Which fruits are low GI, I actually thought all of them are. 3. I think nuts and sweet fruits do not combine well. I would expect digestion issues. From my experience. 4. Even though I have been eating tons of fruits I actually notice I don't get extra weight don them. Or at least not much. If I eat two snickers I am positive that I would notice the change immediately.

Had a huge omelette and some salmon in the morning! Ooh, that was satiating!

Please do share more details, I would be mos def interested! Related to your question, I would say it's individual. I try not to eat anything after 20.00. Else I'm going to have a stomach pain. I have a mild gastritis. I also feel much better if I follow the rule.

Hmm, I know the combination of peanuts and bananas is super tasty, but do they actually combine well from the digestion point of view? Not according to the above figure on food combining. I stopped combining those couple of years ago exactly because of this.

I find that the cabbage can cause bloating and isn't as easily digested as lettuce, for example. Loved your tips, but how about something for vegetarians?

Then I am a man too. I think gossiping is not specific just to women. There's guys out there who gossip. I know some. I would say it comes down to your level of development and not gender.

Around here, in Finland, one meal eaten out is at least 10 euros. So I am asking, is 10 pounds enough? I think if you prepare everything yourself, it might be enough.

Just give it a shot and ask her out.

So I've just recently got an (very important!) insight. I had an accident while ice skating and broke my wrist quite badly. Had to go through a surgery too. But that is not the point. I've been on a sick leave, even though still doing work here and there. The point of the story is that I've just realized how does my job make me feel. Besides making me feel drained, I also feel highly unmotivated to do anything after work. I mean anything that I even love to do (reading, blogging, learning new things in my field). The reason for this I believe is that it puts me into some kind of unconscious state. And I am not sure whether that's the people around me or something else, but the effects of it are so clear. I wonder if anyone else has experienced it? At first I thought that it's just me being tired after work, but I've realized that that's not it. It's specifically the state of being less conscious that makes me feel and behave in this way after the work. Any ideas on why would this happen and what is to blame?

In fact, I am not even sure how could I be sincere with those around me. How do you explain someone that they aren't doing things right in your opinion? It's a combination: people who have different values, social pressure and the work might be not as fun as I think it could be.
