  1. I have a good one too! The human is a process like a burning cigarette. Born with fire, then we start burning and moving towards our death. In the meantime, our mind is all the smoke that is coming out. =) The smokes starts to think and it thinks it's the cigarette, because it sees it is coming from it.... But that's the physical entity. We are not only that process, right? We are everything?
  2. I've got a work colleague who is a lot into Astrology and he constantly does that (talk about the position of the planets) when we speak together. He talks about the planets and how he knew something would happen because of them etc, etc (like yesterday I think he said mars was over the moon or something like that and that meant aggression and family, and his roommate had a fight with him and almost kicked him out..). He always tried to get me into it, but I am just not interested in these things. We do talk about other spirituality things like astral projection, as he claims he had one when he was young and about chakras, but when he starts to talk about that Astrology thing, I want to barf .
  3. There are tests where they stick some stuff on your head and measure your brain activity during sleep and detect whether you are conscious during the sleep or not. The thing is, people can achieve this through practice. I don't think you need to be enlightened to stay conscious through all the stages of sleep, even though I've read that you have to be a real master to do it (so maybe you do have to be enlightened). It's a Tibetan yoga thing, and I really like the topic of sleep, dreams and being conscious while asleep. Maybe I should return to the practice.
  4. Couldn't control the thought? Is that just a bad choice of words? As far as I know, thoughts cannot be controlled. You can only observe and accept that the thought is there and continue.
  5. Can I ask you a question, I am really curious, how do you support yourself if you meditate 5-8 hours a day? I mean I guess you gotta become pretty rich to go for full enlightenment mode like you did there. Or you work 8 hours, meditate 8 hours and sleep 8 hours? (I guess it's doable but if that's the case u must be a machine :D)
  6. I am at a crossroad in my life as I am moving to a different country and I will be looking for a new job. I am thinking between continuing my programming career and just getting a simpler "serving the people" job. My problem with programming is that it is obviously very intellectually demanding career and it kind of forces me to live in my mind. Of course it would yield more money, however, I would need to spend countless hours learning new things and keeping my old knowledge fresh, which I would think is counterproductive for the spirituality practice, which is to get out of the mind and to let it's waves calm down on their own (will this ever happen if I constantly throw hard intellectual tasks in it?) . I was wondering is it possible to stay conscious and be a no-mind while you are working with computers, or are computers the so called "devil" when it comes to being present?
  7. A little offtopic here, but I'm kind of scared of Zen monestaries, I have this really weird "memory" how I am getting beat up to death, really painful and not knowing what is happening to me xD. Out of the blue! Or maybe I was an asshole
  8. What sort of answers are those? If someone believes something it's automatically real? I don't think so, at least not in the illusion we are living in right now.
  9. But he asked if its better 30 at once or 10+10+10, which is also 30
  10. Lovely post. I've been having a big argument about enlightenment recently and it really defeats the purpose of what I am doing here This post really good, I will look into thinking less about what enlightenment is and just *be* and try to do /or not/ what I came on this earth to do /or not/.
  11. Hi actualizers, I have a question for you. So I've been quite suicidal recently and I couldn't stand being "myself". That means that my Ego is so hurt/bleeding by my life story that it decided it wants to die. My Ego actually desires for me to become enlightened (for it to commit suicide if you wish) - that's why I am drawn to spiritual a lot and am practicing meditation and all through the day I am observing the machine we call body and mind. My question is, if my Ego desires it's own death, does this help the process of enlightenment or does it make the Ego somehow stronger, because it is getting what it "wants"? PS: I am not dead, because bottom line is I like breathing and being in the body too much (I'm addicted actually).
  12. I am searching for my true self for few days now, and I stumbled on a question today, so let's ask it and see if anyone has an idea. Is my true self the same nothingness as your true self? Is the true self separate for each human or is it just 1 universal thing (no-thing)? Any thoughts?
  13. You have to think about others too, in the large scale, is it going to help if everyone has huge ego and we eventually kill ourselves, even though we live moment to moment, or is it better for people to have 0 or close to 0 ego so that wars do not happen and we thrive? Like lets say you can have your big bad ego and still live in the moment and feel awesome whatever happens etc, but think about the big scale of things. I know ultimately nothings is good or bad, but as humans there is good and bad from our perspective, and we want to do favourable things for our species. If the individual can be without ego and feel as happy in the moment as a person with ego, then it's just wrong for humanity's sake to keep the ego in the system. Cheers. That's my perspective of things.
  14. Lol, why am I wasting my *time* with this. You are twisting my words, I have never asked you to prove you're enlightened, your ego picked it up. Do you see the problem with having an ego? Conflict (if I didn't have an ego, it would be long over, if you didnt have, it would be long over). I didn't even say that you have to prove it. All I said a million posts ago is I do not believe you are enlightened. You completely warped my words and maybe we should stop chit-chatting as it is not leading us anywhere. You are the one on the high horse and also you have painted a wrong picture of my in your mind and are attacking it. Good on you and your enlightenment "buddy".
  15. My friend, you're doing the same or do you not see the hypocrisy here. I am not the one who claims to be enlightened. I do still have the sense that it is all personal. And it looks like you do too by the way you acted all through this discussion.
  16. That's cool, that's your opinion and your reality, don't try to shove it on me. You are a rose trying to tell another rose that it isnt doing something right. No such thing
  17. I don't consider Christianity as spirituality, I consider it a religion. I have always been an atheist and one can say I still am.
  18. Nice comment, but what if (in my case) I see that all they are talking about is the same thing. All of those teachings I can see they are talking about the exact same thing from their different angles and it seems pretty solid to me what they are pointing at. Btw, I am from Bulgaria, then I lived few years of my life in England, then I moved back in Bulgaria, and now I am going back to England. So I am not that Western. Bulgarians have different culture, so don't put me in common denominator - not that anyone should. (This last point is more towards Socrates than you)
  19. This guy is a master class at ego triggering. I applaud that and I find it helpful
  20. Dude, chill, I am raising my consciousness. Why the nuthouses now? What is wrong with meditation, yoga and reading spiritual books? I also test everything and am doing an empirical investigation. I am living. I have not stopped living to do these things in order to start living after. Relax and leave your misconceptions to yourself. Every person is normal anyway, even a person in a nuthouse - there is nothing wrong with that. Just like every waterfall is normal. From what I gathered this is the root of enlightenment and I have grasped it on intellectual level. Now I am working on reaching the consciousness level in which I am living from that space. Relax and let me be. There is no free will anyway, so if the dice said I will end up in a nut house - I will. If they said I will end up as a king I will, if they said I will end up as a spiritual guru, I will, if they said I will end up living a regular life, I will, etc etc etc (I'm not bothered about the future)... It's all normal experience. You can't say if you are into mysticism you're missing the point, because that has nothing to do with it. You're still a person (or not, wink) and can reach the truth.
  21. Ok you might actually have achieved oneness, maybe you're an endarkened tho haha PS: Nice job, oh enlightened one, going back and giving me bad rep on all my comments, my ego now feels pretty hurt I have negative rep on the site, awesome! Helps me with enlightenment
  22. A lot of hypocrisy going on here. You're still living in the past by arguing with me in the first place. Also you fail to realize that I am interpreting your words in my way and also you are interpreting my words in your way. So you also might not have understood at 100% what I have said. You are dividing all the time in your comments, not something an enlightened being, a being that has realized it's one-ness with all would do, no? You are so deceived(or so I think) you are right and you even spilled the beans that you haven't even got rid of your ego. You're following something other than what Leo's videos were at all about, or at least how I perceived them. Please don't bash on Ekhart, his content is life-saving.
  23. Are you creating peace or are you creating conflict? PS: I never claimed to know what enlightenment is, as I am not enlightened. I was voicing my opinion on what I see. Using the forum.
