  1. @PurpleTree I had nightmares the night before last. It was due to my friend bringing a horrible energy into my house. Is there anything you can pinpoint that might have triggered yours?
  2. @Yimpa oh, thanks
  3. Something to do with manifesting and law of attraction.
  4. OK, I'll answer as best I can. We have knowledge of good and evil as innate intuition. This innate intuition comes from observing what is beneficial and what is not beneficial. Now. you could argue that murder is beneficial, because what is detrimental to one person may be beneficial to another. However, murder may give an individual access to resources or satisfy someone's sense of retribution or revenge, but how would it actually make the murderer feel? Do you think any murderers are actually happy? NO, of course they're not, because they've given in to a very animalistic desire for power. Our innate responses of shame and guilt negate these actions in most people. If we didn't have shame and guilt, then we would be no different from animals. Evolved individuals do not need to operate on animalistic impulses, as they can see the problems they cause. Evil literally means "not beneficial". Something that is "good", brings joy and peace to the greatest number of individuals. Something that is evil brings suffering. In Genesis, it says something like "God created the world. And He saw that it was good". Because it's easy to see what is good. The reason that I mentioned Jesus is because he is an example of someone who was extremely spiritually aware, so he was able to guide people on what was beneficial and what was not beneficial. The proof is in the pudding. If you actually follow his instructions, then you will see that it is "good". Whereas, the murderer I mentioned earlier has done evil and his own conscience sends him to Hell, whether that is a physical place or simply an internal feeling.
  5. I feel a bit despondent. I had a friend round last night, and he was quite negative, and I've still not been able to shake off his negativity.
  6. I was about to give a response like I actually know anything. Then I just thought "fuck knows" Yeah, when I said, I've seen the light, I meant it literally, but it doesn't make me an expert unfortunately
  7. @Bjorn K Holmstrom well said
  8. The typical online personality is a cold, stoic, sarcastic act that most people put on. It's actually really false, and was probably developed by most people in high school to defend themselves against bullying. I think people are afraid to be "nice" these days, because the prevailing narrative is that people (especially guys) have to be tough and alpha to be respected. Also, people want to be perceived as interesting or mysterious or intellectual. Being genuine and kind is less common. Maybe I am wrong, and it is just the filter I see the world through. But has anyone else noticed this? Cue the sarcastic reponses.
  9. yes that's so true. we need more kindness in this world. We can each make a difference.
  10. @Nemra sorry if it felt like I was making fun of you. I still have a bit of a mean streak at times. I'm actually genuinely wishing you the best. hope everything is perfect for you.
  11. @Nemra all the best mate, have a wonderful day. remember to smile! I hope the sun shines on you, and many blessings come your way.
  12. @Nemra My mother was such a good woman. I miss her, but also have accepted her death, and have let her go (to some extent.)
  13. Nah, i don't eat McDonald's any more. I had too many, and put on weight. I prefer healthier options like grilled salmon, or a medium steak with a side of vegetables and roast potatoes. Yum! I also like ketchup on my steak, which is not everyone's preference, but I like it nonetheless.
  14. Here's a question to you all? If it was your last day, would you be on a forum talking about spiritual mumbo-jumbo?
  15. this is a great thread by the way. makes me think.
  16. @5-D - L O V E what's your favourite animal? I like the seahorse.
  17. What do you prefer? coffee or tea? I like both. Coffee can give you a nice energy boost, but a cup of tea is more relaxing.
  18. @PurpleTree A purple tree would be quite divine. On a beautiful island, with waves lapping at the shore, and tropical birds singing. I'm talking about a purple tree, not you.
  19. @Nemra but the thing the beilief is about, may not be in your direct experience. I
  20. I think what he's saying is that non-duality sees everything as spiritual. How can Trump not be a perfect expression of the divine any less than anything else.
  21. Have you considered travel? Pick a place on the planet, and make a trip there. It can be wonderful to change your scenery once in a while.
  22. @Nemra How's having no beliefs and only experiencing what is in your direct experience going? Good, yeah? I hope so.
  23. Yes I am, and it's OK for you to think otherwise.
  24. Well your kid nephew sounds like a brat. God gives us a conscience and free will from birth. We know what we do is right or wrong because we have a "conscience", which means "with knowledge". And if we have knowledge of good and evil, then we can choose which path to take. I'm not perfect. I'm not Jesus. But listen to what Jesus said, because he was onto something.
