Yes, as soon as you stop bullshitting and actually have a genuine desire to realize the truth, rather than this concept of a set ”path” that you need to go through. The truth is everpresent, it is RIGHT NOW. Once you’re inquiry starts sounding more like ”What the fuck is this experience?”, ”Where am I?”, ”Who am I?”, with emphasis on genuine curiosity, wonder and absolute concentration on the present moment, then u’ll start making significant progress! -
Im 18, and I have no obligations until the beginning of 2019 when i have to leave for mandatory military service. Until then I am literally free to practise and excersize whatever I want. If you had this opportunity at 18 what would you do? What advice would you give to yourself. Excited to see some eye-opening answers :).

@The Don @Nahm Thank you, meditation is already my preliminary choice! @Quanty That's an interesting suggestion. I'll definately consider that, I have an opportunity to be in a quite isolated home away from the city. I am planning to use that as a place to do something similar to what Leo is doing now, I still need to build up a lot of discipline for that though.

Ram Dass has once said that he gave Maharaji, his guru, 4 tabs of acid which he saw him clearly consume. Absolutely nothing happened, he didn't seem to freak out or anything. He said something a long the lines of, "this medicine allows you to visit god, but only lets you stay there for 2 hours", "it is better to become god yourself". -

@Ether Same here, rapping and producing is one of the few things I can do for hours on end without losing focus or energy, just pure flow. Wouldn't want to ruin something like that by attaching it as an identity or a career path. And either way, even if you are not looking for money or fame, wouldn't you like to perfect your craft as much as possible? -

@AdamDiC @AMS Thanks, im glad you guys enjoyed :D. Ive been rapping for like 2 years AMS. And @Ether I think there are a few things you could do to improve your raps, like for example have you ever considered rapping in your mother tongue? Also working on mixing and mastering your vocals so it doesn't sound so crunchy or purchasing a better mic could make your raps sound a lot more pleasant to the ears :). -

Awesome seeing more conscious people getting into rap! We definately need more of it in our culture haha ?. this is my soundcloud: https://m.soundcloud.com/markustheavatar Most my raps are centered around self-actualization and enlightenment. -
I wanted to create this thread where we can discuss ways in which we can supercharge our growth, both in the direction of enlightenment, as well as self actualization. Weather it be mental, physical, or spiritual growth, any methods, techniques or tips that you have could be shared here for everyone. Hopefully this thread can help us all grow at an accelerated rate and get this community running even better. My first tips are: 1. Consistency. (in all practice, especially meditation) 2. Complete honesty toward yourself. (about where you are on this path, what you need to do, and which problems and bad habits you need to face and overcome) 3. Consistent sleep schedule. (Having this inline allows energy levels to skyrocket, especially if you are not used to having one)

Here's some of the stuff I have been working on. Got a long way to go in terms of flow and production, but hopefully the words inspire you to break all limitations.

I have had my most potent awakenings on psychedelics. All of them felt at the time as full enlightenment of the Truth, but none of them stuck past the trip. After a while it seems like a crutch to keep taking them. On the plus side, those experiences have helped me navigate my meditations in sober consciousness a great deal. I no longer need methods provided by teachers or formal practices, I can instead take a very direct and personal approach through following what I followed during those trips to reach the highest states. -

@Quanty A small kid won’t give two f-ks about meditation and inner-work . They are too busy blissing out being children. What we adopt as falsehood is our entire cultural matrix, the way our culture views life/death, conciousness, materialism, god etc. When a child starts getting curious, we should be in a society where we dont give half-baked answers to deep questions. As a society and culture we should accept, embrace and cultivate our knowledge into deeper aspects of the human experience, our dimension. From our outlook alone the kids will begin to understand, and their journey will become less tedious than the generation before them. I already see it happening, the fall of religious ideology was the first step. -

@Saumaya You make sense. But that irritation and annoyance at Manor you feel may be the opportunity for you to expand your ability to teach and open people up. Right now Manor is being stubborn, but that may be a key part in his journey, at some point we must all become stubborn and disregard outside speculation to continue our very personal search for truth. With his devotion I am sure more insights will come over and humble him. -

@Saumaya I think you must self-reflect. You allow Joseph Maynor to annoy you because you have a superiority complex against him. I understand you, I believe Joseph Maynor is also on his own trip. He has a firm BELIEF that his truth about the unchanging is the final stage, I certainly dont believe hes even completely uncovered that insight, I think he is mostly just regurgitating it from some other spiritual source. Anyway, I believe the journey is always longer than one might imagine, the universe is infinite afterall :). Even if it isnt the journey of Enlightenment, but rather growth and wisdom as a whole. Really appreciate your insights, and lookin up to ur progress -
Hello Actualized forum users, I was wondering if anyone would know of a field I could look into that would allow me to explore deeper and research the area of consciousness, metaphysics, the mind and other such things inside University. I know the best way to understand consciousness is through direct meditation, but since I am faced with the possibility to continue my academic career now after high school, I am trying to find a field which would be suitable for me to indirectly link my consciousness work to. Somewhere I could expand my knowledge inside scientific fields to help further push my investigations into consciousness, or where I could input my consciousness work to influence the field. Right now I am looking into neuroscience and theoretical physics (or physics & psychology). If anyone is studying anything of the likes please do help me with recommendations on where to look :). Thank you

Lol at our tendency to fight when we are all searching for the same thing -
How to go beyond just observing yourself and your surroundings during a meditation. Rather than just observing your experience, you can deepen your meditation by focusing on being that thing you are experiencing. You are not "aware" of awareness, that's just further conceptualization by the mind. You are nothing but awareness, and upon that realization you find that the notion of "consciousness/awareness" is as well only a concept, and that you are in fact everything. A prerequisite for this type of meditation is letting go of thought and having a silenced mind, and then a laser focus on BEING. Tl:dr = Become the thing you observe.

Keep going man. On psychedelics these enlightenment's are quite easy to attain and fade even easier into our memories, the path hasn't ended and the cycle of suffering will continue. So I suggest you continue the spiritual practice, even if in the moment of your enlightenment you felt it was completed. -

Just an update: I ended up going to the temple and meditating for 3.5 hours, much less than I expected to do but felt much shorter than it was in actuality. During the meditation it didn't seem like much had happened, I mostly just focused on silencing my mind and getting into a zone of just being where my thoughts and self-identity weren't manipulating my genuine experience of life and reality. When I left the temple the world was hyper vivid, everything was extremely clear, both in the outside world as well as in my mind. I barely needed to think, I could walk all the way home just observing my experience of life. The days following were very interesting, I had multiple awakening experiences where I had great insights into the reality that everything is made of the same "material" which is this awareness or consciousness, but calling it that seems to undermine what it really is, which is everything, eternity and all of reality. I also had a very intense experience of feeling like I was going to die after smoking weed with my friends, I was laying in bed and just observing my body relaxing, learning from my temple meditation how to let go I slowly began to use the same technique up until I saw an extremely bright white light and felt like my being was going to leave the physical plane, I got very scared so I quickly jumped up and grasped onto my friend. That was the end of that. -
Hello Actualized community! I'm turning 18 on the 19th of this month, in 3 days. Instead of going out and partying like most my friends are asking me to do, I am considering doing a record length meditation/contemplation to invite this turning of age. The longest meditation I have ever done is 3 hours on a retreat, which was in summer, since then I have reached much greater depths and have been meditating 50 minutes a day now. I want to keep going further though, and I feel like this is a great opportunity as I have a vacation from school. My plan is to go to my local chapel (Kamppi Chapel of Silence) and to meditate from the opening hours of 8am-8pm, a full 12 hours. I will bring water with me and walk around the chapel every hour or so if my legs begin to ache from the sitting. I will also be fasting the whole time. I wanted to ask you guys, and people more experienced if there is anything I should do to prepare for this, is it even possible, or will the discomfort overwhelm me. Any tips or advice on the types of meditation, or any other ideas you guys have on this experiment :).

Hello guys, I am the friend doing this with him! I dont know about the writing down notes part during the trip even, It would be awesome to forget about language for a while. Rewire the brain to work and think on a pure intuitive conceptual manner, not needing to break down ideas into sentenced structure, which is common thought. It would be great to be in that space between thoughts for as long as possible. Maybe even get creative during the shrooms, express in a way free from language, action, the body, signals? Anything, let the pure imagination flourish on different ways of expression :). A picture says a thousand words, a simple chord can express the depths of an emotion, obviously theres a communication happening throughout the universe at all times through ways free from language -
Hi, I am a 16 year old high school student from Finland with a passion for science, knowledge and finding out the truths of life and intern the universe itself. I have studied enlightenment and have even had a no-self experience while meditating. I have also studied physics and philosophy, and the grand question throughout these fields seems to be the link between the objective and subjective reality (or more commonly the mind-body problem). What I have found through these subjects, and my own experiences, is that everything seems to be pointing to a reality that is stemmed from, and created through and by consciousness. The mysterious and aware particles found in quantum physics for example seem to suggest that a reality can not exist without a consciousness. So I was wondering, why is it that to attain enlightenment we must abandon science. Science is not a dogma, science is the most liberal and open subject there is, only interested in ideas that can somehow be tangible and proven, no nonsense. I believe that if enlightenment is the true essence of reality, someday science will catch up and make the truth evident. I know that Leo has said that the problem with science is that it refuses to delve into the mind-body problem and the essence of consciousness itself. But I disagree, as I see that science is slowly beginning to dip its toes into the depths of these fields.

@psychoslice How can you say the dessert isnt just an illusion as well? Whatever we experience with the minds eye is never truly what is there, its all just interpretations. So is the ego real? It is real enough
