Look I think we are on about different things. You are talking about some intangible "I". I am talking about what the word I refers to. One of the most tangible and obvious things in our existence. The body. The body is the biological system you are talking about. This is the I, I think the title was quite simple.. Perhaps this is too simple to grasp (wink). Ok let me for a moment agree with you as if I was speaking about this esoteric intangible I you are talking about. The I is redundant- ok - to whom is it redundant? From your comment the answer would be - to the biological system. Well so forget about this redundant I, the I is obviously the biological system, not that redundant I thought that takes credit. The biological system is I. The body is I. Hence the title of my post - I refers to the body.... I knoooow in this community we are forced to believe that saying "I am the body" is blasphemous!!! But it is just my experience. If I truly was PURE AWARENESS - what is all this going to the toilet business? Lets work with simple things here, simple things!! Toilet!!

Ok, but there is a problem here which I dont think you can easily see. This is like the kid laughing at the naked king. You are made to see the king as having clothes, because this is what spirituality teaches. First of all, the self referencial is a feature rather than a bug. It is the way in which we are able to act in a way that is not only based on animalistic instincts. Yes animals do pretty well without an I thought, but they sure still do act as if they are their bodies and follow their body's desires for food sex and etcetera. One can say they are even more identified, just cannot think it or express it. This Gart Weber you are referring to... Are you referring to his enlightened identity as empty awareness or as the bodymind that wrote a statement about itself and its life? Yeah, the latter indeed... The king without clothes. Its obvious to those not indoctrinated.

To be Enlightened means to be yourself. I'm pretty sure everyone is themselves, no other option!!! Congrats!!

So enlightenment is thrown around a lot by many people. My question is: How do you know you are Enlightened, are there some sort of credits that roll which notify you when you reach Enlightenment? How is anyone sure they are Enlightened? Another question is, isn't everyone Enlightened? (Negating the idea that someone has more answers to give than anyone else)

I had a dream last night in which I was super identified (more than usual) with the character in the dream. The character was almost exactly the same as my current egoic identity. I did not know I was asleep. I was talking to my sister and told her her behaviour was caused by Satan - because I see her as materialistic. Then as I mentioned Satan I experienced a very strong fear that something is coming for "me". I was scared to think about that word/name, but I kept thinking about it... And then I sensed something like I was dying... I became something like a whirlwind... I dont know, freaked me out. Was all an illusion. The Me that died was not real. Never was, never has been, never will be.

I also want to add that seeking Ego death is a fool's errand, because the Ego is already an illusion. Suicide can be done only if you believe you are the body and you believe that by ending the body you end yourself. There is a base error there. If the body dies, you do not die. Hence suicide is impossible - it is a fool's errand. Enjoy being, peace.

Basically in non-duality you can say anything and when someone comes back to you with a slightly different phrasing which sounds too nihilistic, you can just wave your hand and say no, thats not wwhat I meant, this topic is too deep for you. Life is eternal. There is no evidence of non-life. You cannot be dead. If you are dead, there is no you to "be dead". Life is the default state.

Truth

You colour the Void any way you wish. If you wish to colour it 'scary' that will make it scary. If you colour it 'Me', you can only see it as a fresh blank ever present canvas on which you can Be.

Relaxation is key. I was so tired doing the things my body is conditioned to do.. Sat down in the park and felt extreme paradigm shattering relaxation. I can't believe how simple it is and yet how hard sometimes!!
