@Leo Gura I see... Very interesting. Everyone can experience and know the truth, whether "good" or "bad". But the people I know to have had those experiences seem to act in such a manner that I could never imagine them acting or reacting so negatively. They don't seem to feel the need to share their experience the way these people in the forum do, rather violently. The people I know to have experienced enlightenment and that are truly wise are cool and confident in their approach to answering even ignorant questions, with a smile on their face. Why should you be negative and aggressive toward the fantasies of less aware people? It seems wrong, to me it seems unenlightened, at that point I believe there is more work to be done. -

My deepest meditations come from feeling my body and its deaths imminence, just feel your heart beating, your lungs inhaling and know this machine is not built to last. Then in that slightly anxious state, feel yourself, your embodiment and some of the most profound moments can be triggered through that. Try it mayne.- 36 replies

@vizual I can't claim that much, but I do think that through my perspective I can see the attachment of ego in people that claim to let go of it. This may be true. I made this post in a haste and it should have been mainly aimed at helping newcomers and people that really want to become enlightened. Rather it was angrily putting down those people I found to be giving off that negative intent. Unwise in my part, but I also wanted those people to hear something blatantly "true" and maybe even a little aggressive so that they could think back at themselves. Well of course, we always judge people, whether good or bad. I do not see how me being from an outside perspective looking at forum posts and replies that I myself are not attached to could relinquish my ability to judge. This is my perspective of things and I wanted to share it. Thanks for this response though, got me to rethink my post and my intents here. Harsh but crucial. -

@Mal It's good that you responded, it was actually a post that you replied to that prompted me to create this post. What views exactly? My view in this case is that people who have enough time to ridicule and make posts with negative intent are just as enlightened as some kids here that has just began meditating. I also believe that we all know nothing, until we dont, until we become enlightened, and even then it is no longer "knowing", so there should be nothing to show. I don't see anything angry about that at all. I do not know anything about the nature of reality or consciousness. I do not like how some more enlightened folk are looking down on people and causing harm through words. To me someone that would be enlightened would not have negative intent or be so pompous about their enlightenment. That is why I created this topic. True, I practice this yes. -
If we would be able to create worlds like that I think it will most likely be used first and foremost for scientific research. Then after years of having this open technology maybe it would be launched into the market. So no, it would not be primarily used for entertainment, that will be the secondary outcome of this new found technology, like Philip said having this ability would be massively beneficial for the entire scientific community aswell as the human race as a whole when trying to answer huge questions about our existence.

(Dont know how to delete these quotes :P). Several years?! buddy, I think its going to take a little longer than 2-3 years to reach enlightenment especially at your stage of life man. This is something that progresses extremely slowly, many never even reach enlightenment. Anyways, enlightenment is also akin to dying so I would not rush the fact . Good luck on your indie game though, hopefully it turns out great :)!

@JevinR Well if you had knowledge in one of those fields and a bit of capital you could assemble a team for that. But yea, I do see something like that being created in the future. Video gaming so realistic it feels like a hyper realistic lucid dream.

If you want any of that to even be possible you need to hop on the computer science bandwagon and start studying your ass off man!

Thank you everyone for your responses. I take all these into consideration now. I get it, I get that people do need this to help them begin their journey. BUT, is it really necessary to consume any more once you reach a certain point? I feel as though after a while of reading all of this self-help, watching the videos and especially Leo (I have watched almost every video and implemented a lot of his ideas into my life), it seems I only continue consuming because it gives me a sort of rush, like a mental masturbation as Leo would say. This is why I have chosen to continue my journey on my own terms, all my answers I can see lie within me, and If I can not trust that then how can I live my life on my own terms ever. I just hope, for those that reach a certain point in emotional development and self-actualization that you can begin to remove the training wheels and start living fully for yourself. Personally after I stopped consuming personal development and actualization material of any kind, I have felt more aligned with my own intentions, more free and better off altogether. This is all I wanted to share, it may be that I am missing something by abandoning the material, but I will see what happens as this is my own life, and my decisions are what make it up no one elses. Later on I might come back if I become lost and lose the plot, but before that this break from consumption and time of doing and producing I will enjoy fully

@Leo Gura Alright Leo, I get that. But I do not think a lot of people get it. You can not be truly free, living within the confines of ALL of this, this entire actualized movement. The amount of information and living ideologies you give out are enormous, too many people here can not see beyond it. I think it is a huge hindrance to becoming aligned with your "true-self" the free self, when you within the confines of another persons view on life. There is a point that all of us that follow Leo here need to let go, this should be at a point where you have already let go of all other lesser more cookie-cutter self help programs, pop culture media, and everything else. And learn that you are the ultimate power in deciding how and why you live your life. True freedom comes from this place.

I do not want to systematically "tackle" my life. Sometimes I am completely put off by Leo by how boxed in and how strategic his approach to life is. Happiness is not something you strategize to achieve. Living your life to the fullest is not, journaling, planning, strategizing, pondering always about who you are, sitting in your room in the corner trying to do "enlightenment work". I mean, it just seems to me silly that you think you can align yourself with your truest fullest version by using a blueprint made by someone else. You are basically wiring your brain with the patterns Leo has chosen to perceive HIS life. This is just my own opinion as of recently and I would strongly enjoy reading some responses to this. I would like to thank Leo for getting me this far in life and emotional development but I have to say goodbye to his videos as I do not see much more benefit than harm that could happen from proceeding on this addicting journey with Leo.

So recently I found that enlightenment and/or awakening is not some happy-go-lucky process and that this journey seems to promise to be a lifelong challenge and is most likely to be the most difficult thing anyone could even wish to accomplish. The thing is I have just recently began my journey toward actualization, self improvement, and molding a life that I can be proud of. I wanted to work hard, succeed in school, gain knowledge, build powerful relationships and create amazing lasting experiences. This all sounded like an amazing and fun plan for myself, then Leo hit me with enlightenment like a truck. First I saw it as a nice little side thing to have while im gaining all this success. I thought that I would work hard on all my endevours of life and have meditation on the side with self-inquiry, hoping to steadily work on becoming enlightened while I was also actualizing. Then I found, through really looking deeply into what enlightenment is, that this is definitely not possible. Not only will this journey take up a big part of my life, to actually awaken this thing will have to literally kill the life I believe I am supposed to be living. Goodbye self improvement, goodbye "success", money, women, relation, enjoyable and intense "experience". It will all be wiped away by the warm "acid grace" of enlightenment. So truly I do not know what I want. Right now I still have this ignorance, I could just hold on and let myself go with egoic pursuit and create an amazing actualized life Leo talks about. Then again I know that true freedom will only come with enlightenment. I wish that somehow I could combine the two, because in Leo's video he said that with self-actualization work self-transcendence should be able to seep in and somehow coexist with actualizing and work together to create a both beautiful AND divine life. To me I do not see how that could be possible. So if anyone could help me, how can I combine these two? And if it isn't possible what path should I take?

@charlie2dogs Great response! So I should let myself continue my journey in life, not necessarily needing to stop attaining knowledge and exterior growth. Let those happen and while this process, use meditation or other practices to keep myself humbled and in the grace of realization. Addition: And you are saying that it is not in-fact counter-intuitive to work on personal growth with enlightenment. I do feel though once I am self-realized all my growth success, money, knowledge will all lose a lot of their importance in the grand scheme of things .
-
@charlie2dogs Hmm I see. Well like I said im still ignorant, and I feel like when I continue immersing my mind into life and development my ego grows and there is less and less peace. Maybe I need to separate myself more from the activities of life and my thoughts so I can always realize myself.

@Corte Thanks for the response. I definitely need to take into account simplicity as a virtue.

MarkusR replied to Parki's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Parki You are not ready yet. Understand that enlightenment does not require any faith, just radical open mindedness. The truth will become apparent to you once you really, truly work on opening your mind beyond limits you are comfortable with. Listen, it may feel like you are this entity that is "you", because you identify every experience you have with that being. But as you look closer and closer you see that this identity is just a construct of your imagination and the "you" can not be placed or pictured to be anywhere. I can not explain what the self is, because it is unexplainable. It is easy for me to tell you that you are awareness, but unless you actually "experience" that which you are right now, that explanation is worthless. So I suggest to you to keep meditating, dont hold on to beliefs, rather open your mind to destroying each and every one of those beliefs. What is left soon after this journey of "destruction" is truth. -
@charlie2dogs Dude, Salaam has a point here. You cant just pull the "oh your just an ego" card. He has some very valid points about balance and true understanding. His criticism seemed constructive and genuine. You can not fully develop if you let yourself be blind to your own shortcomings, so take it as a sign that I as well am taking Salaams side and try to confide it in yourself to either constructively object to his claims with proper argumentation, or self reflect for a moment and notice that you may be in the wrong for once.

Haha in 20 years this forum will be packed! We will probably have some virtual emblem that says "veterans" and we will help guide future actualizes with the problems that we face today

@Hristi Awesome! Great that you have already made those improvements, im also learning the guitar . Seems like you are well on your way man, think the next step is just meditation, for real it will give you the greatest and most powerful growth over anything else.

Hey whats up man! Fellow 16 year old here. So sick to see more young people developing themselves. Ill tell you about my journey so that you can get an idea on how to change your life, and get yourself on this roller coaster ride of amazingness toward self-actualization! My journey began not by watching any videos or reading anything, but a sudden realization and mind state shift. I dont know exactly what I was doing but for some reason I realized that Im going to die one day, and that this earth, everything thats around me truly is life. It is not here to be judged, fought for or anything in between but to be experienced. It is not the first time I have been faced with my own mortality, but this time I had looked at it from a different perspective, not through the eyes of fear but just knowing. I suggest for you not to get confused because there are a lot, and I mean A LOT of ideas and philosophies that try to explain life, human nature and meaning. In the end it is only up for you to decide these things. Where to start? Well, I started by reading a bunch of self help books and listening to speakers. I suggest you do the same, if you dive too deep too soon I fear you will be too confused and doubtful and you may run into complications because you have not handled the lower level problems like low drive, procrastination, confusion about life in general and what you should be doing. Take baby steps! One by one start implementing habits that you believe will improve your life, for example; doing more homework, reading books, socializing more etc. Then after you handle those simple things the engine will hopefully have started and there is no way to stop the drive. You will find out soon after that there is a lot more to learn and understand here, and at this point you can begin to look at the more deep, abstract problems that you must face in order to become self-actualized. Hope this helps to begin your journey, lets lead this generation to victory!
